Florianne walked with Kyle to the lunch room, and they got in line to get something to eat. Meals were covered by the school and they had an hour to eat before the next class.
"Oh hey Micky." Kyle had fished his memories for everything from before he entered Oblivion again, and he could remember the day of and after entering the school.
"Hey Kyle, good to see ya. We're sitting over there when you get out of the line." Micky pointed to a table in the corner of the room. Kyle could also see Jocelyn sitting there, and a few other people.
"Okay cool." Micky walked away and sat next to Jocelyn, and Kyle looked around at the rest of the cafeteria. There were many students in blue robes, and sitting in the far corner was Beth.
Beth had on her blue robe when Kyle saw her in the morning, but she was not talking to anyone. She just sat there in the corner by herself. Her dark blonde hair was going behind her head, so she wasn't hiding herself, just nobody talked to her.
"Hey hold my place in line, Florianne." Kyle said and then walked off towards Beth.
"Yeah sure." Florianne agreed and watched him walk away.
"Hey Beth, what are you doing all the way over here?" Kyle asked her when he got to the table. She had already started eating her food, and was about 1/6 of the way through it.
"Why did that other girl want to see you?" Beth looked up at Kyle when she saw him. Beth knew who Florianne was, but did not know the relation between her and Kyle.
"I made a few friends on the day before the ceremony. You should sit with us over there." Kyle pointed to where Micky and Jocelyn was sitting.
"Okay, I'll wait for you to get your lunch." Beth got up and walked towards the table, and Kyle went back into the lunch line. The line had only moved a few people while he was gone.
"Who is that girl Kyle?" Beth may have known Florianne, but Florianne did not know Beth.
"That is Beth. She is from the same town as me." Kyle answered Florianne as the line moved up a little.
"You shouldn't talk to her. She just sleeps all class long in Ethics." Florianne did not like Beth. Kyle thought for a moment and then replied to that comment.
"Yeah, that sounds like her." Kyle could remember when they were in the Thornberry school. It was not ago that Beth slept through history and math.
The two of them got their lunches and then went to sit with Micky and Jocelyn. Beth was standing at the other side of the table trying to get the 4 people sitting down to move.
"Hey, these seats are already taken." One of the boys said.
"You can't sit here" A girl said.
"Go back to your normal table." Another boy said.
"Hey, have you met my friend Beth?" Kyle spoke up as he got closer to the table.
"She is your friend?" Jocelyn looked wide eyed at Kyle and then at Beth, and then back to Kyle.
"Yeah, I asked her to sit with us. Is that alright?" Kyle did not understand why Beth was not being allowed to sit, but he asked if it was okay. If it was not okay, he would sit elsewhere.
"Well if they really are your friend then it's fine. I just didn't think you would be friends with this kind of girl." Micky waved his hand and the four people moved to the other end of the table. Kyle at down with Beth on his left and then Florianne sat on his right.

"Well we've known each other for a while." Kyle started to eat his food and felt something strange from his right side.
Across the table, Jocelyn had her arm around Micky's right arm and Micky was eating with a fork in his left hand. Jocelyn was making eye contact with Florianne as if trying to tell her to do the same, and Florianne did.
"Um, Florianne?" Kyle could always switch to using his other hand to eat with, but when Beth saw what Florianne was doing she did the same thing. Like this, Kyle was trapped.
"What is it Kyle?" Florianne ate her lunch with her right hand. The lunch was a mix of mystery meat and potatoes.
"I can't eat when you have my arm like this." Kyle looked at their arms and then up at Florianne.
"Oh, right." Florianne was disappointed and let go of Kyle.
Kyle was able to finish eating his lunch and then Florianne put her arm around Kyle's again. The 5 of them chatted for a little bit about the school, with Beth saying the least, even less than Kyle.
The next period was earth magic with Micky and Jocelyn. The classroom was in another building, and it had mostly boys. Jocelyn was one of 3 girls.
"Afternoon students. We have someone here who was hasn't been able to come for a while, but I hope he can become a strong mage like the rest of you. Would you like to introduce yourself?" The professor was at the front of the room when class started and spoke about Kyle.
"I'll introduce him." Micky stood up and spoke out. He put his right hand to the side as is presenting Kyle.
