《Netherwyrm god》44----Commander Brogan

As Devinn arrived in the middle of the fight he unleashed a powerful seal that was conjured out of the arcane energy in an attempt at immobilizing the two fighters. It was his most powerful seal that he could create.
The seal was based on the space element and also used the arcane energy as fuel.
He did not need to gain any insights whatsoever to be able to control space as easily as someone who had comprehended it. All he needed to do was to wish it and pay the corresponding amount of arcane energy.
To beat someone stronger than him but not too strong, all he needed to do was pay the corresponding arcane energy.
With the multiple puppets made of arcane energy he had to burn through as well as his own pool of arcane energy contained in the crystal embedded in his chest, he was confident that he could at least scare the two fighters away.
He burned through his external sources of arcane energy and saw that it was enough.
His heart was aching.
Of the seven thousand celestial emperor puppets, he had burned more than a thousand to be able to immobilize the two fighters.
The seal could immobilize them for as long as he wanted.
“You wish you had listened to my friend over there now huh?..”Devinn smugly looked at the two fighters faces that appeared distorted from the pain they were forcing themselves to endure in order to be able to flee from Devinn’s imprisonment.
The squad of seven had the same distorted faces. They were from shock.
Rolfe was thinking: “No powerful space element warrior is capable of skipping so many levels. What kind of magic is he using? Is he a powerful sealer?”
Rolfe could already tell that Devinn did not cultivate origin energy but something else.
“Many in the Bluebird family will be interested in such a rare three eyed lifeform. Maybe I will be promoted for bringing him in.” Rolfe thought.
Devinn had who had no idea what the other was thinking asked: “Hey...What do I do with them? You want to keep them prisoners?”
“How long can they stay like that?” Rolfe asked.
“As long as you want them to. They are completely sealed in both body and soul.” Devinn said.
“Good. Since they ignored us, we will bring them to the citadel.” Rolfe said.
Five days later, they arrived at the citadel.
“This is the 97th citadel. It is close to the Frost Everworld.”Rolfe said.
“Any relation to your surname?” Devinn asked.
“Yes. It belongs to my family. I am the 22nd son of the 165th generation. I joined the Bluefire army of the Bluebird family to make a name for myself.” Said Rolfe.

“I see.” Said Devinn.
They went to report to the acting commander directly.
After a few annoying checkpoints, they arrived at a gigantic door before which a man in a luxurious blue armor proudly stood in front. The man said: “What brings you here with three civilians?” He was talking about Devinn and his prisoners.
“We came to report to the commander Brogan. These two are prisoners and this one is a new recruit. We came here directly because of the nature of the arrest.” Rolfe said.
The man found that he had no more excuses to make things difficult for them. He opened the door after a light knock and went to announce their presence.
“You can enter.” The man said after returning to the side, resuming his guard duty.
As the group of ten entered in the office, they found four other guards eyeing them with frowns.
The commander, Brogan Ballard, was a youth that looked no more than twenty years old. Of course, as gods, they could change their appearance as they wished.
“What brings you to me?” Brogan asked.
Rolfe then narrated the whole story from the moment before they met Devinn to arriving at the citadel.
Brogan and his guards were eyeing the only three without armors in the room.
A Quintessential god of the 1st level to beat a Quintessential god of the 5th level was unheard of.
Brogan did not beat around the bush and went straight for the obvious. He looked at the three eyed Devinn and asked: “What kind of magic did you use? I see that you do not cultivate with origin energy.”
Devinn immediately lied using one of Aragil’s abilities as a scapegoat: “I was born with a soul that keeps growing stronger more than others as I level up. I used it to bend the space around them to my will. I was just lucky that they were weak enough for me to use it.”
No one seemed to believe him but it was a reasonable explanation as there were strong Sealers that were capable of such things.
Brogan asked: “Where did you learn your sealing methods form?”
“It’s self-taught, but it’s mainly because of my bloodline and soul that I can use them.” Devinn lied again. He did not want to expose his arcane energy until he was strong enough to protect himself.
“You want to become a soldier? Why?” Brogan asked.
“Because I’ve just arrived here from a remote prime reality and I need some kind of protection.” Devinn truthfully said.
“Good choice...hum...starting from today Rolfe Frost will be promoted to a twelve man squad leader.”Brogan said. He asked Devinn his name: “ What’s your name?”

