《The Billionaire's Proposal》Here Comes The Bride (Part III)

"Ms. Hamilton?" David's voice brings me out of my trance. I turn around to find David opening the limousine door.
"David, can you help me put Adrian into the car?" I ask and he obliges. Together we get a now passed out Adrian into the limousine.
I turn around and scan the beach only to find it empty. Guess the champagne is getting to me. With a sad sigh I step into the car before it is closed by David.
"Leila you're a bitch." I hear Adrian mumble which causes me to giggle.
"Oh, you're going to have one hell of a hang over tomorrow Mr. McKeller." I state as I push away a few strands of his brown locks back. I take the time to admire his handsome facial physique.
Without his usual grumpy frown he looks like the young man he was. His temples were relaxed as well as his facial expression. A warm feeling spread across my chest as I stared at the man in front of me. Could it be possible? No, I can't! Can I? Is it possible I'm starting to fall in love with my fake fiancé?
"Jane you look beautiful in that dress." Adrian mumbled causing me to snap out of my thoughts. Did he just say what I think he did?
"He's drunk Jane, he doesn't know what he is saying." I tell myself. But then again they say children and drunk people always tell the truth.
I let out a long sigh and run a hand threw my now tangled brown locks. God, what is happening to me?

"Where are we?" Adrian questions slightly awake.
"We are back at the mansion." I answer only to earn a sleepy nod. David opens the door and I step out first.
David tries helping Adrian out but being his stubborn self Adrian refused.
"I can (hiccup) get out myself." He stated as he started getting out of the car only to trip and fall flat on his face.
"Mr. McKeller are you okay?" David asked trying hard to suppress his laughter.
"I'm fine." Adrian answered. David and I helped him back on his feet and brought him into the house even though Adrian protested he could do it himself.
We dropped him onto the king sized bed before David dismissed himself. Adrian's snoring filled the silence of the room and I decided to go get ready for bed. I walk into my room and slid the gown off. I let my hair fall into tangled wave relieved that the painful bobby puns were no longer poking my scalp. I tie my messy brown locks into a bun to tired to take a shower. I replace the beige dress for a pair of comfortable white silk pajama shorts with black hearts on them. I put on a black silk night gown top and slid on my black slippers. I walk back towards to Adrian's room once I decide to check up on him.
Laying on the bed was a passed out Adrian. I walk over to one of the drawers and thankfully it was the one with clean t-shirts. I take one out before walking back towards a sleeping Adrian. I carefully unbuttoned his shirt making sure not to wake him up. I slid it off and throw it into the dirty clothes rack before replacing it with a clean navy blue t-shirt. I unbuckled his belt and slid off his pants which caused my cheeks to flush. I looked away once the pants were below the waist and quickly covered Adrian up with the sheets. I threw the white slacks in the rack before turning the lamp light off.

"Goodnight Jane." I froze as the words left his mouth and I felt my cheeks heat up. Was he up the entire time?!
With flushed cheeks I ran out the room and back into mine. I sprinted towards my bed and hid under the sheets. Why do you hate me god?

