《Netherwyrm god》30---Too much power brings nothing but sorrow and loneliness --- Start of book three

"How can I face my wife like this? Even I am disgusted by my looks." Alwyn's angry voice sounded.
He was throwing a tantrum as his voice and gigantic dragon body distorted space with the slight movement or sound wave he made.
Spatial storms raged as tears in the fabric of space appeared for billions of killometers.
Devinn, envelloped by a grey light, appeared in front of Alwyn and said: "Thirteen million killometers. That's how big you are."
Alwyn roared in anger and said : "You got a measly power source. I got this body i cannot hide."
"Measly power source? He gave me this power because he knew I had a better way to contain it and right now I am trying hard not to explode or kill anyone. You're the only one who got lucky. " Devinn's third eye was constantly releassing a grey light in order to keep any stray thoughts away from the arcane energy.
"You have to find a way to help me." Alwyn begged on the verge of tears.
"Just stay here and do not move. We'll sort this out after sending your son, my daughter and dorian back home." Devinn then dissapeared.
"No..." Alwyn's eyes dimmed as he understood that even his best friend had no solution to his dragon body problem.
Dann, Jen and dorian had stayed in the same place waiting for Devinn and Alwyn to come back.
The trio was on the defensive, covering any direction looking for hidden enemies that never showed themselves.
Devinn appeared in front of them. He said : "Something major happened."
Jenn was startled as she asked : " Dad? Is this really you?"
Devinn now looked human with gray skin and gray eyes. His meter long horns had dissapeared.
"Yes. It's me. Like I just said, something major just happened." Devinn said as he turned to dorian and said : "The demons have been eradicated from all the twenty-six Everworlds. The war is over. I want you to look after the Human Everworld for a while."
Dorian just said :" Anything. But where is alwyn ? We saw you dissapear at the same time. Did something happen to him?"
The draconian, Dann , asked :" Yes...what happened to him?..." he was expecting bad news.
Devinn sighed and waited before saying :" He is bad shape right now but his life is not in danger." he added: " For now, go back home. We will come back as soon as possible."
He waved his hand and teleported them home before they could retort.

"Now...I wonder how I am going to lie to him...I just hope he is still sane..." thought devinn as he teleported back to alwyn.
He arrived to a chaotic place. The damaged void they were conversing in previously had changed entirely.
As Alwyn moved and teleported everywhere as he madly fought an invisible enemy, space anomalies that no one could walk through unscathed, had appeared. For Alwyn's new body, walking into those storms looked like a walk in the park.
"It will pass. He doesn't realize that the more he moves, the more he gets accustomed to his new body." devinn mused to himself.
"Well it will give me time to study him and find a solution before he turns his anger toward me."
Devinn then turned himself invisible and approached Alwyn.
"Strong enough to destroy several everworlds with a casual punch, with his voice even...."
"His Netherwyrm bloodline really was too lucky to land on us...it must be the only dragon bloodline in history to reach such heights."
"The product of an arcane bloodline and a netherwyrm bloodline."
"Hum?....now that I think of it...his black fire that could reverse the time of its target to the point of bringing the dead back to life...What did it evolve into?"
He waited for Alwyn to finally stop and asked him:"Do you still have that black fire?"
Alwyn who still had a sliver of lucidity managed to say: "It doesn't feel like fire anymore."
"Just call it out. I want to see if it can help you go back to your human body." Devinn lied to help Alwyn think clearer.
Alwyn felt better as he lifted his left hand and released a bundle of white energy that congregated into a white sphere of light.
Devinn looked at it and immediately understood.
"How careless of me ...." said Devinn as he looked at Alwyn's dragon forehead. The third eye had disappeared.
Devinn thought: "I understand now why you cannot turn back to your normal human body."
He asked Alwyn: "I assume that this is all of it?"
Alwyn's mind was growing clearer and clearer. He asked: "How did you know?"
"Just a hunch. " Devinn mysteriously said. He added:"You can now try to retract the dragon body to a human like appearance. But keep the white sphere outside. If a white light appears inside your body during the transformation, just direct it to the white sphere outside."
Alwyn was filled with distrust as his mind was still clouded, but he was tempted to try.

