《When Paths Converge: A MHA Fanfic》2. There's Always a Price

Izuku couldn’t keep the smile off his face, even as their time at the café had passed way too quickly. Yui-nee had even given him the bag of muffins! And he had the fruit basket and his leftovers from the café! If he planned it right he’d have food for the rest of the week.
He was practically skipping as they came up on the beach. Sure it was covered in trash but he’d managed to clear out a path to the bus, and it was roomy in there even if it smelled a little moldy and like sweat and the roof only had one little leak!
He smiled at the girl that had made his day, they were at the top of the stairs, the waves crashed against the beach and a cool breeze danced across their skin. Yui-nee’s dark gray hair blew around her face, the tips were a bright teal that almost looked like it was glowing as the sun started to set. He wondered what her Quirk was, what if it was healing? She was so nice, it had to be something cool! She held herself with a confidence he’d only seen in powerful Quirk users. Would she be okay if he asked? Izuku’s hands twitched, ready to write down everything about his new friend.
“You really live here, huh?” Her voice was close to a monotone, and a little deeper than other girls he was used to, but she was older, maybe that was normal? Wait, focus…
“Um…yeah, I live in the bus, but it’s really okay!” He smiled at her, rocking back and forth on his heels.
“How long have you…been here?”
“Oh, just about a month! I still go to school so I won’t get behind and I keep my uniform there so it doesn’t smell like the beach and I can shower there!”

“The teachers don’t notice? What about your friends?”
Izuku looked away from her at the question, his shoulders hunching in as he bit down on his lip. “Well, the teachers don’t really care about me, and I don’t have…friends.” He admitted, scuffing a foot on the stair.
Yui-nee’s hands clenched as her arms shook, was she going to hit him? Was she mad that she was nice to the Quirkless loser? He looked away from her, trying to stop his body from shaking but he couldn’t stop the tremor in his fingers.
“Will you really be okay here, Izu?” Her voice was soft, and he looked up to see a look in those teal eyes that was sad?
“Yeah! I’m used to the bus and everyone avoids the beach except to dump stuff. I made sure the emergency exits on the bus worked and that there isn’t anything blocking the way out. I’ll be fine!” He beamed up at her. She wasn’t mad at him, but for him maybe? His shoulders slumped in relief.
“Alright…I’ll be back tomorrow, around six in the evening. You should be here, right?”
Izuku’s head snapped up to look at her, his eyes wide “Y-Yeah! I’ll be here!” He squeaked out.
Her lips curled in a small smile, “I’ll see you tomorrow, Izu, take care, okay?”
He nodded, “I-I will! Take care Yui-nee!” He smiled as she turned and started to walk away. He watched until she turned down an alley and was gone from his sight. His hands tightened around the basket’s handle. “Mom….I think I finally have a friend…” A soft breeze ruffled his curls as he blinked back a few tears from his eyes.
He turned to go down the stairs, before he paused “I forgot to ask her about her Quirk!"

Yui sighed before she opened the door of the apartment. It didn’t look much different since they’d moved in, it’d came furnished, the only thing that was different were the knives and tools on the coffee table and her father’s laptop. They’d been there about a year and the whole apartment had the bare minimum to show that three people lived here. Why make it a home if you had to leave at the drop of a hat?
“Yui.” The girl tried not to stiffen at the cold tone. Her mother walked out of the bedroom, her black hair cut in a no nonsense bob style, her blue eyes as cold as the Mariana trench. “What were you doing out so late?”
She met those cold, calculating eyes, her answer already on her tongue. You couldn’t hesitate with this woman, “I stayed too late at the café, I’m sorry I didn’t text you.”
She tilted her head as she walked up to her, “You’re going to have to stop going there eventually, it’s becoming a pattern.” Her fingers circled around her upper arm, those manicured nails digging in despite the hoodie she wore. “You don’t want to become predictable, do you, dear?”
“Of course not, but I never do my work there. The owner knows me, I think she’d be suspicious if I suddenly stopped going.” Her voice was calm, even as she felt the warm trickle slide down her arm. Dammit, she liked this hoodie, and getting blood out was a bitch.
“Fine, but start to distance yourself. Did you do what we asked?”
“Yes, your target’s security code to get in through the front door is 843251, the backdoor is 987294. Based on his schedule and the patterns on his door and nothing saved on his phone or computer proving otherwise, he will be home by nine p.m. tomorrow night, and asleep by 12:35 a.m. No pets, and unless he picks up a date, he will be alone. Based on social media, he is not dating anyone long term and the last hook up was two days ago, and he seems to only pick up women on Friday nights when he goes to the Golden Dragon. Tomorrow being Wednesday, he should stick with his pattern.” Her voice dropped into a slight monotone as she relayed the information on the Hero Commission stooge her parents were currently targeting.
Miyu Andenryū looked down at her only daughter, waiting to see if she would fidget or look away. When she made no move to, she nodded. “That is sufficient, now…I believe we have time for a training session.” She let go of her arm, red under her nails as she picked up a dagger from the coffee table. “After all, you were late getting back. I can’t have you getting lax.”
Yui knew that everything in this life came at a price, whether it cost money, blood, flesh or sanity. But it was fine, even as she shifted her stance, bending her knees as the woman who was supposed to be a mother came at her with a cruel glee in those sapphire eyes, Yui wouldn’t have changed stopping to meet the boy with viridian curls and a smile that could rival the sun. And it wouldn’t stop her from going to see him tomorrow. Even if she had to pay in blood again.

Long Island
Long Island was not the first virtual reality game or to say a VRMMORPG. Not the one which changed the world and became a legend. No, it was made when there were lots (quite a few) of virtual reality games already on the market. Each game had its own unique AI feature, its own unique adventure, promising everyone a chance to become King, if not a God. In such a time Long Island was made. Just a little different, just a little unique. A normal guy was starting his own adventure, in life and in game.Note - Adding a cover made by someone I connected through wattpad: @DameCarnelian. Just a warning, it is not an accurate representation. The ship is not Raka's ship so avoid any confusion in that regard.

8 84Sitting Under a Torn Umbrella
Man is for man - this is an old slogan today. It has lost its uniqueness for the cause of self-centred mentality. Now we cannot hear the chorus songs of unity. Rather the sound of cacophony always do disturb our hearing organ by imposing acute disparity. We don't fly the flag of harmony, uncompromising corrupted selfish hands try to disconnect the rope of the flying flag to take undue advantage. Human being lacks of humane quality. Strangulation of faith is seen here and there. We are losing hope day by day. The act of deflowering is an art. The dignity of woman is mercilessly crushing under the wheel of gender inequality. Filial piety sinks into the ocean of disbelief. Every moment we do feel pangs of neglect sitting under a torn umbrella.
