《Money Making MMO》Days 31 to 45

Another 3rd person POV, but this time it’s an NPC. I know this style seems sloppy and overused, but I’m trying for an effect. Everyone is paying attention to Evil Ginger and his antics, so I’m trying to convey that. This should be the last of the fanboyism.
“Mother! That man gets on my every last nerve! How could he just take over my position?! Mother! MOTHER!”
Gods shut this stupid son of mine up! He was such a perfect little tool for this whole charade, but who would have thought that man would ruin things?!
“Be quiet and leave me to think. You better be glad we were given such a prestigious place to stay for this little while. We will need to get you stronger so you can return and take back what is rightfully yours.”
“…Yes, Mother.”
Good, some peace and quiet. Apparently, my stupid son sent some low rate thugs to hassle a young man who didn’t wish to join his force. It was all well and good to use disposable people, but if the target is stronger than the people you send, then there’s no point.
He somehow convinced them to join him and he must have given them a strange power. Many people were surprised at their change of heart, especially since they now treat others with respect. Now that they are strong, they get all the reputation from the locals, building up their ego.
Every night, it’s some party or celebration. The people actually enjoy this new Lord and are wondering at his crazy shenanigans.
They already know how he switched common thieves to Heroes, but now he is bringing in non-Humans! What is this world coming to?! Somehow, the approval rating of this Evil Ginger is already high enough for him to just bring in some of Humanity’s worst enemies!
They are blinded and think he can change them as well. What a load of rubbish.

Just yesterday he took many normal people to hunt down Beasts! What kind of idiocy is necessary to perform such a deed?! When he returns with many deaths hanging over his head, his popularity will plummet!
They said it would be a day, but no sign of them yet. They must have died. Peh! Serves them right!
Huh?! What is that shadow? Is that a small mountain?
No…it’s a pile of Beasts! He did it! They actually did it!
I hurry and request a carriage to the city gate. It didn’t take long, and by that time, the Adventurers had just about made it as well. Apparently, a messenger had already come by and spread the news of their success.
Not one casualty?! I heard his training was a nightmare and anyone who finished could defeat a Low Level Beast by themselves, but this is ridiculous! Where did they find all the Beasts?! And are those Demons?!
Sure enough, many people seethe in anger at the sight of our worst enemies. Even worse, it was a Harpy and a Lamia. Two of the worst kind of Demons. I heard my husband’s stories he used to entertain his close friends when he thought I was asleep. I heard of those times he went ‘fishing’ for days on end.
I am pretty sure every woman on this side of the Kingdom knew of the rite of passage a man would take. He would secretly travel into the woods and have a fortuitous encounter. After the deed was done, the young man would receive a treasure as a reminder or even a way to make money.
Heh, unfortunately, any woman who sees these trinkets will automatically treat that man with disdain. I wonder what he plans to pull.
“Hello, everyone! I know the dealings between Humans and Demons are tight, but I wish to fix that! Just like helping these normal people become Heroes, or these people once thought to be enemies become friends, I hope to make these races our allies.

For too long we have warred against each other for no reason at all!”
What a load of garbage. We women will never be at peace with the Demons.
“And so I have set up a trade! Criminals for items of value or even knowledge!”
Huh? Wait, what?
“We will send the criminals of this land to be dealt with by the Demons. In return, they can retain friendly relations with us and we can achieve greater success!”
His words sound swell, but there is something else. He is devious, isn’t he? I may have to…get to know him…
But, if he sends criminals to be the Demons’ toys and slaves, then doesn’t that mean our men won’t be able to go ‘fishing’ anymore? I can already see the eyes of several women present light up in anticipation.
Wow, this man has actually grabbed the attention of everyone here. By being in friendlier terms with the Demons, the men can easily approach them with hopes of some midnight dancing. But, if the men are already married, there is no need to sneak off since the Demons already have what they want!
Most of the men are blinded by what this truly means, so they are quick to agree. The women who can see the implementations also agree. There are still some patriots and bigots who think this will only spell trouble.
That may be, but he is a revolutionary. A man who welcomes any kind of person isn’t one to be naturally hated against. He also seems to be a warrior. He gets challenged repeatedly and wins every time. He even situated an arena in the poor district. He tore down some of the small houses here and there and in return, he had built massive buildings meant to house many people.
All of those people who lost their homes were also allowed to live here for free, but they would have to register. In fact, everyone had to register. It was a form of identification that showed the people of the city were residents here.
He also implemented this system in smaller villages, making sure everyone in his region is a citizen. He built orphanages as well in the poor district. When asked about why he bothered with the trash of the city, he replied with,
“Getting those kids off the street makes the rest of the place look more respectable. Can’t have any tourists thinking we’re some backwater savages, right? It’s like pruning a rose bush!”
For some reason, that only increased his popularity. He would secretly spend money into the orphanages and procured a stable source of food and helped people get jobs. He raised the standard of living and raised the mood of the civilians. It has now been several weeks after he became Lord.
Once a week, he sends soldiers and Adventurers on the massive Beast Hunt that attracts all sorts of people. Demons and many other kinds of non-Humans are now living in the city. Evil Ginger implemented an education system that taught young ones how to read and write.
There were scholarships for the poor and soon, more establishments were created. Sure, they weren’t at the same standard as the first school, but they taught the basics. If they proved themselves there, they would get the chance to attend classes at the Academy.
Even as a gift, sending my son there was a miracle. Does he think anything of me? Could he be wanting to get on my good side? Or is he just being polite? Even if he was just trying to make sure we didn’t stab him in the back, he does a good job.
Hehe, I haven’t felt this way since my first husband! I wonder what else he is capable of.
