《Netherwyrm god》49- The Underworld Coffin and the World of Gods----End of Book three

Devinn would have almost been burned to ashes if his keen senses had not saved him in the nick of time.

Marc was surprised that a being two entire realms below him could escape death after being burned by his flame.

“It’s commendable that you can still breathe but you’ll have to die for me today.” Marc said.

Devinn could feel the immense pressure that Marc released. He knew immediately that he was fighting an Omega god realm warrior.

Devinn had no choice but to think of fusing with the new Alpha god puppet of the 4th level he had just created to stall for time and survive while waiting for one of his incarnation to ask Markus Alpha for help.

He called the puppet out and then fused with it and stole its strength. He was a level 4 alpha god.

Marc looked at the fusion with shock in his eyes, he could feel that the three-eyed being in front of him had gained a strength that bordered the late alpha god level.

“This is bad. I must kill him before he fuses with something else. How strong will he become if I give him some time to grow?” Marc thought as a blue flame churned under his feet.

The blue flame was given the order to obliterate Devinn. It moved like lightning towards an ashen faced Devinn.

“Temporal Bloodline buff. Price: All of my external arcane energy.” Devinn copied his puppet’s way of fighting.

He had just burned all the arcane energy contained in all the remaining puppets at the Quintessential god level and below.

His external reserves were instantly gone.

He had transformed into a three-meter tall giant that he did not have the time to retract.

“Space shield. Price: half.”

This time he had burned his own reserves hoping to create a shield that could protect him from an omega god realm fire.

He then launched himself in the direction of the fire with a spherical space shield around him.

With his new physical buff, he felt stronger than ever, but it was a temporal solution to his problem.

He needed to gain time for Markus Alpha to arrive.

As he met the blue fire head-on, the shield showed signs of collapsing.

He continued.

From time to time, a blue wisp of flame would seep through the cracks of the shield and burned his three-meter long body.

He wanted to force the attacker to fight him as well instead of being a sitting duck for the blue flames to fry.

Marc was even more shocked: “I knew it. He can become even stronger but I think this is his limit and it’s only temporary.”

Devinn came out of the fire with a few burns, the shield collapsing around him.

With a three-meter body he was not used to, Devinn landed a kick to the derisively smiling Marc who soon found himself being flung outside of the Mallory entertainment district.

“This is impossible. He is no match for my fire, but physically, he can beat me.” Marc shock deepened.

Devinn was overjoyed that his sacrifice was worth it.

“Second Temporal bloodline buff. Price: all of it.” He said, truly burning through every scrap of arcane energy he had.

With no more arcane energy to teleport to Marc, not even having enough energy to fly, he used his physical strength to walk in the void and soon found himself in front of Marc.

Marc covered himself in a writhing blue flame hoping that the other party would fear being burned and not touch him.

But how could a man that is being assassinated fear death or a little burn?

The crazy Devinn madly punched until he could not feel anything and saw that his target had been moved away by three other individuals.

They were Judithe Mallory, Cederic and Bertram Stone.

Devinn felt that they were on the same level as Marc and attacked.

As Marc was unconscious, the other three left to the care of the elders and then launched their attacks.

A white light covered Judithe as she almost left Devinn vision and headed for him ready to kill.

She was the fastest as she arrived before Devinn who sacrificed his left arm in an attempt to lessen the impact of the blow he was about to receive.

Her punch destroyed his defense as well as his left arm.

Devinn did not care and punched shortly after she hit him. Since he could not catch her, the moment she hit was the moment when she was not moving around.

His punch landed as Judithe was flung towards the two brothers who had come late to reinforce her.

Devinn’s recovering arcane energy was not enough to help him regain his left arm.

His bloodline buff was also ending as he slowly returned to his previous height.

“I see that given enough time, I will not have to worry about the elementals’ safety.” Alpha said as he appeared right next Devinn.