"Who's a beautiful princess?" Her bright chocolate brown eyes stared at me joined by a wide smile.
"Mwe!" I giggled as she spun me around holding me tight to her.
Her scent of roses filled my nostrils as I wrapped my tiny arms around her. The warmth and familiarity making me feel safe. Suddenly the once sunny sky was filled with gray clouds. I look up to find a lady holding my hand, but it was not my mom.
"Don't worry sweetie, they'll take care of you here." The lady stated. We entered the tall brick building before I was placed with other kids.
"Mommy!" I cried out but it was as if no one heard me or was able to. Darkness surrounded me and loneliness consumed me. "Mommy."
I jolted from my bed with sweat running down my face and palms. My unsteady breathing filled the silent room.
"It was just a dream." I tell myself. I swallow the lump in my throat before walking out of bed.
I step into the bathroom and turn on the tap. I adjust the water to my liking before I strip out of my clothes. I wash my face getting rid of the tear stains on my cheeks. As the water cascades over me I let my mind return to last night. Same brown eyes, wavy brown hair, and posture. It could have just been my mind playing tricks on me or is it possible that my mom—no I was told I was the only one that survived. Or was I? A sharp pain cursed over my temples and I let out a groan. I step out of the shower once I am all washed up and my thoughts are all locked up again. I walk into my bedroom and quickly get dressed in a pair of blue jeans, light blue off the shoulder top, and white vans. I place my hair into a messy ponytail and let some strands fall loose.
"Is there anything that I may help you with Ms. Hamilton?" Cassy, one of the maids asks as I enter the kitchen.
"Do you know where the pain killers are?" I answer and she nods in response. Cassy opens a cabinet and pulls out a bottle of pain killers. She hands me two pills and I thank her.
I grab a glass cup and pour some water into it before walking back upstairs towards Adrian's room. I knock on the door three times and when there's no response I decide to go in. Adrian lay in bed still asleep so I quietly made my way towards the night stand next to his bed. I placed the two pills and water on the polished wooden drawer.
"Adrian," I whispered as I gently shook him. "Adrian wake up."
"Hmm." Adrian replied still sleeping.
"Adrian wake up." I repeated this time a little louder. "Adr-"
My sentence was finished as a squeal since I was pushed onto the bed. Adrian wrapped his arm around me and dropped his leg over mind tangling us up. My heart began to race at the close proximity.
"Adrian!" I hissed as I tried to remove his arm only for him to tighten his grip. His breathe fanning my neck wasn't making the situation any less difficult. "Adrian!"

