“How is my son doing grandma Sueta?”

“Things don’t look good. He’s not waking up and I’ve tried everything I know. I am just a small town doctor and cannot determine what’s wrong with your boy. This old lady is sorry.”

“Did you know, it’s been seven days already and you still haven’t opened your eyes. I don’t know if I can live if I lose you, too. Please wake up my dearest son. Mother misses you.”

“I have important matters to report so I will be heading back to the royal capital soon. Have you made your decision?”

“When can he come home again? How much will treatment in the royal capital cost?”

“When he gets better I will bring him back. Don’t worry about the costs. Vlatos and the others are only gone because of my poor judgement. That storm, the fire, the quake. It was as if the world was ending. It was my fault for bringing them to that godforsaken place. I- I can never repay them. I have given the other families gold, but that cannot bring them back their beloveds. This matter is much more important than gold; let my selfish self try to save your son.”

“I pray the elements be with him… Tell him his mother loves him very much.”

“Doctor Vecto, how are things looking?”

“He is in no danger of dying as long as he is well fed. As I told you, he is in a deep deep sleep. Maybe the shocking news of his father’s passing caused him to go into shock. I cannot pinpoint the exact cause as this case is very unique. I’ve tried various methods to wake him but none seem to work. For now we just have to wait for him to wake up.”

“Wait? For how much longer? It’s been close to three months!”

“How long, even I do not know.”

2 year

“His life force is dimming down. He won’t last till next week. Unless a high ranking light mage or Life Saint came in person. There is nothing we can do for him now. .”

“I’ve been looking but I am useless and none would heed my pleads… Doctor, if there is nothing left you can do then I must take him back to his mother. It would be best if his mother can see him before he passes. And, have a body to bury this time”

“Moving the patient now will only quicken his death. But my hands really are tied. I am sorry for not being able to save him, third prince.”

“You’ve done well, Doctor. Thank you for helping me in aiding this boy. Also, I have long since been a prince. Now, I am just a lowly commander.”

“As you command…”

“Alas, I’ve tried my best Vlatos. You won’t curse me when I see you again, right? ”

“Who are you?!”

“That boy you’re carrying with you. I want him!”

“Nonsense! You won’t get to him unless I’m dead.”

“Now now, I don’t feel like killing the third prince of the Drosan kingdom. Those old monsters will chase me to the ends of the continent and it’ll be annoying.”

“You-how?!”

“You ask too many questions. Sleep for a while.”

“Little boy, lady luck must be with you today! You will be dead in two days, but you just happened to pass by me! I am the only person in this terrible terrible continent who even has a chance to save you ! Haha! I’ll call it fate and try!”

“Boy, I do not know where you come from but helping you will be like helping me, too. The metamorphosis you’re going through should be impossible, but it’s happening. This change in you will finally either bring peace to this continent or an apocalypse. This continent has been embroiled in war for far too long and for too many of the wrong reasons. I hope you don’t dissapoint me.”

“Fight boy! You must fight! Hold onto life! Grasp the day now and tomorrow. Isn’t there anything you need to do? Anyone you cherish? Fight for them!”
