Ding~ [Host has awaken from hibernation mode.]

[Host's injuries have been healed from external Blue Grade true Qi. Residue true Qi absorbed. Host's {Colorless Emperor's Rainbow Mountain} has gained 2 levels.]
[Due to taking constant heavy damage, host's {Indestructible Body} has gained a level.]
[Due to surviving from the brink of death, host's {Escape Death} and {Rise From the Dead} has gained a level.]
Urgg ... where am I? I groggily opened my eyes and looked around, but was met with darkness. I tried to move my body, but it seems that I am cuffed tightly by metal against the wall. Well, where the f**k am I? Pure darkness, this couldn't be hell right? How can a righteous man like me end up in hell? If anyone, it would be the shameless Fatty first! Wait, where is the Fatty?
"F-Fatty? You there?" I hollered in a hoarse voice as I felt that my throat was parched, thirsting for a drink.
I was met with no response. After a bit, I tried calling out once more. There was no response once again. My heart could not help but pick up its pace as I fear that I was all alone in this darkness. I hoarsely cried out a few more time, but to no avail. I then blankly stared into the darkness. I told myself that the Fatty was not responding because he was still passed out, hence I waited.
I didn't know how long I waited as it seemed to have been days. I tried called every once in a while that I was awake, but I finally had to accept reality. I was in the darkness, all alone. Although I wasn't afraid of the dark as I was a brave man, but waking up locked up in darkness sent chills down my spine as I feared that I had already passed away.
I believed that I was still alive, and I called up my status to check if there was a dead status.

It seemed that I was alive as I didn't see any 'dead' tag on my status. I used this method for a while to tell myself that I was alive, but eventually it became pointless as I remembered that some of the MCs in novels can still see the system when dead.
However my confidence was boosted not long after as for the first time ever, I experienced happiness as I felt hunger. I was glad that I was hungry because it told me that I was at least alive in some sense. I tried to knock the thought that I was just a hungry ghost out of my mind as I constantly told myself that I was alive. Although it was a bit difficult to not go crazy, I managed as I had suffered worst as noted by the strength of my {Divine Mental Fortress}.
I don't know how much time passed, but I began to feel groggy as my stomach growling gradually grew silent, or maybe it was my hearing going silent. Suddenly, a booming voice resounded in the dark space, shocking me out of my stupor.

"Brat, do you want to eat?"
I groggily looked up to see a large holographic old, but muscular man with a white goatee and almost bald head. Although I was shocked, I nodded with all my strength as I very much desired food.
"Oh? Then, I will let you eat ... as soon as you tell me who sent you," the old man said.
I was in a groggy state in which my mind didn't work that well, hence it was hard for me to understand his implications; however, even if I was clear minded, I was pretty sure I wouldn't know what he wants to know. I could only shake my head as I was about to tell him that I don't know what he was talking about as he had gotten the wrong person; however, before I could, the voice boomed in anger, "That is the wrong answer. Then I shall come back another day.
Let's see how long you can last. Heh, don't think about dying as there are medicinal injections to keep you alive for as long as I want."
Before I could stop him, the voice disappeared along with the image. I could only stare into darkness once more. Then, in a groggy state I stayed for an unknown time period before the voice appeared once more. Once again, I was asked the same question, but unfortunately, I didn't even have the strength to move my mouth anymore let alone reply. Hence, I could only watch in despair as the voice disappeared once more.
Although my sights are fading out, I knew that I will live because there will be medicinal injections to keep me alive. True to his words, one day while I was in a groggy state of lapsing into unconsciousness, a piercing pain woke me up as some sort of content seemed to have been injected into my bloodstream. I instinctively realized that it was the medicinal injection to keep me alive, and I was glad; however, my hopes were dashed not long after.
Ding~ [Unknown medicinal content has been injected into host. Medicinal effects deemed to have negative side effects after usage. Host's {Slime's Greed} has been activated.]
[Host has absorbed unknown medicinal content. Host has gained progress in {Poison Body} and {Divine Blood Rebirth}.]
No. You f**king system! Why would you do this to me?! I want the food content even if it has side effects! Unfortunately, no matter how much I curse internally at the system, the system never responded nor allowed the medicinal content to pass. Although the system's auto-action feature has saved my life plenty of times in the past, this time, it might just be the cause of my downfall.
If it had ended like so, I might have been able to die peacefully; however, it seems the mechanics behind the injection had some sort of mechanism that tested if I'm about to perish from hunger. When it deemed so, it would feed me injections. I made this conclusion because the continuous piercing pain after the first injection plagued me, causing me to become wide awake. Constant injections came from many angles as I was pierced over and over again.
At first I still felt pain as I was still awake, but I could feel my mind getting heavier and heavier. The pain started to fade away as I felt constant pokes, but I only found them annoying as they are simply disturbing me from my sleep. Same with the constant 'dings' from the notification as if it was telling me that sleep was the wrong choice.
Please, just go away and let me rest. Alas, it seemed the annoyance finally went away as I slipped into unconsciousness.

