《Netherwyrm god》39- The disciple and the master

Devinn was standing in front of a clone of himself.
The clone nodded and closed its eyes. It transformed into a fingernail sized gray pearl.
Devinn had halved the quantity of arcane energy he had to create a clone that contained the same amount of arcane energy as him.
He then transformed the clone into a pearl that contained that same energy.
“An outside source of energy and a way to stop the arcane energy from becoming too strong for my soul to handle.” He said as he held the pearl in his palm.
“Technically, this pearl is purely made of arcane energy has no host but is connected to me. The arcane energy that is contained inside the pearl will keep increasing in both quantity and quality just like the arcane energy that is inside me.”
“Twelve pearls will suffice...With time, I will have more arcane energy at my disposal. If my soul is too weak in the future, I will just store the surplus arcane energy inside the pearls.” He thought before the pearl in his palm was divided into twelve pearls. The pearls just followed him like magnets.
He was exploiting the moment his soul had become considerably stronger to create a contingency plan in case his arcane energy ever surpassed him and became uncontrollable.
Having an external source of arcane energy was also useful in case he had to fight for a long time or in case he wanted to feed a spell with more energy.
Devinn was lost in his thoughts:“I am the source of arcane energy and as it grows I will have no choice but to become stronger than those who cultivate origin energy. Origin Energy is the only power source that is everywhere, but that is because someone passed it down in the past. Mana, divine energy, demonic essence and empyrean aura are all too weak to be passed down on the same scale as origin energy because no one will choose them given the choice to cultivate origin energy. No one will even choose to become an elemental if they can comprehend the elements and keep their human appearance.”
Several eons later
As Devinn kept going back in time and waiting for the arcane energy to level itself up, a new change had appeared:
”I’ve now gained the same arcane bloodline as Erling. I suspect that my bloodline is even stronger considering the fact that the arcane energy had to become pure enough to create it. My body looks human. I do not look like a demon anymore thanks to the arcane bloodline. The poor Erling had both the bloodline and the arcane energy but it was too much for him to handle. Once I’ve done enough research on this strange power, I should bring him back to life and teach him how to control it.”

“With a pure energy, the pearls now look less ethereal and are beginning to take physical form.”

Udumu appeared in front of Alwyn in the Elemental church Everworld.
For Udumu, it had only been an instant since he last saw Alwyn. For the latter, it was an eternity since he saw the other.
“Udumu. What brings you here?” Alwyn asked with a smile.
“I can’t visit one of my supervisors? For me, it has only been a few minutes since I last saw you.” said Udumu. He let go of his lance which just stood still next to him and sat cross legged in the air.
“I am sorry, I cannot come back.” Alwyn said.
“Nothing stops you from bringing this little Everworld with you.” Udumu tried to convince him.
“You came here to talk about Aragil didn’t you? What do you want to know?”Alwyn asked.
“Who is he to you?” Udumu asked.
“The man who will kill us all. Probably...” Alwyn said with a sigh.
Udumu was puzzled at first and could not connect the dots but asked: “And you’re okay with that? I see you just spent a long time preparing for war. I can feel that all the elementals in your Everworld have reached the origin soul realm but you left the human Everworld alone. What? You expect to be the only ones to survive?”
“Yes. When Aragil decides to erase this reality, we will be the last ones to survive if we are lucky.” said Alwyn.
“Why would Aragil do that? He has been here for as long as I can remember trying to create a time travelers free reality. You are telling me that when he is done he is going to kill all of us? Did you see the future of that happening?” Udumu asked.
“No. It’s a fact. We know that he needs to find the time traveler who created this reality and kill him and in the firsts moments of this reality’s creation. He can then eat the reality and move on to the next.” Alwyn said. He also explained to Udumu Aragil’s affliction as well as all his abilities.
A serious Udumu asked: “What’s the plan?”
“We plan on journeying to the prime reality where we will be safe from him. Somehow a friend of mine thinks that we will be safer there. He’s the one who devised this plan.” Alwyn said.
Udumu was surprised to hear that he was not living in a prime reality. He closed his sun like eyes and contemplated for a moment. He said: “I am going to subdue all the other treasure spirits and their worlds, enemy or not, and create a pocket dimension big enough to contain multiple worlds. In fact, I will be the pocket dimension. With my true origin strength, it shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish. When it’s time to enact your plan, I will be there to fight alongside you.” He then teleported away with determined eyes.

