《The Billionaire's Proposal》And Then Things Go Downhill

We had spent an hour talking about our lives and catching up with my family. I now know that Hayley is a straight A student, is interested in politics, and enjoys writing in her free time. On the other hand Caitlyn is more into fashion like Mom and wants to be a model. The two siblings were very different but they still loved each other and I wish I can someday be a part of that.

"Jane, um I was wondering and only if you want to, would you like to change your name back to Juliet Zamora?" Mom asks and I stare at her wide eyed. Juliet Zamora, that would've been my real name.

I look over at Adrian and gives me a supporting smile letting me know that he'll support my decision no matter what it is.

I stare at my hands in deep thought and look up before answering, "I was given the name Jane Hamilton at the orphanage, and although I knew the people there weren't my family I embraced the name as if it were given by my real family. I'd love to change my name back to Juliet Zamora, trust me I would—but the name I was given reminds me of who I am and who I've become, I've gotten used to it and Juliet is foreign to me, it's someone I never got to be, it just brings back bad memories. I hope you can understand."

My parents look up at me and nod understandingly.

"At least think about it," Hayley insists. "It would be nice knowing that other people know you are a Zamora like me, that you are my sister. If not your full name then just the last name. You are a Zamora, Jane."

I nod and give her a smile.

"Maybe she doesn't want to change her name because she knows she isn't your real daughter mom." Caitlyn answers causing me to look at her with hurt. "The doctors told you Juliet was dead why would they lie about that?! Maybe she is the one lying just so she can inherit your fortune!"

"Caitlyn don't insult your sister like that!" Mom answers.

I swallowed the lump in my throat as I stared at Caitlyn with watery eyes.

"Unless I get a DNA test proving you are my sister then you are just a stranger to me." Caitlyn stated before walking out.

"Caitlyn come back here!" Mom called out before going after her.

"I''m really sorry about her outburst." My dad apologizes and I nod.

I take in a deep breathe before answering, "I'll give her the DNA test she wants, maybe then we all know for sure."

Hayley walks over to me and places her hand over mine as she hands me a smile.

"I know that you are my sister, not because you look like me but because I can feel it." I hand her a smile before she engulfs me into a hug.

"I'm so sorry, hopefully your mom can talk some sense into her." Dad states. "I'll schedule the appointment for the test and call you when it's ready."

I nod as I say goodbye to them and Adrian leads us out of the restaurant. Outside I find mom lecturing Caitlyn and I just get into the car with Adrian.

"You okay?" He asks with concern.

I look over at him as a tear rolls down my cheek, "I know my parents aren't dead, we just met and they already want me to change my name, and my sister doesn't even believe we are relate. So yeah, I'm great."

Adrian looks a bit hurt and I sigh. I interlock our hands and kiss him.

"I'm sorry, it's all just too much." I confess and Adrian nods understandingly. He wipes away the tears and strokes my cheek.

"Everything will get better." Adrian pecks my lips for assurance and I smile up at him. "Lets go home and get you some rest."

"Thank you." I state as we are driving home.

"For what?" Adrian looks at me for a split second before turning to look at the road ahead.

"For being here with me, and supporting me on my decision." I answer as I connect our hands. "It just makes me love you more."

"Well you are the one who didn't let your sister get you and was brave enough to show them." Adrian responds. "That just made me love and admire you even more."

"I love you." I smile up at him and he smiles back.

"And I love you Jane, my Jane." He replied causing my heart to do a million flips.

We entered the laboratory where Caitlyn, Hayley, my dad, and my mom were already waiting. Caitlyn gave me a nasty look and Hayley offered me an assuring smile. For a second they reminded me of Angelica and Gabby.

"It's going to be just fine." Adrian assured as he rubs my back. I nod and give him a grateful smile.

"We can do a blood test, I can scrap your cheek, and a hair sample. For the hair sample though we have to pick the hair from the root. Or would you can chose to do just one." The doctor informs.

"All three." Caitlyn is the first to answer.

Mom turns to look at me and asks, "Jane are you alright with that?"

"Yeah." I nod with a small smile.

"Alright, the first volunteer can sit on this chair and I will start by scraping the cheek." The doctor states as he gets his tools ready.

"I'll go first." I answer as I sit on the chair.

The doctor scraps my cheek and placed the sample into a plastic bag before picking a hair from my head. The hair is placed into a different bag and then the doctor pulls out a needle and rub. I've never like needles so I close my eyes as he inserts the needle into my vein and drains the blood from it. Once he is done he labels all three of my samples and I get up.

"We will wait outside." Adrian states as he leads us to the waiting room. He smiles up at me and pecks my lips. "You are the bravest girl I know."

"Thanks for being here." I reply as I place my head on his shoulder.

"I'll always be here for you." Adrian answers as he runs his hand through my brown locks.

Soon after my parents and siblings join us in the waiting room as the doctor informs us the results will take about an hour or so.

"Are you hungry?" Adrian asks and I shake my head.

"If you want you can go something to eat." I answer and he smiles down at me.

He kisses the top of my head and whispers, "I'll be right back."

Someone occupies the seat next to me and I look up to find my mom.

"He is a nice guy, and it's clear how much you two love each other." She states and I hand her a smile.

"He's my Prince Charming, he saved me when I was in distress." I reply with a smile.

"I'm glad you found someone like him." She answers. "I know it's to late but we approve of him."

I let out a small laugh before answering, "Thank you."

Adrian walks back upstairs and I scrunch my eyebrows.

"I thought you were going to get food?" I ask.

"I can't at least not with that whole crowd of reporters out there." Adrian answers as he takes the other seat next to me.

"I guess they hear the president of France and his family came to visit." I reply.

"Someone told them why we were here and now they are asking a lot of questions. I had to be escorted back into the building." Adrian answers.

The doctor walks out and he takes out the piece of paper that he had in a Manila envelope.

"Mr. Zamora, Mrs. Zamora, Ms. Hamilton the test taken state that Jane is 100% your daughter." The doctor states and I smile widely.

"I knew it!" Hayley calls out causing me to laugh.

"Jane I'm sorry, I guess was shocked and a bit jealous that mom and dad immediately took you in without proof." Caitlyn states as she walks up to me with a guilty look. "I hope you can forgive me and we start over."

"I would have been shocked if I was you so of course I forgive you." I answer before she gives me a hug.

Adrian, my family, and I walk out of the hospital where a swarm of reporters awaited.

"Mr. Zamora is it true you have a daughter?" Someone asked as another yelled out. "Jane, why are you at clinic taking DNA tests?"

"Jane Hamilton is our daughter, she is a Zamora." My dad announces leaving everyone speechless for a couple of seconds before we are bombarded with more questions.

"Can we please leave?" I ask Adrian and he nods before guiding us to his car. The security guards escort us there and we immediately climb in before pulling away. I run a hand over my tired temples and sigh. "Just what I need more reporters on my back."

"Guess, I need to contact Henry again." Adrian states and I laugh. His comment lightening my mood. Of course I was happy I have found my family but this will only bring more reporters and make our life les private than what it already was.

"Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing is going to be alright." Adrian sings causing me to smile.

This guy, what would I do without him?