A green light escaped Alpha’s hands and healed Devinn. Alpha said: “When you want to heal faster in the future, summon wood energy. It’ s derived from the wood element at its highest pure form: Life energy. Those two are all the power sources that you acquire at the God level. If you cultivate the wood element of course.”

Alpha kept the recovering Devinn hovering next to him and said: “Oh...by the way, I found the little army that you’ve been hiding and turned them all into elementals... They did not object.”

“Reaching the God level is creating a power source?” Devinn weakly asked.

“Yes. For yourself. Those that create a power source for everyone and themselves are simply called Gods...They live outside of our realities...”

“I come from there...”

Bertram Stone and Cederic Stone were about to attack when they realized that there was another person next to their target.

“I ask that you stop your childish behavior and go back to your daily lives. If you ever touch this kid again, I will kill all of you.” Alpha said.

“And who are you?” Bertram asked.

“His ancestor...I also go by the name Alpha. Ever hear of it?” Alpha calmly said.

“The elemental God that was killed eons ago?” Judithe said.

“Well, I am here now.” Alpha said.

There was an eerie silence for a moment before the trio in front of Devinn and Alpha started laughing.

Alpha frowned. He asked: “Do you happen to know the underworld coffin’s whereabouts? Still in the Alpha prime reality? Or was it moved somewhere else? If you have it, I need it.”

As the underworld coffin was mentioned, the three stopped laughing.

The man they thought was delusional seemed to know something he wasn’t supposed to know.

Alpha added: “Never mind. I can feel it’s close. I will go retrieve it soon enough.”

Alpha waved his hand and a multicolored light appeared and struck the three in front of him.

The multicolored light only stopped after a few kilometers and came back inside Alpha’s palm.

On the other side, the family leaders were gasping for breath, at the verge of death.

A wave of a hand. That’s all it took.

Alpha then turned to look at the slack-jawed Devinn saying: “You should’ve understood by now. I am the elemental. Humans like to give themselves grandiose titles when they breakthrough realms, but to me, they are still weak. Even those that reach this Omega god level that I was recently born at are even weaker compared to me who worked hard to turn all the elements I came across into power sources. Remember this: Never think that there is a limit to the path of power. You will also find that there will always be someone stronger than you.”

Devinn then asked: “You said something about coming from outside our prime realities.”

“Well...The Alpha and Omega prime realities were created by me a long time ago. I brought a few blood samples of the human bloodline with me to study...which made this world a human-only world for a while. I wanted to see how they would evolve if they were given the proper tools to do so...It did not take long for some to reach the Omega god realm level 1. That is the limit that I had inscribed in their bloodline...or else I would’ve been in danger myself...Of course, they were not stupid and knew what they were...Simple test subjects....As they grew in number, they started thinking that they could kill me and steal this world for themselves...They thought that in doing such a thing, they’d be free of their maker...Even as they outnumbered me by the thousands and me being on the brink of death, I could only laugh at my own stupidity as I died taking them to the underworld with me.”Alpha said.

Devinn said: “The limit of the Omega god realm level one also applied to you as well. Just like now.”

“Yes. But this is just a body with just my memories in it. My true body is sealed outside of your realities. Everything in this world was created by me. I just wanted the elementals to prove to me that they could ignore the restriction I put on this world and become full-fledged real Elemental Gods like me outside, but I never got the chance to see my dream come true in the past. Now that I am back...I will do what I failed to do last time.” Alpha said, then continued: “I feel my underworld coffin nearby...let’s go look for it.”

As they teleported away Devinn’s arcane energy had recovered quite a bit.

Devinn asked: “Why do all of this for the sake of creating an elemental race?”

“In the world that I come from, I am known as the elemental. I was born favored by the elements as well. Ironically enough, whether it is this world I created or the world I come from, I am just too strong just because I have more than one element in my body and because I can comprehend the elements to a level that no one could ever reach. Those two facts make the rest of the world fear me. Their fear sometimes turns to greed as they seek to dismember me and try to comprehend why I was born like that. I am then always forced to fight to protect myself.” said Alpha as he had a vision of himself fighting millions of Gods alone.