"This is Kyle. He is a full-type and my friend." Micky sat down like he had accomplished something. Some of the other students in the room looked afraid of Micky for a second, and they turned the fearful gazes to Kyle.
'What have you been doing here Micky?' Kyle thought as he looked back at everyone.
"Well, now that that is over with, let's continue with the basic spell Form." The professor wrote the chant on the board and then sat down at his desk. The chant for this spell was about 15 words long. Form just made a shape with stone, so it could not be used in combat where time was important.
"That was professor Toto. He makes really big stuff with his earth magic." Micky said as he faced Kyle. Everyone in the classroom was splitting up into groups, and as if calling Kyle his friend made him untouchable, nobody wanted to group with Kyle.
"You can practice with me and Jocelyn while you learn how to make the spell. [Form]" Micky cast the spell and from his hands came a ball. It was a very round, brown ball.
"Just look at us. [Form]" Jocelyn cast the spell and moved her hands quickly and made a cube.
"Yeah, I've done this kind of things before. [Form]" Moving the hands to form an object made it easier, but was not required. Kyle chanted and moved his hands a little and made a pyramid.
"Wow that is really good Kyle." Micky and Jocelyn were both impressed.
The earth class continued for a while, but Micky and Jocelyn knew when it stop casting spells before their mana was all gone. Kyle had not planned to use up all his mana the last few times he did it, but there was no way to tell how long your mana would last unless you counted your spells.

Kyle went to Fire class without Micky because he walked with Jocelyn to her next class. Micky had the first 3 classes of the day with Jocelyn, but was unable to get a Fire class with her too. Kyle waited at the entrance for Micky to show up. Once he did, they both entered the classroom.
"This is professor Genesis' class. He is real big on small fires." Micky sat near the windows.
"You should sit behind me, the heat from everyone's fire will not be as bad at the window." Kyle took his advice and sat behind Micky. The class started about 10 minutes later.
"Hello everyone, I was told today that a Kyle Mercer would be joining us. Stand up and introduce yourself." Genesis looked around the classroom, but could not find Kyle.
"Kyle Mercer." Kyle stood up and said his name, then sat back down.
"Good enough. Every get back to working on [Flame] and take turns using the windows for [Fireball] because it is great outside!" Genesis sat at his desk and didn't even write the chants on the board. This class was practicing 2nd tier spells unlike the other classes.
"Do you know the chant for Flame or Fireball Kyle?" Micky asked him as he stood up from his seat.
"Yeah, I know them. [Fireball]." Kyle did the chant for Fireball and it shot a ball of flame out of his hand and out the window. If someone was outside, they might have gotten hurt, but the fireball was shot into the air, so it was unlikely anyone would be hit. The fireball dissipated after a short distance.
"Wow Kyle, you are really good at this too." Micky was once again surprised by Kyle.
"Yeah, I try." Kyle shrugged and said.
'I try to not show off too much.' He thought. He was going to ease into being the best mage ever.
Fire class ended almost 2 hours later after many people exhausted their mana one or twice. Kyle pretended to use it all up after 10 spells, and held his head like he did in Healing class.
After 4th period was over, Kyle and Micky started walking out of the building, but someone called Kyle's name.
"Kyle!" Kyle looked around and saw Beth trying to get through the crowd in the hallway. Beth was shorter than most of the people in the hall, but Kyle could recognize her partial face and dark blonde hair.
"Go on without me Micky." Kyle turned to Micky and then spoke.
"Yeah sure." Micky turned away and walked down the hall. Kyle stood there for a little bit for Beth to make her way to him.
"What is it Beth?" Kyle asked her when she got to him.
"You are going to visit me tonight right?" Beth was hopeful because of what Kyle had said to her before she left the medical ward.
"I said I found a way didn't I? When do you want me to come there?"
"Right now." Beth was serious when she said this and looked at Kyle.
"Right now? I guess I can do it... what room were you again?" Kyle needed a reminder on Beth's room number because he only heard it once, and never even saw it.
"It's room 84."
"Okay, i'll be there as soon as possible. Just be waiting for when I get there." Kyle saw Beth off and then he went to the back of the building. From the back of the building, Kyle used the abiit form and verified that him and everything he was carrying was invisible.
