《Netherwyrm god》15 -- Overwhelmed

“With the space lock around and your inability to burn through mana, this fire of yours will have no choice but to stay inside. Your green fire cannot kill them, but it can hurt the two twins. They do not have nearly enough mana to keep healing themselves forever. Make your green fire take the form of the spherical space lock and have it block their way out. As long as that Lucius is occupied by you, he will never be able to burn a way out like they did to come in.” Aragil who was sitting cross legged on the fire spitting ten-mile Bloodbane head was giving him pointers to drag out the fight until the other Imperials arrived.

The galaxy around the gigantic green palace had been destroyed, but the spherical space lock erected around the palace was still intact.

Lucius had burned a small part of the space lock to open a path inside for the group to teleport inside it. Bloodbane’s green palace was like a sealed world. Teleportation could only be accomplished inside the space lock only for intruders. Once you were trapped in, you had to leave it physically to be able to teleport to the outside world. If you owned a teleportation collar of the Onera Imperial variant space element clan like all the Myriad Races did, it was possible to teleport out of their space locks.

As the green palace and Galaxy disappeared, the green fire reabsorbed by Bloodbane and then spit out, the group of four were having a hard time standing their ground amidst the space tears and terrifying ripples created by the green dragon's simple movement of flapping its wings.

Gradually, Lucius started getting used to the chaotic space.

Jonas was but an elemental soul. His physical white element that was being torn by the space ripples was instantly repaired itself. The same was happening to Devinn as well who was currently relying on his mana pool to heal himself as fast as he could.

The one in the worst state was Alwyn who had no idea how to heal himself and fought to remain whole with his own powerful body. He could only do so much in front of a casual flap of wings made by a dragon at the cosmic level.

When they saw the green fire disseminated throughout the galaxy making its way towards Bloodbane who inhaled it, they immediately foresaw the next attack. Lucius and Jonas knew that the twins could not survive such an attack.

Devinn managed to fuse back with Alwyn in time. He was cursing himself for even going away when they had a better chance of surviving together.

“Let me take over your body.” A frantic Devinn said to Alwyn.

“Wait. You can do that?” Alwyn asked.

“There is no time to argue. We may die if we are not careful.” Devinn immediately said.

He took over Alwyn’s tattered body and slowly healed him and prepared to use the mana inside the ring to teleport away from the green fire coming for them.

Jonas and Lucius who knew they could not be burned turned towards Alwyn at the same time and flew over to protect them but were stopped by the now possessed Alwyn: “ I took over. I am going after Aragil. You both keep Bloodbane occupied. ” With that said Devinn immediately activated the ring’s teleportation and prepared to teleport them all under the cover of green fire on Bloodbane’s head.

Aragil who had his hands crossed sitting on the dragon’s head said:“Bloodbane. Just like we discussed, give me access to your teleportation collar.”

Bloodbane who was in the midst of spewing a torrential fire mentally sent:” Do you really need to ask? Use it whenever. Damn Imperials, when are they showing themselves up? Has anything changed in the future?”

“It is still the same.”Aragil said before he sent a mental strand to the gigantic luxurious collar that Bloodbane wore. It shone in a bright silver light.

“That black-violet elemental kid knows it is impossible yet he still tries to capture me.” Aragil said to himself. “ I understand his yearning for such a power but it is going to be worse than a polarity when it evolves to the cosmic level. I wonder how he will manage to keep it under control without losing his mind. At least thanks to him this cursed life of mine will end in this reality. This power to peer into the future of everything you see is a curse. As a mortal, I had to burn my eyes to escape it, yet it evolved before I even became a god. I could see without physically seeing. When I became a god it was just a question of how far I could see at each evolution. My mind expanded in away that even space elementals pale in comparison in terms of the range of vision that I possess. If you add the fact that I see the future of everything I see. There is no polarity worse than this power of mine that keeps expanding its range even after reaching the cosmic level. You will see for yourself, Devinn, why your greed will bring about your own downfall. Hahaha. But I should thank you for saving me even if I do not want anybody to receive this curse. We will see each other in the future so I can teach you how to use this power.” Aragil thought.

