“What?” Izuku’s eyes were wide as he stated up at the two heroes.

“What Sho is trying to say is…we’d like to adopt you two, if you’d let us?” Yamada asked, his smile wobbly as he shifted from foot to foot. “You’re both such amazing kids and we know your parents aren’t in the picture and we just care for you so much and we want you two to be taken care of and protected and-“

“YES!” Izuku blurted out, cutting the man off from his ramble. He blinked, looking up at his sister. “Um….I-I mean…”

“He means yes,” Yui smiled softly, “If you really want us both. Even if you just want Izu, you’re stuck with me.”

“We want both of you problem children.” Aizawa rolled his eyes, but they could all see the little curve of his lips.

“You really want us to be your dads?” Mic asked, bouncing a bit in place.

“You pretty much already are. You pack us snacks for our patrols,” Yui chuckled before the door opened and Recovery Girl walked in.

“Granny!” Izuku smiled, “Thank you so much for healing me and doing the surgery on my hand!”

“You don’t have to thank me, Izuku, just don’t do that again. This old heart can only handle so much. It’s good to see you awake but you shouldn’t be moving around so much. Come on, back in bed.” She waved her cane at him. He chuckled as he laid back down.

She pointed the cane at Yui, her eyes narrowed, “And you! You know how many injuries I cataloged from your x-rays? You have two bullet fragments in your arm! Multiple healed breaks and fractures in your arms and ribs! You’ve been breaking bones since around the time you were five!”

She blinked at her, raising an eyebrow as she frowned. “Well, yeah…Granny. But that’s all old. Only the injuries from Voltage and a few others are anything recent. The bullet fragments have been in there since I was like eight. They don’t really bother me.”

“You and I will be sitting down one day to discuss this, young lady! And I’ll be getting those out of there! You can’t be walking around with shrapnel in your arm and fighting. Thank Kami you won’t be doing this vigilante business anymore!” She raised her hands up in exasperation.

“What do you mean…we won’t be vigilantes anymore?” Yui winced at her brother’s question, sounding shocked and lost, “I…is this about my hand? I can still be a vigilante! I can learn how to adapt!”

“Izu…we have to stop. I was going to tell you later but…” She cleared her throat as she looked into those wide emerald eyes filled with pain and confusion. “Voltage is talking about us, the Commission is going to start sending their top tiers against us if we don’t stop. And as much as I’d love to beat Endeavor’s ass, I really don’t want to go up against All Might.”

He clenched his good hand in the sheets, “B-But…”

“But, I did speak with Nedzu, and he has plans to help us as long as we do something for him.”

“Nedzu?! You mean the principal of U.A.?! The smartest creature on the planet?! Wait, is that a U.A. tracksuit? Are we at U.A.?!” he rambled, his eyes wide.

Yui put her hand over his, “Yes, we needed a safe location for Granny to fix you up. And I was…pretty bloody from the fight so Eraser had me shower and gave this to me.”

“I can’t believe we’re actually inside U.A…wh-what did Nedzu want from us?” he asked softly, biting his lip.

Yui felt her lips stretch in her signature grin, “He wants us to attend U.A.”

There was a long moment where Izuku’s face was completely blank, the only sound the steady beeping of the heart monitor slowly picking up its pace before the green haired teen blurted out,

“WHAT?!!”

Days passed in a rush, Izuku being forced to take it easy and start the beginnings of his physical therapy, Yui herself had to have the talk about her past with Recovery Girl. And the elderly heroine was steaming at the end, looking like she wanted to go to Tartarus just to hit her donors with her cane. But the pieces had been able to be removed with surgery, and now she had exercises to help the arm move, which would help with the jagged electrical burn scars on her forearms and the right hand, the scars were still pretty bright even after Granny had used her Quirk, and had taken on a lavender tint. They also had to have a talk about her right ear, the damage had been bad, and there was no saving the steady loss of hearing in that ear. But a hearing aid was an option and Recovery Girl had already asked a friend of hers to make one. Yamada had even told her that he wore them because of the backlash of his Quirk, he’d even bought her some books on sign language and was teaching her some things. So Yui didn’t really find herself caring, like her scars, she had survived, Izu was recovering, and their lives were moving forward.

That was why she was standing in their apartment, with Izuku, Eraser and Mic, and totes to pack their stuff up before they moved to their new house. The heroes had bought a new house for them to move into! It felt so…normal? A family living in a nice neighborhood that was close enough to U.A….it was so fucking surreal.