Alwyn remotely accessed the netherwyrm sword and looked at the different realities. He thought: “He is doing the same all over the realities. Was it a mistake for me to say so much? He plans on saving as many living beings as he can before Aragil erases them all. Devinn had me swear an oath that I’d say nothing about the final part of the plan. The merge. If Udumu is here when the merge happens... What will he become?”
The merge was the same thing that had happened during the first clash between Aragil and Devinn. It was when they both opened a breach to the other realities, fused with their counterparts and ate the realities they could see except the one they were in.
Back then, after the boost of power acquired after merging with their counterparts, their level of power was too weak to even make a difference against a true origin like Udumu or the current Aragil. They were only cosmic gods running on mana, after all.
In this case, the merge was to encompass the entire Elemental Church Everworld and every elemental living inside of it. They were now strong enough to let the whole Everworld to fuse with its counterparts from the other realities. All they had to do was open a single breach big enough to contain the elemental church Everworld.
Devinn was confident that even Aragil would not be his match after the merge. He could not imagine anyone who could be his match other than Alwyn and the sword. The elemental of the Everworld would become stronger by fusing with infinite versions of themselves.
They had unlimited realities at their disposal. Merging them all together inside a fixed point was the easiest and fastest way to gain more power.
There was also the opportunity for everybody cultivating with origin energy to reach the Origin elemental realm or even the true origin realm by using the insights on the elements their counterparts they were fusing with had gained.
Devinn also planned on keeping the breach open in perpetuity. In doing so, there would be no more realities created as they would instantly fuse with the Everworld the moment they were created, giving more strength and insights to the living beings inside forever.
For all that to happen, the arcane energy had to be able to sustain the entire plan until the end.
The breach needed a huge amount of energy just to be opened. After, the breach could sustain itself by continuously fusing with other breaches from the fused realities.
There was also the teleportation of the whole Everworld to the prime reality the primordial gods resided in that needed a huge amount of arcane energy.
All they needed was to only open the breach and they were set forever.

“Erling, I summon thee from death.” In front of Devinn, the twelve pearls were losing their luster, returning to their ethereal form.
A blurry figure started appearing and soon a young Erling could be seen looking around as if lost.
“You finally brought me back...?” Erling said before he saw Devinn’s third eye flashing.
A third eye then appeared on Erling’s forehead.
“Concentrate on your eye and stop your thoughts from interfering with your powers.” Devinn said.
The clueless Erling tried to concentrate and soon felt that it was even easier to contain his power, but with a little difficulty. He said: “Why do I feel so much pressure from you? I feel like I am in front of a giant...” He concentrated on Devinn and he almost fainted.
“Don’t do it again. I am now stronger than you. The key to controlling this power you gave me is to have a stronger soul and a tool that can control and relay your thoughts to the arcane energy. I just gave you my third eye. It’s not yours, it is just a representation or an extension of it. Use it well. Consider it as repayment for gifting us this power.” said Devinn before he prepared to leave.
“Wait.” said a frantic Erling. He added: “I want to become as strong as you are. Teach me.”
“I suppose it can’t be helped....Follow me.” Said Devinn.
A happy Erling then followed his master.

Dream of the Abyss
Elisa Mary Grant died in a hospital bed after being stuck in it for six months, and like any other, her soul drifted away from her husk when she passed. For her, death was a release. It merely meant that she no longer have to wake up in pain, breathing through tubes and have doctors flood her veins with dubious chemicals for “experimental treatment”. Free from her mortal constraints and useless body, she felt… at peace, serene, even. Death is bliss, after all, when objectively living sucked to the point of extreme. Therefore, there was no reason to mourn at all and she knew she definitely didn't. ... That was until, on her way for a proper reincarnation, she found herself rudely interrupted and left stranded in the great NoWhere. “Wonderful,” she remarked as she floated in the [Beyond], “Just when I thought that suicide is the answer.” Author's note: Updates every Tuesday-Wednesday, probably some time in between. ... P.S Notes: Contains existential questions and nihilistic themes, rather philosophical. Will be rather sluggish until the MC gets her shit together. P.SS Notes: Story takes time to develop. And maybe uncomfortable. It's not gonna be action-packed or filled with battles, I think. Anyway, it is kinda unusual. P. SSS Notes: It is not LitRpg. Don't be fooled.