When the green fire was dangerously close, they all teleported to the dragon’s forehead only to see a shadow of an eyeless horned shadow disappear at the same time as the giant green dragon.

“The Onera clan really gives those collars to anybody. Even Bloodbane has to flee for his life.” Jonas derisively said.

They turned around only to see that the green dragon was teleporting all over the place spewing green fire everywhere.

“He cannot burn mana like I can. He is trying to make a prison of fire inside this space lock. If he finishes it I will be even harder for me to cut through it.” Lucius said. The space lock was continuously supplied with mana to stay around which allowed Lucius to bring them in by burning it away. This time, the dragon was adding another layer made of fire to the space lock to further confine them inside.

“He will have to continuously feed his fire with mana to keep us from tearing through it. Aragil is in control of his teleportation collar and therefore the space lock as well. They are both channeling unbelievable amounts of mana just for the sake of keeping us here a little longer. This is the trap they devised when they found out about our arrival. They can only use their physical strength from now on. I suspect they will use teleportation sparingly. We have to end the fight before what they are waiting for arrives. We have to be cautious because they are both dragons at the cosmic level.” Devinn said then talked to Alwyn who was leisurely watching the spectacle in Devinn's usual form: “If we want to have a chance at succeeding, I am going to have to use the Netherwyrm god variant bloodline that I ate to transform us into a dragon. It will give us more strength to at least keep Aragil at bay and wait until Lucius destroys the collar on Bloodbane. Once they cannot teleport, it will be easier to capture them both.” Devinn said toward the protesting Alwyn.

“Lucius. Jonas Find a way to destroy the teleportation collar on Bloodbane. I am taking care of Aragil until you succeed. It is our only chance.” Devinn said before activating the Netherwyrm bloodline that he ate and improved on Alwyn’s body before the duo asked him any questions about how a True elemental could fight a dragon cosmic god.

The addition of the two variant bloodlines of Alwyn and Devinn could only become stronger than a normal True elemental, not nearly enough to contend with a cosmic god like Aragil. But they still had to try.

Devinn used the true and improved form of the Netherwyrm God and transformed with the strength oriented body of Alwyn. It was a black-violet dragon three miles long. He flapped his wings and headed straight for Bloodbane who thought he was dreaming to see such a small dragon that could not survive his sneeze head straight for him.

“I will take care of him. Watch out for that white fire and that discarnate soul.” Aragil said before heading to the small black-violet dragon. It was small in his eyes and he felt it useless to transform into his main form and kept his humanoid form.

“I have seen what is going to happen already. There is nothing that you can do in front of me that I have not seen.” Aragil was inwardly sighing but still had to go through with it. He teleported before the transformed Devinn and lightly punched while saying: “See for yourself how weak you are.” The light punch deformed a five-mile radius of space engulfing the black-violet dragon who immediately took it head on.

Aragil had seen it before but was still as surprised as ever:“ You really are crazy. No wonder you dared to come here.” He thought as he saw the little dragon heading straight for his punch with madness in its eyes and said:” Watch out for the green fire. I am sure it is going to hurt.”

Devinn countered with a blow of all the strength he could muster and slowly saw his hand being torn as if it was being inserted into a meat grinder. Then followed his whole arm before the rest of his mutilated body was flung in the opposite direction. With such a speed and the words Aragil had just said to him, he knew what was waiting for him. He hit the green fire screen and was engulfed by it for a second before his teleportation activated. He had activated the teleportation ring as he found himself flying towards the green fire but he was traveling faster than the time he took to activate the spell.

As he teleported away, a back-violet dragon completely covered in wounds, burns and an eternal green fire all over appeared. He was on the verge of dying. His last move was to release his own black-violet fire. He was engulfed in it. It fought the green fire and won. Then came a miraculous sight. The wounds touched by the black violet fire immediately disappeared. He was back to his previous state in seconds.

