《A Succubus System? But I'm a Virgin!》Chapter 08 - Let's Cook for Them!

When I woke up, my whole body felt sore. The sword wound was gone for good, I didn’t even feel it anymore, but sleeping on the hard, cold rock had taken quite a toll on my body.
“Owie~”
「That’s what you get for sleeping on the ground with giant, warm and furry pillows just waiting for you to use them!」
“I won’t use them!” I protested, still half asleep. “I will only lose my control again!”
「You won’t.」
“I won’t?”
「After playing with those girls, you should have more than enough life force to be safe.」
“Playing with those girls...”
「You were great, Flatty! The best!」
“Great...”
A series of vivid images appeared before my inner eye. They showed me kissing a blonde girl, undressing her and touching her basically everywhere, while she answered each of my attacks with moans and even more moans.
The black-haired woman wasn’t better off, either. She struggled at first, even more so than the blonde, but I just subjugated her with surprise, a strong grip and passionate kisses. The fight didn’t even last a minute and I once again saw us entwined and breathlessly searching for each other’s most sensitive spots.
「Shouldn’t you wake up now? They are probably anxious for round two!」
It didn’t take half a second for me to become wide awake as if Meja had decided to suddenly toss me into an ice-cold river. I opened my eyes wide, only to become petrified immediately. A blade was stuck in a crack only half an arm’s length in front of me. It wasn’t a sword, but a rather small dagger, a weapon you would only use when driven into a corner, but its message was clear.

«They could have killed me! They could easily have killed me!»
「But they didn't!」 Meja replied, trying to hold back her laughter.「That means they liked it, too!」
“They just pitied me! They thought I was harmless!”
「So what?! You are fine!」
“I’m not!”
「You are! You are uninjured, you slept and you had plenty of food!」
“Don’t call it food!”
「Playthings?」
“Friends!”
A bright laughter echoed through my mind. At first, Meja laughed about me and my weird idea of befriending the girls, then regret and despair slowly stole their way into her voice. It became weaker and weaker as if she slowly lost all hope.
“I- I’m sorry!”
「Why did you steal my body?! Why you of all those who could have gotten lost in this hellhole?」
“I didn’t want to steal your body!”
「But you did! And now you are killing me! You are slowly killing me!」
“I’m not!”
「You let my body starve! You nearly got killed by that human, too! You would be dead if it wasn’t for that bull!」
“I never wished for that to happen ...”
「At least thank him for saving you!」
“I will!”
「Not with a hug!」
“I will not sleep with him!”
「Just do it while he is sleeping! Invade his dreams!」
“I- I can’t!”
「Do you really feel sorry?!」
“I do ...”
Meja didn’t find the motivation to continue talking to me. She fell silent, for many minutes. When she still had not said anything after what had felt like half an eternity, I slowly raised up and began searching for the bull demons.
«Where are they?»

Out of the dozens of demons, I only found three, who likely had spent hours if not the whole night standing next to the entrance of the cavern, protecting my sleep from afar. They now were staring at me, their weapons in their hands and ready to receive my orders. Sadly enough, the young bull wasn’t among them.
“Where are the others?” I heard myself ask.
Their answers came immediately, in the form of half a dozen moos which could mean both anything and nothing at all. It was only when one of them pointed to the entrance of the cavern that I got a rough idea on what they were up to.
“They are searching for food?”
The demon answered with a low growl and, when he realized I couldn’t understand him, with an additional nod of his bull-like head. His comrades really were scavenging the forest for food.
“I will help them!” I immediately decided.
I heard a loud sigh somewhere in my mind, but I decided to not give it as much as a single thought. Cooking them a hearty meal wasn’t much compared to a life being saved, but I couldn’t think of anything better. Meja’s idea naturally wasn’t even worth thinking about.
«I will somehow make up for it ...»
⊱————- Extra ————-⊰
Meja: They saved my life and protected me for decades~ I am sure they will like it if I cook them a pot of soup as thanks~!
Risa: What is wrong with preparing food for them?!
Meja: Nothing, but soup is a no-go!
Risa: Soup is bad?
Meja: Give them your meat buns!
Risa: Meatbuns?
Meja: They will love your pie, too!
Risa: But I don’t have any flour.
Meja: Your oyster, your cupcake, your fruit cup!
Risa: Oyster?! I haven’t been at the sea for years!
Meja: Your cookie, your puddings, your biscuits!
Risa: They would need flour, too!
Meja: Bulls love melons, too! And peaches! Peaches are the best!
Risa: They love fruits? Why peaches?
Meja: Because they can stick their eggplants into them!
Risa: Eggplants...
Meja: Their carrots, their pickles, their eggrolls!
Risa: They have a farm?!
Meja: Yes. And dozens of big cocks that scream for attention~
Risa: Cocks...
Meja: They lay eggs! Two of them each!
Risa: Cocks don’t lay- wha- wait?! WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT!
Meja: A full course menu~

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Fourteen years ago, the world changed forever. The eternal rivalry between demons, archangels and humans ended, and the surviving races were unified in one land. Years passed, and a new society emerged along with an era without gods or religions. However, Noir, an orphan boy from the kingdom of Trinity, has not been so fortunate. Since his birth, and even before, the consequences of millennia of war have condemned him to a miserable life. The heritage of a weakened race and the legacy of a superior being have forced him to become a hero he didn't want to be.
8 239To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