“Devinn.” Devinn said.
“Well, Devinn, you will be part of the new additions to Rolfe’s squad. He can show you around in the meantime. You are dismissed…oh...you can release the prisoners. They won’t try anything here.”
“What a crafty fellow.” Thought Devinn. He now knew that Brogan wanted to verify his story about the seal using a powerful soul.
He had lied but that did not mean he had told a complete lie. There was some truth to it. He and Aragil had the same All seeing power which needed a powerful soul to operate it. The only difference between him and Aragil was that one was plagued with a defective soul while at the time the other had a symbiotic relationship with someone, Alwyn, he could share the burden of the power with while finding new ways to seal it.
In a way, Devinn was stronger than Aragil when it came to the control of the third eye because he had the time to study it and use it in efficient ways while Aragil had no time to train and had to find ways to strengthen his soul to keep up with the expansion of the mind that was the all seeing power of the third eye.
There was also the fact that he had spent some time under the Absolute unity law that made his soul even stronger every time he fused with a counterpart of another reality. To say that he could seal the two prisoners with the might of his soul was not wrong at all, it’s just that he did not feel confident enough and used the arcane energy.
Devinn then opened his third eye and it flashed with a gray light. He purposely let his soul undulations come out and the prisoners were released.
Brogan clapped his hands and said: ” What a pity you are still not strong enough to help in some of our most difficult missions.”
“Just a matter of time.” Devinn said.

The Omega prime reality was jointly governed by three ancient families.
The Mallory family who was in charge of most businesses.
The Stone family in charge of ruling the prime reality. A pseudo royal family.
The Bluebird family in charge of keeping the prime reality as secure as possible.
Each family was supported by at least one Omega god realm warrior or more.
To maintain its status as a royal family, the stone family had two omega God realm warriors watching over it.
The other two families had only one Omega god warrior each watching over them.
It was a simple way of ruling that benefited the three families.
“What do they gain from all of this?” Devinn asked Rolfe.
“Power and gold. We also need to stand united against the chaotic Alpha prime reality. We’ve been to war more than once.” Rolfe said.
“You still use gold?” Devinn asked.
“It’s not normal gold and it also only acts as currency.”Rolfe said.
“What could us gods possibly buy with gold?” Devinn asked. At his level, other than making his arcane energy stronger, nothing else mattered or helped other than his own comprehension.
“Slaves are in high demand these days. For some, buying other’s comprehension over their element can prove to be helpful to advance. The reason the three families remain this strong is because they give their direct descendants free access to eons of comprehension in various elements and the main element the family cultivates. They grow stronger so fast that they become Quintessential gods before they are a hundred years old. Some even reach the alpha level. But those that reach the Omega level can only be counted on one hand over eons.” Rolfe said.
“Those can’t be the only things that we can buy.” Devinn said.
“Of course not. There are many elixirs for strengthening the body or the soul outside of the normal way of comprehending elements. They cost a lot to make and cost even more when they are sold. The effects are not negligible. You can have a chance at winning in a physical fight against someone who never had the chance of strengthening his body or have a chance at overwhelming someone in power like you did using just your soul. That’s why you’ll find that people will call you a Sealer because of the way you fight.” Rolfe said.
Devinn thought: “With the time I spent inside the Absolute unity law, I should be considerably stronger physically and in soul. I could’ve beaten those two with just my physical body’s strength. It’s just that I had no confidence at all...I have to know just how strong I am compared to the others...That will be my way of finding my true level...I understand now that leveling up your element is still relying on your own comprehension to make it even stronger...to level up my soul and body I just need to stay in the absolute unity prime reality...and for the arcane energy and arcane bloodline, I just need to create a stronger puppet and fuse with it...I should start experimenting soon… ”

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