He continued: “To answer your question. I did all of this for the sake of leaving a legacy behind. My true self was killed in the world I come from. I sealed my memories and created a clone that only comprehended the elements I had long understood to the Omega God level 1 to synchronize with this world. I told you I was born at that level... To inherit my legacy, one must become an elemental first and be acknowledged by the bloodline.”

“Let me guess. You already have an inheritor in mind.” Devinn said.

“Alwyn.” Alpha said. He added: “The reason I wanted to train the elementals was to scout for an inheritor. Alwyn is not the best elemental I met in the Absolute unity prime reality inside, but he tried to walk the same path even after he thought he lost his elemental soul and body. The path of a multi-elemental. A path closer to mine.” Alpha said.

“Your bloodline can’t be erased?” Devinn asked.

“Impossible. The elemental bloodline can be stolen or remain dormant but without its approval, no one can become a real god like me. All the elementals that exist right now in this world, can be considered to have stolen the bloodline, you included.” Alpha said.

They had arrived in an empty void.

In front of them was a white coffin.

The coffin released no presence at all for the soul to sense it and could only be seen by the eyes.

Alpha then waved his hands and an unconscious Alwyn appeared.

Alpha then said: “This one...I tried to convince him to become my true heir and lead the elementals, but he kept asking if he could keep his human skin...just for that, I wanted him to become my heir even more...refusing ultimate power to keep your good looks...hehe...”

“You abducted him...he doesn’t like it when he has the impression that his life doesn’t belong to him...”Devinn smiled as he watched the coffin open on its own and Alwyn’s unconscious body being put inside of it.

“I hope that you can help him understand in the future. In a way, all elementals are my children. What I am giving him is the power to protect his loved ones.” Alpha said as he closed the white coffin.

“What’s going to happen to him now?” Devinn expressionlessly asked.

“My heart is the only and most important part of my true body that I managed to keep intact. The heart of my true body will fuse with him. This world is also a pocket dimension inside my heart. Once the fusion is done, he will become a full-fledged Elemental God just like I used to be. He will gain all my insights instantly and will gain an elemental body and soul of the God level. Everything in this world will also become his.” Alpha said.

“What about you? The heart clearly belongs to you. Why not use it to revive yourself?” Devinn asked.

“I only need to undo the seal I put on my memories and I am at my peak once again. We all have the same bloodline, remember?” Alpha said as they teleported away once again.

They arrived inside the heart of a star.

Once again, the same plain white coffin was seen.

“We are...?” Devinn asked.

“In the other world I come from, outside of the pocket dimension in my heart.” Alpha said.

The undulations coming from the coffin were urging the star to collapse on itself.

“In the last war, As I fell, I only had the time to teleport my heart inside this coffin naturally sealed by this star. Remember these coordinates well, they could save you in the future. I stumbled upon this coffin a long time ago and researched it. I found that it cannot be moved but can serve as a relay for teleportation. It’s useless for space elementals but it can save you if you have no place to disappear to when you are being hunted. It’s cloaking ability is unmatched....Keep its existence a secret.” Alpha said.

The coffin opened and a multi-colored humanoid came out of it with great strides. A murderous look could be seen on Alwyn’s new face.

He tried to kill Alpha but found that his body refused to move.

“I am the master of the bloodline. Even if I’m a simple clone, you cannot hurt me.” Alpha said.

He continued: “Now that, you’re awake, it’s time for me to erase the seal I put on myself.”

Alpha closed his eyes.

After a few moments, his body was changing into an elemental's body.

He looked the same as Alwyn but with a more pronounced multi-colored light.

He opened his eyes and then looked at Devinn: “Your turn...I am going to ignite the dormant elemental bloodline inside of you.”

