Book 1: Chapter 23
“You!” The crystal Cyil pointed to Cyil. “You are not suppose to awaken ever again! You are suppose to spend eternity sleeping away in your happy dreams.” The figure then looked and Baccaus. “And you! How did you get in here and what gave you the balls to wake this boy up?!”
The crystal Cyil walked on the empty space towards Cyil and Baccaus, completely sure they could not get away; as he was approaching them, a radiant blinding golden radiance shot towards the crystal Cyil at breakneck speeds.
“And you too,” the crystal Cyil growled, familiar with Kara. “I may have once been unable to do anything to you but now, things are different!” The crystal Cyil ignored Baccaus and Cyil and focused on Kara--the only threat it perceived.
Kara didn’t respond and only continue to charge straight towards the crystal Cyil. When she felt that she was no longer repulsed by approaching the gray crystal, she directly intervened. Kara knew that without her physical body she would be hard pressed to do anything to the crystal figure, but she also figured that the crystal figure shouldn’t have a physical body, too.
Kara’s assumption was right and wrong. Before the gray mist took over Cyil’s body, it was only in its spiritual form or was only a consciousness, but after it did and reentered the dark space it could be said to have half a physical body. Half because it was simply borrowing Cyil’s body and could not use all of it as it pleased nor would it ever be able to unless Cyil was no longer there. However, it could not just kill Cyil because that would lead to the collapse of Cyil’s body thus it kept Cyil alive and hidden within the darkspace, the safest place it could think of.
Life Blossoms Amidst Chaos
The everglowing brilliance around Kara quickly gathered and condensed on her two pressed palms and shot outwards towards the crystal Cyil who snorted.
Death God’s Aura
Gray mist instantly burst outwards, slightly swirling around the crystal Cyil then moving to completely condense into a neat rectangular-gray gassed wall which intercepted the blinding attack filled with the power of life.
The blinding light drilled into the Death God’s Aura and quickly made its way through half of it before its brilliance significantly reduced.
When the crystal Cyil saw this, he smirked. “Nothing much,” he laughed.
“Nothing much, indeed.” Kara flashed her own smile.
*BANG*
The already dead attack flared into life, pulsing with life force so great it was like a bomb had been set off. The condensed Death God Aura was directly scattered and the attack continued on its way towards the crystal Cyil who had an annoyed look on his face. Lifting his palm up towards the attack, the crystal Cyil calmly said:

Absolute Stop
Everything within the dark space stood still, except for the crystal Cyil who flashed forwards towards Kara and grabbed her by the neck. Time resumed. Kara gasped and clutched at the crystal Cyil’s hand.
Life’s Aura!
Kara promptly released her own Aura which clashed against the crystal Cyil’s Death God Aura. At the same time, with little time to conjure up another spell, Kara released her innate spell that could be casted almost instantaneously.
Heal!
Heal, was a spell that did just what it’s name stated; it healed the physical and spiritual aspect of an individual. However, using Heal on the crystal Cyil did not have that effect but rather the opposite, as it violently cracked the crystal Cyil’s hand and forearm.
Realizing what was happening, the crystal Cyil flung Kara away and casted five Absolute Stops in a row. With five seconds to do whatever he wanted, the Crystal Cyil focused the Death God’s Aura and reformed it into a gray-misted scythe with tinges of blood red mixed in with its blade. Slowly lifting up the scythe which seem to be as heavy as a mountain, the crystal Cyil swung it towards Kara.
Death God’s Reaping Decree!
As time resumed, Kara saw a huge eerie scythe coming her way. Unable to dodge in time she condensed her Life Aura just as the crystal Cyil had done, and formed a wall to intercept the attack.
The scythe met the wall and sliced through it like a sharp knife through tofu. Kara was then cut straight through without the slightest bit of physical injury, but she already knew this was going to happen because she had seen this attack before when she was still in Nakrul. This attack would target her spiritual and mental state! She hadn’t a physical body to begin with so a physical attack wouldn’t have done anything much but this attack damaged all that she is, a soul body.
As Kara raised her mental and soul defences to combat the invading energy, she completely stopped moving and stood stock-still in the empty darkspace.
When the crystal Cyil saw Kara fall into this state, he laughed. “Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. If I do then that would simply be bringing on my own demise. Why do you think I called out to you so urgently when this boy was dying? After going through such troubles to find a Time and Space Saint body I was simply distraught when the boy was going to die after I, a Death God, had graced him with my presence. Well, I soon found out that that was because without an enormous Life attribute source stabilizing this boy’s body it would soon collapse. I didn’t think I was going to find one at all and was just about to jump ship when you came along.”

