{a/n: this is a prologue sorta thing from Yuuno's POV before she reincarnated.}
Leaving the Shrine - 1 Day.
My life was almost a perfect wreck.
Right after my parents passed away, I was accepted by the shrine. What I received there was not contempt or pity, but the warmth from everyone around me. A family better than the one I had.
I couldn't possibly be more grateful... I really couldn't...
Until they forced an even greater present onto me. A present that made me feel more honoured than ever before.
Under the Shrine's will, I was bound to be the next hero of the World. The Yuusha. An existence forged to destroy the Demon Lord. That was what I was to become.
###
"****, are you ready for your rebirth?" The head priest asked. He was the man who replaced the role of my deceased father. The father who would come home and hit me was now replaced by a father who would pat my head and smile wide whenever I accomplished a new feat.
{a/n: '****' Is her name before she turned into the Hero. I censored it. Might reveal it later. :P}
I nodded.
"Heed this. After you come back, you shall be known only as Yuusha. Your sole identity is the hope of our world."
I was going to become what everyone wanted to be. The dreams kids had, the fantasies of adults who wanted more in life.
I was going to be on the pinnacle of humanity.
"I understand!" I committed while standing atop an alter. The Shrine was large and I was at the centre. It felt like I was at the centre of the world.
Spells were cast and my consciousness drifted away. I was being dragged to a realm beyond ours. The place where I would receive my blessing.

The light that was blinding me slowly drifted away and my eyes could focus again.
Floating in a mass of white in front of me was a large existence. She was hundreds of metres away but still filled my sight.
A divine white dress, a veiled face... beyond me was none other than the goddess. A being no one could ever hope to fathom.
"Sup! ****! You must be the designated hero that I was supposed to give my blessing to!" The goddess shrunk down to the size of a normal human and started circling me. "Gotta say tho, you are pretty young. 13 is it?"
"Yes." I immediately got caught up in her pace.
Rather. I was too nervous to say anything. I couldn't even dare to ask her why she was talking in that weird manner.
"Well whatevs... I'm sure you'll get stronger in your journey."
"I will try." The more erratically she acted around, the more she started to seem a little uh how do I say this... not so okay in the head.
The goddess stopped.
"I'll have you know that I'm very okay in the head, young lady."
"Wait, you can read my thought?! I apologise!"
"Issa fine! I wasn't gonna off you or something. Gods gotta be forgivin'. I'm no Demon Lord! Haha!" She started circling around me. "Really... I am not a Demon Lord. Don't try to kill me, m'kay? Kill the real deal."
"Yes, I understand."
"I would ask you to, you know, introduce yourself before the ceremony but I already know everything about you." Her hand rank across my back. "So should we get this started?"
"Uhhh, yes."
The goddess' palm was now squared between my shoulder blades and a surge ran through my entire body.

"Woaahhh!"
"I know right? Isn't this totally dope?" She retracted her hand back and put herself in front of me. "I'm done with the blessing."
"That was it? The ceremony was pretty short..."
"Of course it was! I am a goddess after all. As an added bonus I even dyed your hair pinkish! And you can feel other people's goodwill... That should motivate you!"
"Wait a minute... You did what?"
"Allowed you to feel goodwill."
"No before that."
"Gave you powers?"
"After that."
"I dyed your hair purple!" I wanted to be concerned but I didn't know what dyeing was.
Was it the same 'dying' I knew of? The things my parents did? Did she kill my hair? Was I going to be a bald hero?
{a/n: ONEEE PUNNNNCHHHH!}
"What's that?"
"Like 2990 years from now people got really into dyeing their hair so I did that to you. Bringing the trend back to our era, ya know?"
"How do you even know about 2990 years from now?"
"It's only natural that I know! I am the goddess of time! Coincidentally that's also your attribute now. Time manipulation. Oh, shuck... looks like Cleo-tan is calling me. Gotta pop! See ya someday! BYEEEE!"
"Wai-" Our farewell was as abrupt as our meeting.
My eyes were forced shut.
When I opened my eyes there was the normal crowd of the 5 priests and nuns standing in front of me. Their faces twisted in horror.
"What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked.
"Y-Your hair." One of the nuns spoke.
"YOUR HAIR LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE WENCH'S FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT!" Somewhere far away I saw a reflection. The reflection of a 13-year-old with light pink hair and blue eyes.
I looked like I seduced men for money.
IS THAT WHAT DYEING WAS? CRAP!
"GET ME MY PALADIN SUIT!" I could not bear to be seen like this in front of anyone else. That was the last time anyone would ever see my face.
"Also, how do you know what the wench's in the entertainment district look like, head priest?" I heard a nun say in the background.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
