《Money Making MMO》Day 2.1 Leaving the Village

The user Evil Ginger walked around his establishment as he tried out several new toys he bought. The man standing at 5 feet and 4 inches tall was below average in height but made up for it in broad shoulders and rounded belly.
“Ah shit. It’s too literal.”
Evil was upset at the fact that the new Inner Narrator he bought, to save time and effort for recording his actions, was too unbiased and said how things were.
“It’s snarky, too.”
The little robot, nicknamed System by the user, was currently chasing after a 2 inch tall and 5 inch long cockroach. The little robot was unfortunate, as its components did not allow for over exertion. Eventually, the roach fled somewhere.
Evil had also bought a communications device thanks to the suggestions of the two users Dirty Sherry and Sherry Potter.
“Pbbt! Haha! It’s even funnier when it’s spoken by someone else!”
Evil was too busy laughing when a notification appeared on his computer. He got up off the bed and sat down at his $5 table to see a personal message. It was from user Jason Borat about how soldiers are here and wish to speak with him.
After logging back in, he left the inn which he stayed at to see a crowd of foot soldiers and a captain riding a gallant white steed.
‘Can this thing actually tell the rank? And can I actually hear myself think, now?’
The captain steered his horse in his direction followed by a rather weak willed man carrying a cylindrical container. Upon the captain’s gesture, the man opened the container and out fell a roll of parchment.
‘Wow, this narrator is so distracting. I actually pay more attention to it than what’s actually going on before me…’
The man unrolled the scroll and yelled aloud for those nearby to hear.

‘How annoying. Why must everyone know?’
“Dear, Loyal Citizen, for your brave actions in defeating a Demonic Beast, the Lord of Dorskovu wishes to reward you with a chance to join his personal army. You will be granted 1 Silver Coin a week as well as free food and board. The conditions are that you must train alongside the brave men of His Lordship’s private military and remain loyal to your country. He also wishes to hear your reply post haste.”
“Will I be able to work my way up the rankings and even become a Lord myself?”
“You will be working for a Lord, why would you be able to be a Lord?”
The weak man stared with confusion in his eyes as realization had not come to him. The captain, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes and curtly said,
“Do you seek the Lord’s position?”
“Not his personally, but a Lord position. Where could I go to work my way to become a high ranking person of authority?”
Instead of immediately replying, the captain shook his head as he began to trot off while saying,
“Everyone knows to receive sufficient accommodations, they must win them in the Coliseum or travel the Tower.”
“Okay, thanks.”
Evil was not all that disturbed by these people’s actions. He geared up to get ready for travel. He knew the girls had paid for a carriage, but he needed to save money, not spend it. He would also become stronger along the way.
There was no hunger or thirst to worry about, nor was there a problem with mental wear. The only problems was your personal pain tolerance and your own skill. Even a good healing Spell may fail, according to the men at the tavern. Evil had also found out that food and drink could actually empower you temporarily, like his Dances.

He visited some NPCs he had become friends with and told them he was leaving for the Coliseum. Some people even gave him a couple gifts. He had received amulets to increase certain Growths, and even some tools to help him with traveling outside.
The users Jason Borat and Darkum Knightus were still mining for ores. Evil waved bye and they replied in kind. It was time for the hairy, heavy, strong man to head out.
“Dude, what the shit. I don’t know if I want this thing anymore. Either way, I’m going to have to heavily edit it.”
During the next few hours, Evil set to work finding mining locations and killing animals. He used the things he gained to increase his lift power. Instead of depositing his loot into the Inventory, he would carry it in sacks along the way. He got attacked by bandits at one point but easily subdued them. Because of his training, he had gotten several notifications before he was ambushed.
“Congratulations! You have increased you Strength!”
“Congratulations! You have increased your Endurance!”
“Congratulations! You have increased your Speed!”
“Congratulations! You have increased your Resistance!”
“Congratulations! You have increased your Carry Limit!”
“Congratulations! You have increased your Dexterity!”
Besides just carrying the sacks, he would tie them to his body and try to run with them, as well as fighting with them on. It increased his reaction speed, which might have something to do with Dexterity.
But he did get ambushed, after all. He would need some sort of stronger sensor than just finding ore. The leader of the bandits was a gruff and stinky looking fellow with yellow teeth and sickly skin.
‘You complain a lot.’
The leader walked forward and demanded the things Evil was carrying. He just nonchalantly put them in his inventory and pulled out his hammer. The bandits were surprised, but then evilly grinned as they too pulled out their weapons. Evil readied his hammer and yelled out,
“Rush!”
Time seemed to stop as Evil seemed to almost disappear through the bandits. Everyone would have thought he had teleported, if not for the way the men in his way had flown up in the air. The bandits stood in shock as they seemed to freeze, not wanting to anger this man any further.
What they didn’t know, was that Evil actually had a period of being still, like a brief lockdown mode. Three seconds passed before Evil stood back up again, hammer in hand. The bandit leader was about to run away, when one of his men ran out of formation and attacked Evil. Evil dispatched him easily by swinging the handle portion and whacking him upside the head.
The power put into the swing wasn’t much, but it still made the man fly backwards a couple feet just like the previous guys. Evil flipped the hammer in one hand like someone would do with a knife. After a couple of flips, and counting when he would not have his weapon, the bandit leader ordered his men to attack. But the men reacted just a hair too slow and Evil once again had his hammer. But not in one hand, he had grabbed it with both hands and swung horizontally, slamming the men and smashing their armor.
From there on, Evil Ginger dealt with the rest in a calm and smooth fashion. The leader was shaking as Evil walked towards him, changing his grip on the hammer so his hand was grabbing more towards the head of the hammer, the handle dragging along the ground.
The leader only had a few more moments before his life would end.
“Please! I’m sorry! We were told to do this!”

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).

Return of Chaos
For the longest time, it was thought that the citizens of Earth were the only denizens of the galaxy incapable of developing superhuman abilities — but recent events have flipped that assumption on its head. Between Austin Travis, Mote Emerson, Pierce Bradley, and their friends, Earth is now host to 12 Chaotics… as well as a myriad of mysteries surrounding them. From a new nemesis in the form of a clone, to connections to ancient technology from a long-lost civilization, to the ability to summon powerful legendary weapons, these 12 Chaotics have unknowingly become entangled in something larger than any of them have ever imagined. As if in response to these discoveries, the sinister machinations of galactic evil are churning. The metallic infection, a calamitous nanotechnology “disease” thought to have been vanquished 20 years ago, is slowly returning — and alongside it, a number of conflicts thought to be long past. While they only seek to better grasp their own abilities, Earth’s Chaotics will soon find themselves in the crossfire of returning threats and old heroes. These superpowered Earthians may not have chosen this path through life, but it will still be up to them to determine if history remembers them — to determine if history remembers the saga of the Keys. Return of Chaos is a direct sequel to Chosen Chaos, which begins the Key Saga novel series. Be sure to read Chosen Chaos first, to understand the plot and the characters thus far! Additionally, the Key Saga as a whole takes place 20 years after Rise. You will not need to read Rise to understand the events of Return of Chaos, however the latter will spoil many of the events that occurred in Rise, due to the simple chronology of taking place later in the timeline.