The Depths of Magic
Synopsis It's the year 2052 and the release of the new next-generation full-dive VRMMO game called The Depths of Magic is hitting the world by storm. The game's technology will surpass all other games before it and shock the masses. Hector who goes by the name Locke inside the game is an experienced player of the genre. He is looking to continue his goal of enjoying gaming as well as the competition that goes along with competing for the top ranking spots. Novel Summary The Depths of Magic is a LitRPG novel focused on a Fantasy VRMMO setting. This is not a harem novel. In-Game systems The Depths of Magic features state-of-the-art technology never before seen in Hector's world. The key system the novel will bring up often is the Second Brain. The Second Brain system is more like a guidance AI for the players in the game that acts as if you had a second brain assisting your every action. How much guidance this AI will give is based on its experience or mastery skills a player will receive in the game. The guidance is seamless to a point where a player won't even realize they are being assisted, it's will feel like what they are doing is something they could always do. However, once they leave the game it will become quite apparent that they were receiving heavy guidance. The purpose of this system in a writing sense is to explain why a player can realistically become more powerful, more agile, or more skilled than they would otherwise be able to as a human. To give an example if someone could move faster than a bullet, how would a normal human brain be able to perceive and control this movement properly. Or how could a player who has never held a sword before become as experienced as someone who has trained with the sword all their lives? The magic system will be another focus of this novel. I don't want to spoil anything here but it should be an interesting one. The hope is that the system I have made will spark discussion between the readers on what combinations will do what. I already have most of it, but it will be fun to read as the author. Side notes My general focus for this novel is to attempt to make the in-game systems make sense. To give a vague example I have read a lot of novels of this genre and some have the habit of just creating such powerful items that it just breaks the system, and somehow the MC keeps finding challenging situations even with those items. What tends to happen when I read a novel like this I just ignore the stats of the items he is getting because the numbers don't even matter anymore. Release schedule: The chapter release schedule due to real-life complications is to release as I write them. Patreon setup: 1 chapter early release/discord access. Free content up to the current chapter includes an excel sheet that contains Locke's current stats at the end of the chapter. This is extra information for those that are interested.

Sector 27
It wasn't until June 3, 2101 that World War 4 ended. This was not a war that ended in peace treaties or truces; this war ended with disease. The atomic war caused plague and disease that crippled major countries. The generals and great leaders of the countries at war died from the radiation that penetrated every part of the globe. It was only then that humanity realized what they had done- what they had created. The first ever mutant was publicly executed the very day the war ended, and a new war began: the war against mutants. The surviving nation of Japan quickly rebuilt their country by dividing it into safe zones, or Sectors. There are currently 26 livable sectors in Japan; Sector 1 is the richest sector and the only sector that has completely rid itself of all radiation left over from the war. In fear against the threat of mutants, the once small section of the police force grew until it became the main police force in Japan. After all, humans shouldn't be blamed for crimes when the real threat to society is mutants. This police force that goes by their motto: Special Treatment Against Mutants (STAM) is comprised of agents that go about their work to capture and detain all mutants. Sector 26 is the poorest sector that humans can barely survive in; but there is one more part of Japan. This "dead zone" has such a high concentration of radiation that if a human were to step inside the barrier, they would die in mere moments. But within this dead zone, this 27th Sector, there lies a secret organization of mutants that fight against STAM and protect all mutants from their grasp. The Mutant Recovery and Protection Agency (MRPA) operates to hide mutants in society and allow them to live human lives. The only thing that stands in MRPA's way is STAM and its agents who hunt them down ruthlessly, so MRPA has their own set of skilled agents. And the battle rages on...