“No...I prefer my own power source. Besides, one of us has to look human.” Devinn did not want to lose his arcane bloodline.

Alpha frowned and said: “I told you. Fusing multiple power sources is dangerous. You never know when they might turn against you. All the gods study them for a long time before attempting what that apprentice of yours did in a second...So far, you both got lucky.”

“I can feel that I will find out once I reach the God level. Help me reach it.” Devinn pleaded.

“Sigh...You’re crazier than me.”

***

Inside Devinn’s palace in the absolute unity prime reality.

Alpha said: “You ask me to help you when all you need is time to create more puppets to fuse with?”

Devinn’s incarnation said: “Just in case the puppet I am about to create rebels. I want you both to restrain it.”

Alwyn said: “You want to create a God Level puppet?”

“Yes.”

Sixteen years later, a god level arcane puppet was created.

“Master.” The puppets bowed.

“This...How can there be a cheater like this.” Alwyn exclaimed. He understood very well how gods brought themselves up from their frail human bodies to their Godly level by arduously comprehending elements.

Alpha was just too shocked to even show it on the outside.

The puppet was then teleported outside for the real Devinn to fuse with it. He had remained outside, sitting right next to the coffin.

As Alwyn completed the fusion, he said: “There is no change. Still the same upgrade in quantity and quality.”

‘Master. I am still here.’ A voice was heard in his mind.

“F**k” Devinn cursed.

“What happened?” Alwyn asked as he arrived outside as well.

“The puppet’s will is still there. It cannot be erased even if I wish for it.” Devinn said before he had an idea: “On second thought, this is not a bad thing.”

Alpha and Kane also arrived.

“As long as it's nothing dangerous like accidentally wishing me out existence.” Kane said with a chuckle.

As they were waiting for Devinn to reach the God level, Kane, the treasure spirit, had reached the same level as well.

From the moment Alwyn had come back into the prime reality, he had been receiving the legacy of Alpha through the soul connection he had with Alwyn. The Netherwyrm Sword then became as multicolored as Kane or the little Netherwyrm dragon always perched on his left shoulder.

It had taken Kane more than a decade to digest all the memories Alpha had left behind.

“It surprised me to find out that you had a sword spirit as well. Two spirits for one sword. It’s even rarer.” Alpha said.

A sword spirit at the god level was already rare for a God to possess mostly because it was hard to meet the right requirements to craft it.

Alwyn had been lucky enough to chance upon the Netherwyrm bloodline and cultivate it to its limits.

He had been lucky enough to be a time traveler and retrieve blood samples of his human self for udumu to transform into a human body for Alwyn to possess. He delivered himself from the bloodline but kept it in another form. A sword connected with his soul.

Unknowingly, he had laid a good foundation for himself through fortuitous encounters that he never really enjoyed.

Of course, Alpha was overjoyed as Kane showed up looking like him. A multi-elemental sword spirit was even rarer than himself had been before he was killed.

Alpha looked at the triplets before him, each with a different look, power and personality and said: “With us four at the God level, we might be able to survive this world. It has been a long time since I last saw it so I do not know what might have changed. The multi-elemental’s existence is rare as I was slain for the sole purpose of being studied on. The gods in this world are crazy for anything that can help them become stronger and change their status. And for a human, to practice two elements at the same time is impossible. Only elementals can do it. Which is why we will be hunted down the moment we leave the vicinity of the coffin.”

Alwyn then asked: “Why not just stay in the Omega and Alpha prime realities? We can just live there forever and nobody will ever find us. We can even slowly train the elementals to the God level. Why the rush?”

“Because I want to know what happened to my body and I want to make this world a world in which the elementals can live freely.” Alpha said.

“I have no objections.” Devinn said.

“Me neither. We can see it as broadening our horizons.” Kane said as the little dragon smirked looking in the direction of Alwyn.

“I guess we will go get ourselves killed then.” Alwyn shrugged his shoulders.
