《Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)》Chapter 16

On the blue screen, letters were arranged into words turning into sentences; it seems there was a lot of info that the Caretaker wanted to portray. He grudgingly started reading, and his sleepy-looking eyes first rolled, then widened with each sentence.

Dear Zef,

This is the Caretaker speaking; I hope you liked my magic show. Haha, I bet you got scared and almost jumped off your skin.

Now stop rolling your eyes. We've got a lot of work to do.

Provided below is a list of instructions and how to use the Kadomoni Dagger. That's the name of the shiny blade you picked up, but I like to call it the Nexus, which is also one of its names...

Provided below are instructions and criteria's when dealing with a creep. Best you slay the grey or white ones first. If you see any other colors, just run!!

Your current rank as the wielder of the Kadomini Dagger is Rank 0...

Time to get to work, son.

Kill a creep and contract its soul if it's still sane.

This will allow it to keep its memories and abilities. The two parties may negotiate on the conditions or number of years to serve their contractor. If the conditions are broken, then the contracted soul will face death, and if the contractee violates the rules, he will face a dire punishment.

Hint: The contracted creep can still cultivate and learn skills. The chance of the soul living again is near impossible. Rank up dagger for more info.

Kill a creep and utilize its essence.

The soul will lose its free will and become a mindless creature if it isn't already one. More souls reared will require the wielder to have a large Essence Pool, also moving distance is dependant on it.

Hint: Your Essence Pool determines the number of creeps you can summon.

Kill a creep and free its soul back to its realm, world, or universe.

The current wielder will receive 50 Karma points as a minimum. Also, designated worlds will slowly warm up to the wielder.

Hint: Rank up dagger for more info.

Kill a creep and replenish the Kadomoni's core.

Absorbing the soul or essence of creep will be beneficial towards the dagger, allowing the user to rank up his EP (Essence Pool) and unlock more options.

Kill a creep and earn coins for each kill.

Coins can be utilized to research, produce, buy skills, and cultivation techniques or items from the Vault. Note that increasing the dagger's core will provide more goodies as they come in limited purchases and supply.

Zef read the scroll several times while tapping his knee, and he somewhat understood most of the instructions to some degree. Still, words such as Vault, Cultivations techniques, and Essence Pool were slightly lost on him. He just knew that he needed to kill creeps and avoid colored ones than the white and grey ones to accumulate essence or coins.

There were still more numerous scrolls on the ground; hence he picked up another and unrolled it. Another screen popped in front of him with the title Magi Aptitude.

MAGI ******* Aptitude Soul *** (Moderate) Blood ** (Minor) Fire * (Petty) Wind * (Petty)

This Zef could make sense of. He delved down carefully into his memories and recalled a role-playing game he used to play in his childhood and how he would spend countless hours on it, especially during the summer when he was back from boarding school.

He recalled the use of potions alongside magic, which elements his character was proficient in, and what weapons he used, but then he quickly stalled his thinking as he knew the memory could turn into a nightmare.

Nevertheless, if his assumptions were correct, then that meant he could probably use magic or Magi as mentioned on the screen, but the question was how. Also, his best aptitude seems to be soul; no surprise there with Kadomoni Dagger dealing with essence and souls. Blood was his second-best, and the remaining ones seemed quite weak. Zef wondered if there was a way to increase one's Magi aptitude, but that is a thought for another time. There were still more scrolls to look into.

He quickly picked up the next scroll, feeling more excited.

Now, this was a surprise. A white screen showed up with arrows and colored boxes. His attention went right towards the middle of the screen.

Bloodline

The gears in his head moved as he looked at the screen, more so on the Black Gale Mantis, Volcanic Lupus, and finally Homo Sapien boxes. They seemed familiar, Homo Sapien meant human, and if he was right, then the other terms represented those creatures who fought in front of his camp.

His eyes squinted at where each box's arrow led to. Then, after a few seconds of reading, a lightbulb formed in his head. "This screen was a godsend,” he thought to himself. It filled the gaps within his thoughts as it explained a lot about the changes to his body, mentioning his keen senses, boosted intelligence, strengthened and durable frame.

Zef already knew he was a different man now, far from his past sixteen-year-old skinny frame. However, this was nuts; he was a successful Frankenstein experiment. A superhuman who can take damage and dish damage. With the ability to dodge and maneuver adequately, his keen senses would allow him to sense enemies and anomalies around him if he was prudent enough to train his mind.

However, he knew he sucked badly at using his new body. It was a lack of training in the physical arts and the unknown potential of his body. Previously he acted as a scout and sniper with the militia he was stationed with. His proficiency was in tracking, scouting, and sniping. He did get into some firefights but made it out alive several times. He only knew a few close-quarter combat techniques that were not intended to combat monsters or fantasy creatures.

He tapped his knee some more and realized where his faults were. A lack of confidence and training that he direly needed to survive with his current circumstances. Grudgingly he agreed with the Caretaker, he had been lucky, but things will change now. He had stumbled on a lair with possible water and food; hopefully, there should be some edible plants, and that lake should be drinkable. He just needed to utilize this place as his home ground, train, find a way out, kill creeps and repeat the process.

Zef was now excited as he felt he had a plan to follow through. Instead, he tried to touch the screens which stood still in the air in front of him. It only took a few minutes of experimentation to realize that he could arrange the displayed screens like one would do so on a touchscreen. Surprisingly he could also make them appear and disappear by saying open or close with their titles such as open Bloodline, Magi aptitude and instructions, and vice versa.

Satisfied with his successful attempts, Zef's golden eyes twinkled as he opened the remaining scrolls one by one and almost went blind as motes of light turned into white and blue screens.

The first screen that appeared mentioned his Essence Pool, which had many diagrams specifying all manners of creeps and their worth in coins.

It stated that his current rank was zero and that he had 100 coins. probably from that elf creep he killed earlier as she was a grey creep and an elite one too. He then noted the range of Essence Strings to control his summoned creeps snd that he wouldn't be able to summon her anytime soon until he ranked up. That was useful info for the future if he wanted to contract several creeps.
