《Authority [Dropped]》Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Beginning (4).
On the vast ocean above, clouds were nowhere to be seen, as if frightened by the sun's presence. The sun was staring down from its peak height imposing a grand aura, signifying that it's already high noon. The surrounding was solemn but out of nowhere a noise broke through the intangible line between silence and sound.
Rustle* Rustling of the bushes behind Titus could be heard as his ears twitched. Titus without hesitation, immediately got out from his emotional state and stopped his pasts recollection. Feeling the still sensitive, new found and still yet controllable senses, Titus quickly sprung up from his seat and immediately kicked the campfire without hesitation whether it was still hot or not. He quickly dashed in a diameter of the incirclement he was staying and his stature could be seen rushing towards the bushes and is the opposite side of where the noise came from.
The commotion continued and Titus who was hiding was getting tenser as time flows. It is an instinct to fear the unknown and with the addition of Titus' realization of his mistakes, thus making vow again, of being too absorbed in his daze while in the wilderness made him more frustrated. It is the second time he committed a major mistake since coming from this world apart from not raising vigilance at all times before the commotion caused by the frog.
Shua* A shadow emerged from the bush however the scene baffled the bulging eyes of Titus. The shadow's stature was similar to Titus if he was standing upright and not slouched. But that was not the problem, the problem was that the former was wearing a crude helmet made out of thin but durable sheet of metal with two horns attached on each side, similar to a vikings hat. A jagged short sword could be seen hanging on the formers waist, nearly touching the ground.
It was a goblin!
Titus was shocked to encounter the species so soon as goblins are practically humanoid creature to a point. Although he did not mind meeting humans, i.e grandfather and granddaughter, it was a whole different story to find a goblin alone due to it alone being weird as goblins move in groups! Or at least what the books on earth say.
Upon closer inspection the goblin seem to be sniffing around the area, as Titus squinted his eyes. 'He is probably looking for the damn deers meat I was cooking!' Titus did consider that it was a mistake as he did the hiding procedures and besides cooking was essential especially in the wilderness even if it attracts monsters even though it was low as he was hidden properly which can be found no fault as there is no absolute in the wilderness and he knew that thus the letiency. Titus cursed in his mind. Yes it's a he, as to why, it is by no means intentional but instead the thing that signifies that its a 'he' was freely dangling in between its damn legs. Looking at the scene it made Titus uncomfortable.

Thankfully, apart from goblin leaders, common goblins are much dumber so it was still lingering around the area despite it was stepping on the still warm coal from the destroyed campfire. Seeing the donned attire of the aimless goblin Titus was salvating upon looking at the weapon. In the end Titus succumbed into the temptation and slowly inched away from the bush where he was hiding and climb a nearby tree. Titus deemed the goblin 'defeatable' as looking at its 'rod' it was premature nor has it had undergone puberty which was identified through high school anatomy, goblins was still a humanoid creature so human anatomy is still plausible, therefore it was still within his bounds of strength.
The goblin was still young and inexperienced and can only be at most at level 4 as level 5 has a boundary considering its young hence the aged man slash grandfather said so. Titus manuervered through from tree to tree by following suit the interconnecting branches of the trees.
When he was 'somewhat' above the 'aimless' goblin's head whose nose still sniffing, Titus made use of the time of waiting and analized in his mind. Although this world is rpg based and there were three catalogs (Title, Skills, info) despite that statistics which as 'hp' and 'mp' was nowhere to be seen meaning that they were not measured by quantitative and qualitative values and are not absolute and can be influenced such as things like eating monster meat. Titus summed it up, since the health bar was nowhere to be seen hence its absence on himself then if the goblin was hit on a fatal spot such as the neck it will certainly die.
When the goblin moved to smell to another spot it came to the calculated place where Titus were and the goblin was directly under Titus. Titus who was a crouching tiger laying and was patiently waiting jumped like a leopard from the tree branch as his body did a turn from his back facing the goblin to his front in midair, through synchronization of course, he did so so lessen the speed of his falling. Titus straightened his slouched body and pointed his heels in an angle to avoid breaking his spinal cord upon impact on the ground and aimed it at the shoulders of the unsuspecting goblin.
The same as the scene of him killing but was more less fortunate than the deer, the goblin did not even know how it died much less utter a cry as it was sent to the 'yellow springs' (hell) still looking for the deer meat.