“I can’t believe we’re actually moving…” Izuku was helping pack the books from the shelves as Yui did the games and movies. Mic was in the kitchen and bemoaning their food choices as he packed. Eraser was helping Izuku with the books, raising an eyebrow at some of them.

“I…is it weird that I don’t want to leave?” the words slipped out of her mouth before she could bite them back. “I just…before, with my parents, we moved so often that we never decorated. And we’ve been here for years.”

She looked up at the ceiling, seeing the remains of the scorch mark that Dabi had left when Himiko and Izu had scared him wearing zombie makeup for Halloween. The couch had to be replaced after that. There was the little, penny-sized piece of carpet that still had traces of hot pink nail polish no matter what Yui had tried to get it out. She could see indent in the wall that Izu had left by kicking off of it to escape from Himiko’s tickle fight. She had tried her best to repair any damage but she still planned on giving Mrs. Noriko extra money to cover the repairs. Maybe they should make her some cookies for putting up with them for so long? She really had been a sweet lady to them during their time here.

“It’s not strange, kiddo. This place is your home, you have memories here that you want to cherish.” Eraser’s voice was soft as he ruffled her hair. “You have any photos?”

“Yeah! We have a huge album of them!” Izuku held up the gigantic photo album, the white cover sporting a picture of the two vigilantes and their pseudo siblings. It was also decorated with a bunch of stickers, glitter hearts and Dabi had scorched the corner a bit as proof that he ‘helped’ decorate.

“There’s pictures of you two in there too, from father’s day and other stuff.”

Mic came in with a tote stocked with all the food from the kitchen, “Really? We are definitely going through that when we get home! I’m going to take this down to the truck, I’ll be right back!”

Yui finished with her section, “Your room is already done, right, Izu? I can go grab those totes.”

“Thank you, Nee-chan! The duffle bag has my weights so just be careful.” He smiled as he grabbed the last book, putting it in the tote. “I’ll get the stuff in the bathroom.”

“I’ll take this down, was the bookshelf yours or part of the décor?” Eraser asked.

“Mrs. Noriko’s. All of the furniture is.” Izu smiled before heading to the bathroom and Eraser headed out with the tote, grunting softly.

Yui smiled softly as she went to grab the totes from their rooms. Her room looked so barren without the blueprints on the walls, or the textbooks on the bookshelf or the projects on her desk. It was almost like…like she was back with her parents, the bare walls and no personality to be seen. Like she was just a nobody going to another blank slate and it’d never change and it would just keep repeating repeating repeating-

Two strong arms wrapped around her, the scent of mint and eucalyptus reaching her nose. “Yui-nee? Are you okay?” that sweet, worried voice bringing her back from her whirlpool of memories and fear.

She breathed in deeply, closing her eyes as she leaned back against him. “Yeah, just…a bad thought. I’m fine, green bean.”

“I’m going to miss it here too, it’s just been us for a while. It’s kinda like when Dabi and Himi-chan moved out. I got so used to them that when they left, it felt empty here.” He said softly, his forehead pressed between her shoulder blades.

“Kami, I miss Himi singing off-key when she vacuumed.” She chuckled.

“Or Dabi trying to cook bacon with his fire and setting off the smoke detector.” Izuku giggled, “And you’d chase him out of the kitchen with the broom.”

“It still has the scorch marks!” She chuckled before she sighed softly as she pulled away, reaching down to pick up a tote. “You feeling okay? With moving?”

“Yeah! Nee-chan we’re getting adopted by our two favorite heroes! We’ll be together and we’ll be a family! Like legally. Dabi and Himi-chan already know they can visit or we can go see them. And you won’t have to disguise yourself in public!”

“Awww, I liked having the curls.” She teased as they walked out to the truck, Izuku carrying a duffle bag with his good hand.

“You wouldn’t if they were real. They take so much work!” He grumbled as they put their haul in with the rest.

“The one-time Dabi had tried to brush it…it just became a frizzy mess. You looked like broccoli.” The elder teen snickered, dodging the half-hearted punch the younger sent at her.

“Yours gets staticky!” His cheeks puffed out.

“And glows a bit when I play with electricity. I know you’re jealous.”

“If you’re bickering, are we done?” Aizawa huffed, the duffle bag with the weights clinking as he set it down.

“We finished with green bean’s room.” Mic smiled as he dusted off his hands.

“I just have one more tote. I’ll be right back.” Yui was quick to go back, grabbing the last tote and leaving the room. She slowed in the living room, flashing back on the memories they’d made since living here. She blinked a few tears from her eyes before she smiled as she stepped through the doorway.

It was time to make some new memories.