As he retracted his body, it felt so easy that he thought he was dreaming.
He became even stronger.
All the mass that made him could not just disappear. It remade his physique as he grew stronger as he retracted.
Thirteen Million kilometers soon turned into just a million kilometers.
The same white light appeared inside him and stopped his transformation. He directed it outside as well.
Every time the white light appeared, the cycle restarted.
Devinn watched the entire procedure with a serious look.
Soon, an almost two meters long Alwyn could be seen.
He was gray with white tattoos all over his body.
Devinn had long shielded himself behind his gray arcane energy. He mentally sent: "I advise you to not move and talk anymore. You are too dangerous even for me. Allow me to seal you."
Devinn's third eye flashed as a beam of gray arcane light escaped it towards Alwyn's chest.
It was repelled.
"Don't worry about me. Worry about this white gigantic sun instead." Alwyn said.
His act of speaking destroyed more space than his tantrum did.
Devinn could only stay hidden behind his shield. He was looking at the white sun that now looked gigantic rather than a small white ball in Alwyn's earlier dragon palm.
"I suspect that your body will continuously create this energy. You need somewhere to store it unless you want to turn back into a dragon. Do the same thing with it. Retract it and mold it into an object of your choice. " Devinn said.
From Devinn's conjectures, Alwyn had lost his elemental status. He was no longer an elemental but instead a dragon. An evolved Netherwyrm.
The arcane bloodline of unknown abilities had given the already existing netherwyrm bloodline a chance at evolving.
Both bloodlines wanted to win the battle. The netherwyrm remained and even went to the extent of taking the all seeing power to further evolve.
As for the elemental soul and body, the many power sources he had acquired from mana to Empyrean aura, they were all just snacks for the netherwyrm bloodline.
The only thing Alwyn got out it of was the unmatched physical body and the white energy he was now retracting into a sword.
The white energy was an evolved version of the black fire. Every dragon carried a kind of elemental fire in their bloodline.
"I created this white energy but you seem to know more about it than I do." alwyn said as he grasped a white sword.
"It's a space-time variant elemental power, but it is not an element. It's a weapon and also a tool...it can open breaches in space and time. You cannot teleport anymore as you lost your elemental soul and power sources for a complete netherwyrm soul whose sole weapon is that white energy you turned into a sword. If you want to go somewhere just think of the place and swing the sword to open a portal. It is as acurate as teleportation. As for travelling in time, we know nothing about it. Better to leave it alone for now." Devinn summarized.
"You also said it was a weapon. I can only imagine what would happen to the poor fellow that will ever force me to use this sword." Alwyn said uncaringly. His voice and movements unleashed mayhem around him.
"I cannot let you go back home like this." Devinn solennly said.
"I know. But what would you have me do? Stay in an empty void for the rest of my immortal life away from my family? Or do you see a better future with that new arcane energy of yours? We both know that these powers we just inherited cannot be passed down. You can control it but I am just too strong to the point that a sound wave of mine destroys Everworlds. How strong can one become before it's enough? I am tired of this netherwyrm bloodline. I always needed its power but now I feel like it's useless if I have to stay alone forever. Even that new amazing arcane energy of yours is incapable of sealing me, let alone killing me." alwyn almost screamed out.
As alwyn spoke louder, Devinn struggled to stay in place. He said : "You're right. I really am incapable of killing you. In fact, I saw all the possible futures and can only tell you that you will find peace elsewhere. And that you will later come back to your family."
"How am I supposed to accomplish that exactly?" a hopeful alwyn asked. He was seing himself without the new bloodline that was plaguing him.
"No idea. I only see you opening a portal and leaving. You come back an instant later. That's all I can see." Devinn said.
Alwyn thoughtlessly swung his sword and a rift opened.
He looked behind him one last time and then walked into the closing rift.
"I hope you're right." was the last thing Devinn heard before the rift closed.