A startled Adrian caused me to fall of the bed and hit the floor with a loud thud. I groaned as my butt made collusion with the floor.
"Jane!" Adrian exclaimed. He helped me up and I rubbed my sore butt. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am fine." I answer. Suddenly I remember that he went to sleep with only his underwear. My hand go to cover my face only to earn a, "Why are you covering your eyes."
With flushed cheeks I answer, "You're only in your undergarments."
Adrian's chuckle filled the room causing me to drop my hands from eyes and knit my eyebrows together. Standing in front of me was Adrian dressed the same way I left him yesterday only difference was the gray pants he had on. If my cheeks weren't red already they were now.
I clear my throat and state, "Well now that you are awake I'll be heading downstairs. I only came to drop off some pain killers for your um hangover."
I walked towards the door with an embarrassed look. Once I shut the door I hold the urge to scream. Way to go Jane! Real smooth.
"Ms. Hamilton, your breakfast is ready." Rosalinda informs.
"Thanks, I'll be downstairs in a bit." I reply and she nods before heading down the hall. I let out a long sigh before making my way towards the dinning room.
I watch as the embarrassed brunette walks out of the door and lets it shut behind her. A smile forms on my face as the image of her flushed cheeks pops in my head. She looks so cute when she is embarrassed. I don't know when it started but I have feelings for Jane that I cannot deny. The sight of her brightens up my day and her smile makes heart accelerate. But when she accused me of trying to get into her pants I realized that she didn't feel the same way and it was best to not confess my feelings. After all our "relationship" is based of an agreement which clearly stated, "No attachments." I guess that's why I started acting like the arrogant douchebag she sees me as.
"Adrian, you need to get her out of your head." I tell myself as I run a hand over my temples. "And while you are at it, out of your heart as well." My mind added.
I let out a sigh of frustration before making my way towards my bathroom. I turn on the water and adjust it to my liking. I strip out of my sleeping wear before stepping into the steaming shower. I let the warm water relax my tensed muscles. As I am standing under the cascade of water memories from last night flash back. Leila causing me to put on a show for all the guests. Then me in Jane's arms. The image causes a warm feeling to spread in my heart. And suddenly I remember a confused Jane watching everything display in front of her. Jane did not know what was happening or who Leila is? I need to tell her, she deserves the right to know. "What happened to the 'no questions about the past' rule?" My mind asked. Once I've made my decision I turn off the water and get dried. I take out a pair of khaki slacks, light blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and brown shoes.
"Good morning Mr. McKeller." Rosalinda greeted as I entered the dining room.
"Good morning Rosalinda," I notice the empty plate on the table and empty seat. "Where is Jane?"
"Ms. Hamilton is in the garden." She answered. "I'll bring your breakfast right away."
"Actually, I'll eat later." Rosalinda nods before excusing herself. I turn on my heel and make my way to the garden.
A smile forms as I spot the beautiful brunette that brightens my day. She was swinging herself on the light brown wooden bench chair swing, with a book in hand. I walk towards her before taking a seat next to her. Her head immediately shot up as she noticed my presence.
"Hey." I smile down at her and my heart accelerates as she returns the gesture.
"Hey." She answers. "I hope you don't mind me borrowing this book from your library."
"No it is okay, I never actually read those books but now they have someone who appreciates them." I reply. "When they were building this house my mom suggested a library and this garden."
"Really?" Jane asks and I nod. Suddenly silence surrounds us and I decided to do what I came here to do.
"Um listen...about yesterday I know you are probably really confused as to why I acted the way I acted." Before I can continue Jane interrupts me.
"You don't have to tell me. It's not like we're in a real relationship." The last sentence caused my heart to flinch.
"Yeah, but it is best if you know." I reply.
"Alright, in that case I'm all ears." She states causing a smile to tug at my lips. She composes herself and stares at me attentively.
"A few years ago, Daniel went with our parents to a charity to event, there he met Leila. He was instantly captivated by her and soon they started dating. My brother was head over heels for her and I remember how he would always talk about her. During that time I was going through a break up of my own. Daniel and I shared an apartment since it was close to the college I was attending. Leila would obviously always come over and she would sometimes even stay over. When my brother was not home she would help me with my assignments and we would talk about life. She would often make me feel special and during that time I needed it since I was going through a break up. I started falling for her and I felt guilty because she was my brothers girlfriend. One day Leila came to the apartment claiming my brother had hit her. The bruised eye on her face and the drunken state Daniel had arrived in proved that it was true. My parents were disappointed and I could not believe he would do that to Leila. We were all blinded by her facade. During my sophomore year my parents granted me this mansion and a couple of weeks after moving in I asked Leila to be my girlfriend since she had told me she had loved me. Daniel was beyond mad and he has hated me for stealing his girlfriend. In my junior year of college Leila told me she was pregnant and I was beyond excited. I started the room decorations and everything. I even proposed to her and gave her her own bank account with a deposit of two million dollars. A week later I came home to find all her stuff gone and a note telling me that she never loved me and that she had faked her own pregnancy."
Anger started to rise as memories flash through my mind. The soft hand the was now placed over mine caused the anger to vanish. I look up to be met by a pair of brown eyes.
"I was dumb you know, for believing her. She ruined my relationship with my brother and made me believe I was gaining a family when actually I was losing one. But now I realize it was all my fault."
Jane placed a hand on my cheek as the other held my hand, "It's not your fault. She filled your mind with lies and you're a human with a heart. You simply gave it to the wrong person. And honestly, Daniel should not hold this against you because you also suffered because of her."
Her brown eyes told me her statement was genuine and she meant what she said. A smile spread across my face as my fear that she would judge me even more vanished.
"It is not your fault." She replied as she stroked my cheek.
I slowly started leaning down, my eyes never leaving hers. Our lips were mer inches from touching when...
"Adrian!" We both jumped back and I looked up to be met with a pair of icy blue eyes.
Adrian's eyes never left mine as he started leaning down to close the gap between us. My awaiting lips started becoming impatient and just before our lips could connect a loud voice calls out Adrian's name. We both jump back as a startled Adrian stands up with a tense posture. I walk over to him and interlock our hands as I run my right hand up his arm in a comforting manner. I look at the man in front of us and hide my face behind Adrian.
"Grandpa?"