As the crystal Cyil spoke up to this point, he began to uncontrollably laugh at his own luck.
“Just stay here obediently in this darkspace and stop causing a ruckus. You’re no match for me with just your soul body. Things will be back to normal after I take care of…”
Darkness Seeping Whirlwind Punch!
The crystal Cyil felt a destructive force crack past his crystal form and pierce straight into his soul body then rampage about. Without a chance to respond, the crystal Cyil had been struck a deadly blow and before he could even cough out any blood, another attack had already arrived.
Darkness Seeping Whirlwind Punch!
It was the same attack and the second time around was just as deadly.
Absolute-
The crystal Cyil’s spell was interrupted mid-way through! “Impossible,” the crystal Cyil was flabbergasted. “Although this innate Time spell is not wholly mine, it should still be instantaneously castable so how did it get interrupted?!”
Unable to respond in the slightest, the crystal Cyil was thrashed about like a rag doll by an enraged Baccaus. It wasn’t until the 23rd hit that Baccaus stopped, not because he was showing mercy but because he had completely drained out every last bit of strength he could muster. He had use two forbidden spells: one to increase his strength exponentially and the other to allow him to interrupt a user’s spell casting. These two spells came at the cost of burning off more than half of his remaining life span, but Baccaus didn’t care.
When he saw Kara being hurt, Baccaus instantly began to seethe with anger. He had only been momentarily frozen in place by the crystal Cyil and could have moved earlier but he still had to be sure Cyil was safe. Furthermore, Baccaus was waiting for an opportune moment to strike; so despite having to endure he could finally endure no longer as soon as Kara stopped moving.
Baccaus had quickly melded with the darkspace and waltzed over to the crystal Cyil who had been giving a solemn soliloquy. Then he dealt his devastating blows that was meant to eradicate the crystal Cyil.
Alas, though the crystal Cyil had lost a majority of its crystal ‘skin’ and was bleeding black blood from all of its orifices, he was not yet dead. The crystal Cyil was on the edge of death, however, and couldn’t move at all. Physical injuries aside, his soul was what was damaged the most. It was on the verge of collapsing and he had to completely focus on holding it all together.
“Fuck,” the crystal Cyil knew he had gravely underestimated Baccaus, that unknown variable. “How can someone with a full physical body even be in here?! This darkspace exists inside the boy’s body...another living, physical being shouldn’t be able to come here with their true body!”
The crystal Cyil was confused but he had more important matters to focus on.
Baccaus was better off than the crystal Cyil but not by much. He was completely spent and could hardly even stand straight. A single Darkness Seeping Whirlwind Punch would have left him breathless and that was after he charged up and prepared for the attack, but this time he consecutively released 23 hits without rest.
“You talk too much for a god,” Baccaus heaved through his teeth.
The crystal Cyil did not respond and Baccaus slowly floated towards Kara.
“Kara, wake up. We must destroy that evil entity.” Baccaus gently traced Kara’s cheek but his fingers slipped right through her face.
Kara twitched and after hearing Baccaus’ voice, her eyes opened slightly. “Baccaus,” she whispered, still forcing out the remaining foreign energy. “You must get out of here. I cannot come with you.”
“What do you mean, Kara?” Baccaus’ face paled. “We need to destroy that evil entity; he is the cause behind Cyil’s slumber so we need to eradicate him to free Cyil and perhaps, us too!” Baccaus waved around his right arm frantically but Kara shook her head.
“I understand a bit now, after hearing that entity’s explanation. I can feel that his words are true. I need to stay here to keep this darkspace stable. I cannot leave otherwise Cyil, your grandson, our grandchild will die.”
Baccaus hurriedly said: “I refuse to believe this! There has to be some other way.”
Kara shook her head again and smiled. “I believe Cyil can take you out of this darkspace, as he was able to come and go last time. I, I will stay behind and restrain that Death god for as long as I can.”
“That’s not a tangible solution! We can destroy that entity right now and be done with it!” Baccaus urged Kara, certain that she wasn’t thinking clearly.
“Listen to me Baccaus.” Kara’s gentle gaze became stern. “We cannot destroy the entity or else Cyil will die. That entity has already become a part of Cyil and so have I. If either part is missing Cyil will die…. Cyil must grow strong enough to wrest control of his body back from that entity. Until then, I will lock down this entity in this darkspace for as long as I can and await that time.”

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.