“A dragon that has a fire that cannot kill. Haha…It is funny but I can sympathize, I myself have no fire to brag about, I am cursed with the eternal flames of the future.” Said Aragil as he clapped his hands together then added:”You should keep that fire on, I will not let you off again, but I am sure you will die for sure if you do not take care of yourself properly.”

Alwyn who was bordering the verge of madness as he saw himself in a dragon's body. His body. He said:“ You are going to kill us. At least let me fight. I can teleport instantly and you can use that black-violet fire to keep healing me.”

“Sounds reasonable.”Devinn said before he gave Alwyn control of his body.

“Reasonable? Look at what you did to my beautiful body.” Alwyn was on the verge of crying.

“Only for the time being.”Devinn said uncaringly before for the mental distress his twin showed. He added:” Just beat that guy up the best you can to keep him from going back to reinforce Bloodbane. Do not worry about physical wounds, but dealing with that fire takes a lot of mana. Teleport to avoid Both Aragil and the green fire.”

“Kron will kill us with the amount of mana we keep siphoning away from his universes. And how can I avoid someone who knows where I will teleport to before I do.?” Alwyn asked himself.

He jumped into the fight with his black-violet fire clad body.

Lucius was exchanging blows with Bloodbane in a relaxed manner. He had even forgotten his original mission. He was too enraptured by his newfound strength. As funny as it looked to see a ten-mile green dragon seriously fight something that looked like a fly, it would be hard to accept the fact that the dragon was the only one who showed caution.

Bloodbane was using his green fire like an armor. He saw firsthand how useless it was as Lucius’s white fire chipped his fire armor off bit by bit and he was forced to continuously replace it with mana. It put more strain on him as he had to keep the green fire prison around and now he had to also continuously remake his armor to avoid being burned to a crisp by the white fire. His attention was divided in keeping the prison burning with fire with his mana and fighting by creating an armor made of the same fire that also needed mana.

Bloodbane was trying to bring the fight into a physical fight instead on of mana fight but Lucius seemed not to care about his enemy’s wish as he clumsily used his fire to move around and attack.

“It is his very first time fighting and he fights so weirdly that if he did not have that fire as his elemental body and soul he would’ve died a long time ago. Is there even anything that can kill him? Well, this is good for me. It will be easy to keep them here before the other Imperials arrive.” Bloodbane thought before he turned to inspect Aragil’s situation:”That black-violet kid should’ve been born in my clan with that kind of madness, but fighting Aragil will teach him a thing or two about patience.” He then turned back to the immobile Jonas who was calmly spectating: “That one can takeover my soul if I am not vigilant, but he does nothing for now just like Aragil said. Everything starts when Lucius decides to transform into a dragon as well. Then the Imperials will arrive after that. I am curious though. Aragil is strong enough to keep that kid from killing him. Why did he say that he will become food for that kid? It doesn’t make sense. He also said that even if we die today, it will be like nothing ever happened. That is even weirder. Then what is the other truth that the imperials' seers saw that led them to use me as bait? Is it the king’s orders? Damnit nothing makes sense and I may die without knowing a single thing.”

Lucius was slowly adapting to his new powers. He had reached the limits of his human body. He was thinking about using the transformation of his variant bloodline and see how strong he would become. He was aware that he’d have to start over and slowly gain mastery over his powers.

As Lucius transformed into a gigantic white dragon that did not lose out to Bloodbane in height, the latter finally decided to go all out. The unlimited mana he had was enough to keep his body from being burned but the issue was how fast he could conjure the green flames that made up his armor.

“It has finally started. I wonder if the king got my message. Oh... He did. I gave him proof of the only thing that gave him nightmares. Will he leave the humans alone and die? Or eradicate them for the second time? What is the use of another reality under his rule? Markus started it all. No matter what I do, I cannot see Markus in the future or maybe it’s because I cannot see far enough. But one thing is for certain, the king will never leave this multiverse in the hands of humanity. A pity that he will lose everything with his second death. It felt good killing him last time. I wonder if I can kill him again. Hum... No. Let's give the humans something to celebrate. It is the least I can do for humanity in this reality.” Aragil thought as he exchanged harmless blows with Alwyn.
