"That's interesting, it even optimises mana consumption to the bare minimum," Fionn murmured as he turned the final page of the manual of avatar mastery.

After finishing his reading, Fionn stretched his body, causing his stiff joints to pop. He then looked out the window and saw the sun setting on the horizon. "Time really flies by when you're engrossed in reading," Fionn thought to himself as he rose from his seat.

"Are you finished reading?" Jaxson inquired as he noticed Fionn approaching him.

"Yeah, what about you?" Fionn replied, halting beside Jaxson's desk.

"Just a couple of pages left," Jaxson replied as he stood up, adding, "it's already evening, master should be arriving any minute now, I'll finish this manual tomorrow."

Fionn nodded in response to his reply and inquired, "What kind of manual are you reading?" It's quite thick."

"Calamity Ghoul, a rank 3 spell. It's a poison series spell and a difficult spell even among rank 3 spells, but once learned, it's nothing short of a life-saving charm," Jaxson said with a fanatical light in his eyes.

Both of them talked about battle spells as they descended the stairway, but about halfway down they heard chatting coming from below.

"Master has arrived," Jaxson exclaimed as he dashed downstairs. Fionn kept up with him, matching his stride.

Reaching downstairs, they noticed Floyd seated on the couch in the living room, opposite him was a young man their age, as he talked with Floyd, his face was all smiles.

When Fionn's gaze fell on the young man, he was taken aback and exclaimed, "You!"

Everyone in the living rooms turned to look at him when they heard his exclamation. "Eh?You've already started moving. Do you feel any discomfort? " enquired Floyd of Fionn.

"A little pain here and there, and a little difficulty gathering mana, but other than that, everything is fine," Fionn replied calmly.

"That's a lot better than I expected. The Phoenix Blood Potion appears to have worked "Floyd murmured to himself, his face filled with contemplation.

A few seconds later, he snapped out of his thoughts and asked Fionn again, "you seem to know my new apprentice, are you two acquainted?"

"Ya, I have a score to settle with him; he used me as a scapegoat during the competition," Fionn replied, his eyes shooting daggers at the young man sitting across from Floyd.

The youth returned Fionn's glare with a friendly smile and said "I sincerely apologise for what occurred during the competition; you see, I am not particularly skilled at close combat, especially those involving brute strength. I hope you understand that what I did was solely for the sake of my survival and my passion for Legacy."

"Keep your apology to yourself; I don't believe it's sincere," Fionn said calmly to the young man.

"Oh don't be like that. I saw your entire fight during the exam and I have to say, I am a fan now," the young man said, his face displaying a smile that was not a smile.

Hearing the youth's response, Fionn narrowed his eyes coldly, and just as he was about to speak, Floyd interrupted him, saying, "Now now, let's not fight, both of you will be classmates in the future."

"Sir, I'd like to know what happened during the exam right now," Fionn said to Floyd, his tone solemn.

"Fionn, we've discussed this before, and I don't like repeating myself," Floyd said calmly, his tone solemn.

"Then tell me when I'll get an audience with the director," Fionn demanded, refusing to back down.

"You'll have an audience with him after the exam is finished, which is two days later," Floyd stated flatly.

Fionn nodded, satisfied with Floyd's response.

As he listened to Fionn and Floyd's conversation, the young man raised an eyebrow and made an unreadable expression on his face.

"Do you have any other questions? Ask it all at once. I don't want to get into a heated argument with you whenever I meet you "Floyd, who was irritated by Fionn's behaviour, asked.

"Yeah, there's one more thing, I'd like to go to a hunting ground for training," Fionn replied calmly.

"What!? Why do you want to train so soon after barely recovering? No, as your doctor, I will not allow it "Floyd stated.

"I have an innate spell that allows me to heal while training, so it's for my own good," Fionn explained.

"Is that true? Show me first, and then I'll think about it "Floyd responded with scepticism.
