《MaoTensei!》She is Mecha.

On a regular, I would spend days doing what I did in school. The later hours volunteering around with the club and nights entertaining myself with other people's fantasy (a good way of saying I was unhealthily addicted to TV shows).
But still, I had the ideal life I asked for. A claim held true even if you considered my relationship with my housemates.
A wholesome life where everyone mattered to each other.
"Mao!" Luha called. "Hurry up or we'll miss the display!" The somewhat taller long black-haired young girl waved at me.
"I'm coming." I hurried behind her after getting out of the house. We were on the long way to school which didn't seem all that long after having traversed it some 600 trillion times or something.
Today we were in a hurry since it was the last day of the last year of Middle School. The last day meant that people had stuff to show off. Stuff that they had been building in their clubs. Or stuff that they worked hard on perfecting on the side.
The Mech club was particularly adamant about showing us their achievements. By the Mech Club, I was referring to the one member that kept on urging us to join the celebration this year- Luha.
Soon enough we reached the premises and I got frightened at the first sight- 'Dear lord did they go overboard!'
"How did they do this in one night?! The place looked completely normal yesterday!" I paused to admire the amount of detail in the decoration. Ice flowers that didn't melt in the summer heat, and torches of blue flames on either side.
Even the cloth used as the backdrop was embroidered!
"One night is more than enough time to put something like this together."-!!
A silver-haired girl practically teleported next to me. Either that or my senses ignored her altogether. Probably the latter, because teleportation was my signature move! Not hers! I sighed before putting on a composed look.
"Ahem… I will take your words lightly because any way you look at this doing all this in one night seems physically impossible." I overshadowed my face with arrogance.
"Of course it's possible! I was here last night fixing all of this up with the older folk." Yuuno bragged.
Apparently helping the staff and elderly was her thing now. That's what years of volunteering club did to someone. They turned her into a decent human being and a really normal village girl. The type that would greet everyone she came across.
I was trying hard to look for flaws, but there is nothing bad about being nice. Plus, her good deeds added to her grades.
"Well, whatever. I don't have the time to hear you gloat, Luha already ran ahead." I pointed at the fading back of the black-haired girl.

"Shall we go then too?"
"Do you know where the Mech section is?" I asked after completely losing track of our little guide.
"Of course I do! Rather, I'm surprised you don't." She put her hands over my shoulders and started pushing me ahead. Her fingers were at quite a steep angle because of her superior height.
'I swear I will overtake her someday! Whenever I hit puberty.'
"I just don't pay all that much attention to all of this."
Through a lot of hard looking around (because of an overconfident girl who thought she knew where we were headed but just ended up getting us lost) we arrived at what looked like an aircraft hangar.
{a/n: Yes, it's a Robotics;Notes reference.}
There was a crowd and a set of stalls stationed all across. There was a lot of bustle for a club that JiiJii called 'dead'. Speaking of bustle, the elderly couple from our house was here too. Obaa-chan was really persistent in securing a date with JiiJii this morning to 'relive their old days'. Neither Yuuno nor I wanted to interrupt.
Although it would be pretty good revenge for what she did to my ranking game.
"Don't even think about it." Yuuno pushed me down on the grass between the tracks.
"T-think about what?"
"I don't know, but it's probably evil."
"How could you say that?~"
Suddenly there was a small ice mirror in front of me.
"Oh." I said while looking at that cartoonishly evil grin on my face. The mirror disappeared.
"Do you want to get something to eat?" The 5'4 spawn of muscle asked.
"You just want my share too, don't you?"
"Just get two shares, I'll have one of your's." She tried to convince me.
"So that makes three hot dogs in total."
"You could do more if you want-"
"Pig."
"Did you say something?" I said that I had a superior hand in this banter.
"You want my hot dogs, right?" I sneered.
"Yes, sir." Yuuno straightened up her act.
"Did I say something about you being a pig then?"
"No, sir."
After that exchange, I ended up buying 5 hot dogs. 1 for me. 1 for Luha. 3 for the girl who burnt 20 kilocalories a day.
We took a seat on the grass between the two runway tracks.
It was really bright out, but rather than heat all I felt was a tingle of warmth and strong winds.
Today was the first time I went to an exhibit like this. But only because of how excited Luha was. Usually, I would find any excuse I could to just not do something like this. I would much rather spend this time doing something else than watching some toys go boom boom.