Kyle knew he was pressed for time, so he used the floating-swan style of swords to move across the school grounds quickly. At the girl's dorm, Kyle waiting for a pair of girls to go in, and then he followed them inside.
"Did you hear that?"
"Yeah, sounded like someone dropped a pen."
"I don't see anything."
"It was probably nothing."
The two girls commented on Kyle's footsteps as he jumped inside behind them. If he used the hidden-dragon assassination style, he could be silent, but like many times before, Kyle had a lapse in judgment.
The girl's dorm was very similar to the boys, and Kyle went up to the 3rd floor to find Beth's room. He had only been in abiit form for 20 minutes, and from the last time he used it he guessed he had 2 hours total use time.
Beth's room was near the stairs, and the door was slightly open. Kyle pushed the door open a little more and looked inside. Beth was sitting on the bed looking at a book. Kyle entered the room and closed the door, earning a look from Beth.
"I'm here." Kyle deactivated his abiit form and looked at Beth. Beth had the most amazed and rage filled look Kyle had ever seen. Kyle was a little taken back, but he just stood there.
"I thought you would climb in through the window or something, not become see-through!" Beth could not believe what Kyle had done. It was something she hadn't even read about in books.
"You told me to find a way, so I did!" Kyle said to her loudly. Kyle had done everything like she said, even if it was not how she expected.
"Shh. Be quieter, they don't let boys in the girls dorm." Beth urged Kyle to talk softer, and Kyle lost track of how loud he was being. Beth got up and locked the door to the room, then turned to look at Kyle.
"What happened after I walked back to the dorms?" Beth asked him.
"Well, I was practicing with this and then, something just came over me. It's hard to explain and I don't really know what caused it." Kyle shrugged as he walked further in the room. Next to Beth's bed was one that looked a little a little more girly.
"That is Kristen, my roommate's, bed." Beth said as she walked to her bed and sat down. Kyle did not sit on the beds, and instead leaned against the wall.
"So why did you want me to come here?" Kyle looked at Beth sitting on the bed and asked her.
"Well, I- um, I- I wanted to learn more spells from you." Kyle was not the only one who could make things up on the spot, but he was the only one good at it in the room.
"Okay, what kind of spells?" Kyle wanted to know what Beth wanted to learn. He would be able to teach her anything other than the legendary spells. Normal people just could not learn those. Summoning and Status magic was entirely different though. Kyle didn't think anyone should learn those two, and they earned their titles Forbidden and Forgotten.
"I want to learn more lightning spells." Beth was already good at lightning, and it was a very powerful type. Her ability was probably from the special practice she did with Kyle at her home, and Kyle was not looking forward to more of that. Kyle looked around and did not see any carpet or rugs though.
"Well, the next spell for a lightning mage is Static. It will cover your whole body."
"Can you show me it?"
"Yeah sure. [Static]." Kyle did the chant and his entire body was encased in electricity. Kyle used very low power, and it did not damage anything.
*Knock Knock Knock*
"Hey Beth are you in there?" Someone was at the door, and Kyle turned off the spell.
"Who is that?" Kyle whispered, but he had a feeling who it was.
"That is Kristen." Beth whispered too. "Just a second and i'll unlock it." Then she spoke louder so Kristen at the door could hear. "Go see-through again." Beth whispered.
"It's called invisible." Kyle whispered as he entered abiit form.
"Hey Beth, you don't lock the door often. Something up?" Kyle watched from the corner as Kristen entered the room. Kristen had light brown hair that was curly down to her shoulders. The blue robe went well with her, and Kyle had no complaints. Except he was now stuck in Beth's room, unable to get past. her.
"I'm fine, I just wanted to read my book in quite." Beth held up the book with one hand and looked at the cover. Beth looked around the room without moving her head, but could not find Kyle.
"Oh okay. You should really come out with my friend and me, it would be reeellly fun!" Kristen had several friends that hung out almost every day. She sometimes tried to get Beth to come, but Beth would always decline.
"I'm fine... I'll be right back, I have to use the restroom." Beth got up and started walking to the door.
"I'll go with you." Kristen moved out of the room and was followed by Beth.
When the two girls left the room, Kyle sneaked out closely behind them.