Coeus?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— About a boy who isn’t quite normal and doesn’t see himself as a human being, but is taught differently as he finds out about the world's secrets. Though not everyone is happy about his existence. This is inteded to evolve into a full blown space opera with elements of magic thrown into it. ——————————————————————————————— The OneShot goes FullStory. Trying to go a little more SciFi and alternate reality this time. I am not entirely sure how this fiction will turn out. And I am not sure on the tags either. They may change. Bear with it. As always, how chapters turn out is up to my mood.

8 144The Hawkshaw Inheritance
The Hawkshaw Inheritance is a completed story, with twenty chapters in total. For as long as almost anyone can remember, a small percentage of people have possessed fantastic gifts. Superhuman strength, speed, and smarts are just a few of the many such abilities on record. Some choose to exploit these powers for personal gain, but most use them for the benefit of their fellow man. Thanks to these people, who we call superheroes, the world is safe. The reality is a little more complicated. Most heroes are content to stop the supervillain and pose for the cameras. But it takes more than a few costumed cops and superpowered celebrities to save the world. Humanity is in danger from forces that ordinary heroes are woefully unequipped to handle. But neither they nor the public will ever be aware of the danger they are in, thanks to the efforts of the Council. For more than twenty years, the world's most powerful, influential, and intelligent metahumans have worked tirelessly in secret to protect the world, and subtly steer it on a better course. Six months ago, one of their number, the infamous vigilante detective known as Hawkshaw, disappeared without a trace. Now it falls to his protege to take up the mantle of Hawkshaw, learn the truth of his mentor's disappearance, and uncover the secrets of the most powerful people in the world... as well as what they're willing to do to keep those secrets buried.
8 168What Game is this?
Summary: Mark Cramus is summoned to another world by a Ruined Kingdom and its attempt to save what's left in it. He will encounter different kinds of people who are like him, summoned to this world and trying to find ways to achieve their ultimate quests. Thanks! ----------------------------- Edited up to Chapter 6. Warning: This story was written as a pantser. But still, I will make it a fun, light adventure story. Subject to constant improvement.
8 172Killing Roar: Part 2: Mortal Mewling
Part 2 - Mortal Mewling: Perry's been living his dream in the guard, fighting spike feeders, proving himself to be a valuable member of the community, but his many concerns linger, weighing him down with more questions and regrets. The strange event within the dungeon. The rise of the prey-movement. The critical mass of spike feeders looming around the corner. Things have been going wrong for Titan City, and it feels like they're only going to get worse. Can he help save what he's worked for or will it all fall to ruin? Part 1 - Killing Roar: When Perry was blessed with a platypus beast soul, he thought his chances of joining the village guard were over. No one had every heard of a platypus. It seemed like an obvious prey soul, given it wasn't in the village's records. Only the strongest could be part of the village guard. He thought that would never get the chance to defend the village from the spike feeders, the deadly creatures jutting out with hazardous spikes haphazardly all over. Only predator beast souls were given the requisite training and allowed to join the village guard. Perry just didn't meet their criteria. He was also wrong.Soon Perry will live out his wildest dreams and more, as he scales the rankings of beast soul mastery, fights innumerable dangerous spike feeders and solves mysteries related to the origin of beast souls and spike feeders. And maybe, just maybe, he'll even get to join the city guard. Genre-wise, Mortal Mewling is a GameLit story (light on the GameLit) focused on action and adventure. The Gore tag is there more as a precaution, rather than a promise to keep producing gory words. Mortal Mewling is a bit of a slow burn in terms of start, scale and capacity of the protagonist. Book 2... has now begun! Updates Monday and Thursday
