《Guns in another world》On the way

The sounds of rhythmic horse hooves could be heard as a group of travellers traversed the vast green plains.
The group was moving at a moderate pace, as if waiting for someone to catch up with them.
In the lead of the group.
"Young master, you should not have trusted that guy; he said he'd catch up with us, but it's been more than 30 minutes and he hasn't appeared." Said one of the older men with whom Alexis was previously conversing.
"The guy doesn't seem bad, and he even handed me his loaded spatial ring as an assurance, so how could I refuse his request? Just so you know, the ring is full of crystals. " Replied Alexis helplessly.
"Brother, you know we're in a bad situation, so how could you allow someone like him to join our group? It's neither good for us nor good for him. " Said Liliana in a dissatisfied tone.
Alexis sighed and replied with a serious tone, "Actually, I allowed him to join not only because we need help, but also because when I shook hands with him, I felt an immense mana force from him, almost comparable to a rank 1."
"Are you kidding me? Even practitioners with rank 3 bloodlines aren't that exaggerated," Liliana retorted sceptically.
Just as Alexis was about to respond, the sound of a sprinting horse came from the distance, and the three of them turned, only to see Fionn catching up to them.
"Sorry for the delay, I got stuck with some business." Said Fionn a bit embarrassed.
"It's a shame you came back; otherwise, all these crystals would be mine." Alexis joked, while tossing the spatial ring to Fionn.
Fionn laughed as he caught the spatial ring.
"How could you guys be so chummy when you barely know each other?" Said Liliana, exasperated.

Hearing Liliana's comment Alexis laughed, but said nothing.
"Speed up, we are already behind of schedule." Shouted Alexis as the group accelerated.
It takes about 5 days to travel from Black Stag Kingdom to Plesas City at a moderate pace, but if one rushes, it takes about 4 days.
The journey was fairly uneventful for two days; they travelled during the day and rested at night. Fionn enjoyed the journey because of the scenery of beautiful grassland, small hills, and the smell of cool herbal scent in the air.
Only Fionn seemed to enjoy the journey because one could sense the group's tension rising with each passing day.
On the third day, while they were travelling, Liliana approached Fionn on her horse, looking bored and stressed. "Don't you feel anxious, how could you be so relaxed and enjoy the journey?" she asked, perplexed.
"Why should I be anxious?" Asked Fionn looking at her with a smile.
Don't you know that the area through which we are currently travelling is the most dangerous part of this journey? We could be attacked by bandits at any time. Asked Liliana a bit dumbfounded.
Oh! It really doesn't matter because I can handle them as long as they aren't higher than rank 1. Replied Fionn confidently.
"Keep bragging, even our kingdom's top geniuses can't do it, and you, a nobody from who knows where, claiming to be able to defeat a rank 1 being a rank 0." Mocked Liliana with a disdainful tone.
Fionn smiled and asked by changing the subject" You don't like travelling in the carriage, do you?"
"Yes, I feel suffocated inside; it's much better out in the open." Replied Liliana.
For a while, they chatted about random topics, but then suddenly, "Hey, where is your focus? What are you looking at? "Liliana inquired, noticing Fionn staring off into the distance.

"Eeek, what do you think you're doing?" exclaimed Liliana, noticing Fionn's hands reaching for her face.
WOOSH! THUCK!
Suddenly, her voice became stuck as she noticed the tip of an arrow merely inches in front of her.
"The arrow is imbued with wind element mana." Fionn said calmly as he broke the arrow in his grip.
"Go inform your brother that we are under attack." Fionn continued, still staring into the distance.
Liliana stiffened as she heard the words and thought, "Don't tell me it's them."

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