But, annoyingly I was kind of hyped because of Luha's excitement.
"Welcome everyone, to the annual Mech Greet!" A loudspeaker loud spoke. More specifically the woman holding the speaker- Our giant class teacher who was also the representative of the Elementary Mech's club. "Today we have built something special. Something that our club would have never dreamt of building in years in the past! And it was all thanks to this girl right here-" The announced patted the back and shimmied a person on stage. "Give it up for Enoni Luha!"
As soon as her name came up, I pushed Yuuno's side and she tumbled over, hot dog first.
"LOOK LUHA'S UP ON STAGE! SHE'S UP! SHE'S UP!" Our cute little baby was now the centre of the town's attention. I didn't know I would be this proud. What was even going on with me?
Everything felt warm and tingly inside.
"Dude, keep your panties on. Stop acting like her mother." Yuuno wiped the grass off her hot dog before taking a bit.
"Shut up! Your pupils are just as dilated as mine!"
That hypocritic wench.
"Now if you would give us some of your words, Enoni-chan." The mic got handed to my little sister.
"Umm… Hello, I am Enoni Luha from third year elementary. I- along with my other club mates made the mecha you will be seeing in a moment from now. I hope that you enjoy our display."
Just as she said that the gates to the warehouse started to lift. And as they did something became very clear. The Mech's club was neither pulling punches nor trying to hold itself to elementary level.
What I witnessed- No what everyone on the hangar witnessed was something that a group of kids should have been incapable of making.
With steps and stride came out a Goliath. A robot at least 30 metres tall. Yet a robot that moved naturally as if it was just a giant wearing armour.
There was the school's chevron logo plastered atop and graffiti all over its plates.
"I thought this club was supposed to be dead. That's what JiiJii said." I let out.
"In his defence, it was pretty dead until last year." Yuuno commented. Unlike me, she actually attended the end of year event. And still somehow managed to forget where the hangar was.
I turned around to see her hot dog on the grass and this time it wasn't my fault. It wasn't just her. There were at least 20 hot dogs on the floor with jaws to accompany them.
We could have fed an entire poor village for 2 weeks with that kind of food.
"So… how did you come up with such an idea?" The announcer was the first to regain her attentiveness.
"I played wi-"
"Don't say 'You played with legos as a kid and just got better'. You are still young enough to be playing with legos."
"As I was saying… I played with hydraulic stuff when I was a kid and the concept of moving parts and engineering became fascinating to me. So I learnt other skills required to pursue them… Which landed me here." She said in a confident and professional manner.
"Ah." I could hear her voice slightly tinged with annoyance.
"And how did the idea of making a mech come to you?"
"Well, we are a Mech Club… And programming human movements and constructing human joints onto a piece of metal was intriguing. Unfortunately, the human form isn't all that stable so for travelling we let this thing turn into a vehicle."
The crowd which was already silent went even more silent.
"A-Are you telling me this thing is a transformer?" The announcer mustered up the courage to ask.
"No a transformer steps the electric voltage up or down, this can transform into cars." She dumbed the process down to a reasonable level.
"I meant the movie transformer." She tried to correct it.
"There's a movie like that?"
"Enoni-chan you are really putting my age up on the spot here."
"Tch. Announcer crap. She was the one who brought it up." I muttered while biting my nail. How dare she try and bring her age into Luha's presentation.
"Hehe… I didn't mean it that way."
"Enoni-chan, can you show us how it transforms then?"
"I can."
Luha put her palm up to the robot and the hologram on her hand lit up.
With that one light, the mecha turned into a liqui- No… did it turn into smaller particles… subunits?
All the units aligned themselves in a new pattern- A truck.
"Now that's just Optimum Prime." The announcer complained.
"No! It's a Mercedes truck! Can't you see that? If anything this is closer to Galvatrom!" Unable to bear with her terrible attitude I finally heckled. "ALSO THAT'S MY LITTLE SISTER! I'M SO PROU-" Yuuno shoved a hot dog down my throat and knocked me down.
I could hear the little giggles of Luha from the stage.
Coming to the event was totally worth it. I didn't know I was raising a genius until I saw her do her thing. It felt incredible.
I regretted giving in to the old man's whims and joining the volunteering club.
The rest of the event was one technical flex after another. Luha really was an amazing individual.

When a corrupt corporate conspiracy threatens to tear them apart, they blast back with their offbeat brand of crime and chaos. This story is just one from the pulps. This is Nippoten’s second serial following the superhero epic Entirely Presenting You. This novel will have a rather unique release schedule compared to others. Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis.