Thud*
A loud thud reverbated the surrounding and was immediately followed by bones breaking turning the surrounding solemn. Titus did not hurt himself from the protruding bones from the mashed meat of the goblin, as he landed just because he used his third major skill and only active skill, 'hunt', unto himself when the force from his fall transfered to the goblin and timed it right after it was done transferring so. Although it requires extreme precision, who says that a man who could cook a dish that only read the recipe once, does not have precision. The only thing Titus was worried about, thus he considered training his first, was he would not be able to do such things unlike his past life as he initially thought that synchronization did not cover its scope. 'Truly a disgrace for the earth's "numbah" one to not even figure out such things which where basically at the same level of differentiating between 'and' and 'or'. Although his brain was like a computer, a computer was not perfect so does he, as perfection was nonexistent in his dictionary thus there is no shame about it.' Is what Titus would think if he had time to do so, unfortunately he had none.
( Note: I am indeed making a claim here that he is in fact not omnipotent)
Ding*
A notification appeared but was ignored nonetheless.
Titus who was still hurting from the impact, even though he used hunt last minute nonetheless there was still effects as he was not omnipotent, quickly got up as soon as he landed. Why? Because he heard shouting not far from where he was thus he decided to scram away from the scene.
(Note: I will not keep on specifying the reason he was able to do such things as it is a bother to always see me write, synchronization, and also it is a passive so it will be redundant if this keeps going...)
Once, he noticed faint shouts from afar he quickly snatched the weapon of the goblin and hid among the trees which, remind you, a Forest Imp's home. Then he saw group of goblin all armed individually and was looking matured and have experienced the cruelties of life as they bothered to hide their rods underneath animal skins tied on their waist unlike the goblin Ttius' just killed.
The group then saw the dead body of their 'young' comrade lying cold on the ground, blood seeping through the soil dampening it. The group raged but could not find the perpetrator, Titus, who was hiding and was trying his best to conceal himself to the point of sweating all over. In the end they surpressed their surging emotions as they were not high level enough to discover Titus' presence which even the aged man who was level 30 was not able to and dragged the dead body as they go home to their dwelling. 'Wow, they really changed their minds so fast!' Titus inwardly exclaimed but thought so otherwise as he saw something that answered a question in his mind.
Titus who was hiding followed the groups trail after a couple of minutes as to why? It was because the shout he heard from the goblins was accompanied by muffled shouts of a girl which was nonexistent. Which was further fueled Titus when he noticed a squirming 'sack' behind the group and he had his own suspicions that was answered once he saw so.
Sigh* Sighing, Titus needed to satiate his curiosity of what's gonna happen next as it overwhelmed him and just decided and followed them silently.
'Plus, it's still daytime and I'll just crash down to bed once I get home if my body feel even the slightest relaxation after this two consecutive battles which will certainly affect my sleeping schedule...' Titus thought so while looking at the still bright sky.

Frameshift
Magic. Math. Not a whole lot of context. Two months ago, I was a wormhole navigator, ripping open a hole in the universe to save a ship of people who only vaguely tolerated me. Two weeks ago, long story short, I threaded an impossible path through the void between dimensions to crash-land into a dungeon. You know the kind: monsters to defeat, corridors full of traps to avoid, and magical powers to earn. I'm not ashamed to admit that it's been two weeks of loneliness, fear, adrenaline, and constant injury. But I'll make it out of here by myself if I have to, or my name isn't Adam Leviathan James. ... too bad the Levi doesn't stand for Leviathan, huh. AN: Expectations should include in medias res, violence, smut, friendship, and powers/progression systems with absolutely an insufficiency of context and (at least at first) no definitions or explanations, and magic-as-programming/engineering (with something of an emphasis on "what if magical runework were an analogue to circuit diagrams").
