《The Billionaire's Proposal》The Aftermath of 'Sweet' Revenge

The beeping of my alarm wakes me up from my wonderful slumber. I groan as I slap my hand on the alarm. I look up and the clock reads seven am. I decide to get up and head towards my bathroom. I quickly rush my teeth and wash my face before making my way to my closet. I took out a white dress with spaghetti straps. I take out a black blazer and pumps before getting dress. I brush my hair up into a pony tail. Once I finish doing my make up I head downstairs.
"Good morning." Adrian greets as I enter the dinning room.
I throw him a smile as I take a seat in front of me. A bowl of sliced fruit with whipped cream was already waiting for me as well as a glass of orange juice. I eat the delicious meal.
"Today, we are going to Jacob Corporations to check up on things." Adrian informs and I nod.
"Adrian?" I asks. He looks up at me and motions me to go on. "Do you think the reporters believed us the other night?"
"They haven't bothered us since then so yeah." He replies before placing his hand on top of mine. "But don't worry you'll still get the money that was promised even if they find out."
I pull my hand out of his grip hurt. Why does he think all I am worried about is the money? I am not!
"I'm not worried about the money." I snap with a frown as I stand up from the table, my apatite gone.
"Jane!" He calls out but I continue walking. I open the door and am shocked at who is standing on the other side.
"Damon?" I ask. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Why I came to see how my dear friend Adrian is doing." He answers with a smudged look. "Oh and I hope you don't mind, I brought an old friend of his as well."
The familiar blonde comes out from behind him just on cue. I felt like nothing compared to her. Her body was hugged by a vibrant red dress that showed off her perfect hour glass figure.
"Jane, who is it?" Adrian asks from behind him.
"Hello, Adrian long time since we last talked." Leila states with a smirk as I feel Adrian tense up next to me.
"I don't know if you have been informed or not but you are not welcomed here." I spit out. Leila rolls her eyes and pushes me out of the way before walking into the house uninvited. Damon steps in after her.

"Well this isn't your house, it's Adrian's so I don't have to listen to you." Leila looks me up unimpressed. "Right, Adrain?"
Adrian pulls me closer to him before answering, "I don't know if you have heard but Jane and I are getting married, and therefore she's the lady of the house so you have to respect her wishes."
His words made my heart skip a beat and they still didn't make up for what he said earlier.
"I remember when I was the lady of this dump." Leila states as she runs a finger over one of the brown wooden drawers and wipes away the invisible dust. "And now I am the lady of a real palace."
"Of course a gold digger like you would easily dump one rich guy and go in search of another." I snap.
Leila smirks and walks over to me before answering, "Well you are one to talk aren't you sweetie? You are the one who's marrying Adrian for money."
"I don't know what you have heard but I love Adrian, and I am marrying him because he is the only man I want, he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. What we have isn't an agreement, it's love. Something you clearly will never understand." I reply. "Now let ME remind YOU that you were the one who pretended to love him, and lied to him in the worst way possible before leaving him heartbroken. And you also destroyed the relationship he had with his brother."
"Well you tell each everything don't you?" Damon, who's presence I had forgotten, states.
"It's called trust, something neither of you will ever get." Adrian snaps.
"With all the so called love and trust you have for each other, I am guessing that you know that your dear Jane here used to date Damon, don't you?" Leila asks with a smudged look which only causing Adrian and I to smile.
"Actually, I do." Leila's smirk drops at the revelation. "And I know what an asswhole Damon was to her."
"That's what I am to you now," Damon asks turning his attention to me. "If I recall I was your knight in shinning armor, I mean after all I was your first love."
Damon stroked my cheek and pushed his hand away disgusted.
"You weren't my first love." I respond.
He raises his eyebrow with his smirk still intact and asks, "Is that so?"

"Yes, and you want to know how I know?" I reply. "It's because when you left me, your vanished presence pained me but it didn't kill me. And when I met Adrian I felt a spark, a connection, you only feel when you meet the one. I didn't feel that before nor after I met you."
I turned to look at Adrian who had a smile tugging at his lips.
"Oh right, because a little gold digger like you easily moved on to the next rich guy she could fi-"
Damon's sentence was cut short as Adrian's fist collided with his jaw. Leila gasped in horror as I stood there taken aback.
"No one, and I mean no one calls my girlfriend a gold digger!" Adrian growls causing my heart to flutter. "All those rumors, all that bullshit is wrong! I love Jane, from the very moment I laid eyes on her. And we aren't getting married because of an 'agreement', we are getting married because we love each other, trust each other, and need each other!"
The two jerks stared at him with frightened and shock expressions.
"Now, leave my house!" Adrian orders. "Because like Jane said, you aren't welcome here."
A scared Damon stands up and walks out with Leila right behind him. He turns around and states, "This isn't over!"
He cowardly jumps into the car and speeds away. Adrian shuts the door and runs a hand over his temples. With out thinking I wrap my arms around him and he returns the gesture. We stood there enjoying the silence and holding onto each other.

Adrian and I enter Jacob Corporations hand in hand. The events from this morning had caused a terrible migraine but I didn't want to worry Adrian.
"Jane!" A female voice said from behind us and I turned around to find Amber.
"Hey, Amber." I greet with the usual warm smile she would always give me when I worked here.
"I heard the great news." She states. "I'm so glad that you are the owners, Damond and his father weren't fair and they were cutting off great employees."
"We know, and that's why we, well Adrian decided stop to it." I reply.
"Well I am glad you did, is there anything I can get you or do for you?" She asks and we shake our heads in response.
"We just came to pick up the earning records." Adrian informs. "Let's go Jane."
"I'll see you later, it was nice seeing you again." I state as I wave goodbye.
Amber returns a smile and the same gesture and mouthes, "Goodbye."
Adrian leads us to one of the elevators and presses the button for the second to last floor. Soft jazz music fills the silence as we wait to arrive at our floor.
"I'm sorry about earlier." Adrian states.
"The part where you punch Damon and got blood on the carpet, or the part where you made me seem like a gold digger?"
"I didn't mean to offend you, and honestly with all this going on I, I just-"
"Adrian, we are friends now and the reason I was asking was because I know that if your family finds out they'll be mad at you and as a friend, I-I care for you." I reply. Am I really going to confess my feelings for him?!
Adrian turned to look at me and stroked my cheek, "Jane I-I..."
I waited there hoping he would say he liked me, or that he felt something towards for me.
"I care for you, too as a friend." My heart snaked in disappointment but I kept my smile in tact.
"You are forgive." I state which causes a smile to appear on Adrian's face. The doors slide open and we head to Adrian's new office at Jacob Corporations.
"You know I was thinking and maybe we should stay in contact after the agreement." Adrian confesses causing my heart to leap. "I am sure James would love that seeing that he has a thing for you."
"I'm not too sure about that," I reply. "The other day at the diner I saw James and Sara getting pretty close."
"But seeing that you are in a desperate need of friends I'll gladly stay in contact with you." I tease.
Adrian's phone starts ringing and he takes it out before answering. An alarmed look displays on his face as he turns on the television that was in his office. There on the screen was Damon at a Showbiz interview.
"Yes, I did date Jane Hamilton." He tells the interviewer with a smirk.
As if he had sensed I was looking at him he turns to the camera with an even wider smirk and evil green eyes.
"That bastard!"
