"He's a rank four, one of the best out there, and as for having monster-like grandchildren, Gin and Fionn are not his biological grandchildren; they're both adopted," Keith replied honestly.
"Really? So why don't you invite him to join us? "Apollo inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"He wanted to join us a long time ago, but now he won't because he has a big score to settle," Keith said, his face sad.
"Why not? If he joins us, we can assist him in exacting his vengeance. Who could be a better ally than us?" Apollo was adamant.
"Trust me, you don't want to get involved in his case; it involves too many big shots," Keith stated solemnly.
"Big shots, do you think I'm afraid of any big shots?" Apollo retorted arrogantly.
"It even involves one of your dear friends, Emperor of the Helios Empire," Keith said bitterly.
Apollo fell silent after hearing what Keith said, and after a second, he sighed and said "Actually, he is not my friend; I simply owe him a large favour. It's not surprising that your friend holds a grudge against him, given how cruel and cunning he is." He continued with a cold smile "But don't worry, I can always assist you guys in secret. Anyway, I don't think your friend will need our help because he has such talented grandchildren."
"Actually, he won't need anyone's help," Keith said with a mysterious smile.
BOOOOOM!
While they were talking, the mana in their vicinity became restless and violently began converging towards a specific location. The turbulence increased by the second, as did the radius of this phenomenon.
"It's all started! This is a historical moment that must be recorded! The first person in this century is on the verge of breaking through without the assistance of Gaia." Apollo marvelled, clicking his tongue.

"Look who's talking, if my memory doesn't fail me, you did this twice, and no one better than you knows what the consequences of this achievement are," Keith retorted, his expression concerned.
"Oh! Don't worry, I'll take care of that old hag; I've made some contacts in Pandora, so it won't be a problem "remarked Apollo nonchalantly. He then added, with a dramatic change in expression and a sobbing tone, "you know, I really hate control freaks, and if that old hag hadn't been so domineering, my past would've been less traumatic."
"No wonder you're living on such a distant plane; with your habit of talking nonsense, Gaia would have crippled you long ago if you'd stayed at home" Keith chuckled.
When Apollo heard Keith's words, he scoffed and retorted, "Wait until I advance to rank 7 and become a member of Pandora's council, then I can talk shit about her all day and she won't be able to do anything to me."
Keith ignored Apollo's retort and exclaimed, his gaze fixed at Fionn "Look!"
Fionn was now levitating cross-legged in the middle of the room, his six avatars circling him like planets revolving around sun, greedily absorbing mana from the surroundings in a visual reminiscent of the Chaos Plane. But, unlike last time, all of his avatars were active this time. Looking closely at his skysurf board, one can see the gold and silver runes shrinking at a visible rate, making way for new ones. As the new runes appear, strange changes appear to be occurring with the board's attributes. Other avatars experienced similar changes. The Abyss flame on his Spas-12 grew hotter, and its connection to Abyss appeared to have grown stronger. Looking closely at his current Abyss flame, one could see the reflections of various Abyss demons. The reflections are so vivid that they could be right in front of you. The golden lightning around the AK-47 crackled constantly and rhythmically, occasionally taking the shape of chains. When the lightning takes the form of a chain, it twists and turns like a nimble snake, coiling itself around the gun, appearing intelligent and lively. His MP5 avatar was the most energetic of them all. With a gory scene of a slaughterhouse surrounding Fionn, his MP5 avatar appeared like a starving man finally finding food, ravenously sucking all the blood it could. The situation with his Desert Eagle avatar is diametrically opposed to that of his MP5 avatar; it kept fashing like a bulb on the verge of exploding, and appeared to be frustrated, as if it had encountered some kind of obstacle or barrier. His AWM avatar was the most stable and calm. Like an old sage, it absorbed mana calmly and steadily, showing no signs of evolution.

" They are evolving, and not by a small margin," Apollo said calmly, as if he had foreseen this would happen.
"Isn't it too easy for him?" Keith wondered, a little envious.
" He reminds me of myself when I was young; too overpowered among my peers," Apollo said narcissistically, sighing with nostalgia.
"I was going to say that as well," Keith says, surprisingly agreeing in a way that contradicts his usual self. "Would you like me to hide this phenomenon from others?" he continued.
"No need, I've already conquered this plane; only trusted allies remain here," Apollo replied.
"Actually, there is one outsider, did you forget her?" Keith said with a grin.

The Traitor Games
Welcome to the Traitor Games, and congratulations on your invitation to join as one of the races putting on a show for the galaxy. Your species has been judged as too violent for integration into the Galactic Conglomerate and thus the decision has been made to relegate you to a probationary period during which members of your species will be pitted against each other in games of lies and betrayal. Unfortunate, but the great thing about a probationary period is that it can end! How can we do that; you might be asking. Well, that's easy, if those participants can earn enough points through playing the games, they can potentially buy out your probationary time. Of course, other rewards will also be on offer for success in the games, and if none of your species chooses to be selfless, well then it just goes to show that you wouldn't have been a good fit for us anyway. All those on Earth unlucky enough to not be chosen to become part of one of the most popular shows on Galactic Television, fear not. We will be streaming the various games your race is participating in all across the world. Should we run out of participants, even with our most generous three life system, we will draw more from the population. Good Luck! Noah Landry is one of these participants, he just doesn't know it yet. He blacks out while walking to the local bar McCaffery's, and finds himself, somewhere else. He's wearing clothing he doesn't remember putting on and rocking an absolute banger of a headache. Now he needs to figure out where he is, what's going on, and how he can get out of the Traitor Games. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
