《Netherwyrm god》14- A dragon's pride

In the projection room. The seven Cosmic gods were having a hard time believing what they were seeing.
“They are all madmen, they are trying to infiltrate the worst place they could’ve ever thought. I need an entire army to do such a thing and I only attack the weakest universes, but they are planning to enter the core of the Myriad Races Domain.” Salazar said as his chair broke from forcefully standing up.
“Should we stop them?” Lightless worriedly asked.
Silas looked at Lightless for a second before he turned to Kron and said:“Humph… I vote to give them assistance.”
“We will do no such thing. Let them have their fun for now. If they find themselves in a difficult situation, I will just teleport them all back inside our territory.”
Devinn’s first action was to teleport the four of them directly towards the Myriad Races Domain. He needed enough mana and the cosmic pools of each universe in the human territory were like a beacon for him. All he needed was to use Alwyn to teleport a strand of his elemental body inside each cosmic pool.
When Markus or Kron sealed the outsiders’ Cosmic gods, they created pocket dimensions inside wearable objects. Those pocket dimensions would become prisons for the captured Cosmic gods. It was also designed to keep siphoning mana out of every prisoner forever. Those that wore the cosmic pools were guardians of their universe at the True elemental level. It allowed them to supply unlimited mana to the universe for the humans to practice magic and also have something to rely on in case of an invasion.
The plan was simple. For Devinn who could almost smell the pure mana the cosmic pools emitted, it was a walk in the park for him to teleport a strand of his elemental body inside every cosmic pool by using the black violet ring.
They started with the cosmic pool inside their universe.
“Are you sure this will work?” Asked Alwyn as he handed the black violet ring to Devinn.
“The strand that I am going to send will copy the teleportation spell inside the cosmic pool. We are going to completely hijack every cosmic pool owned by the humans for our own use. The spell that we are going to put inside will use the cosmic pool’s mana to continuously teleport mana inside the ring where it will be stored.”Devinn said as he prepared a strand of himself to be teleported inside their universe s cosmic pool. They would then use the mana acquired to teleport more strands in the rest of the human's alliances cosmic pools.
“Stealing from every cosmic pool will alert Kron and his friends. Are you sure this is a good idea? The output of mana in each universe will diminish because of this crazy idea of yours. How about you take our mana? I and Lucius have an unlimited amount to spare.” Jonas offered.
“ You two will not be able to output enough mana at a time to get us inside the Myriad Races Domain. It is too far. Besides we are planning to reach the Cosmic God level after this little escapade.” Devinn said.
“Why not become Cosmic gods now? We will have more chances of coming back in one piece that way.” Lucius worryingly asked even if him alone could ensure their safety.
“I want the power that I want to steal to grow even more as I reach the cosmic level.” Devinn said
Jonas already had an idea of what kind of power Devinn was talking about. It was the power of peering into the future. Jonas was burning with envy. Devinn’s power of eating at anything and gaining its properties was something he was envious of. To accomplish the same result, Jonas would have to possess or seal individuals of interesting powers. He had become stronger but his path of a necromancer would still follow him until the end.

Jonas had also taken an interest in the ring that Devinn was fiddling with: ” Where did you acquire such an object? What are its properties?” he asked.
“Do you remember the gauntlet Sebastian got from that mysterious space elemental? We found it with the headless corpse and then later reshaped it into a ring.” Devinn answered.
“Oh, if Sebastian’s memories are correct, it is an imitation of a cosmic pool and can teleport anything anywhere if there is enough mana. It even has a big enough pocket dimension. I also see that you modified it to fit your needs. Why do you not use it as a true cosmic pool by simply capturing foreign Cosmic gods instead of stealing from us humans?” Jonas asked.
“It is only temporary. If they deliver themselves to us, we will capture them all.” Devinn confidently said.
After a while, all two hundred and sixteen cosmic pool’s mana output was hijacked by Devinn. With his way of sensing pure mana and Alwyn’s space element to pinpoint the exact location plus the mana they stole along the way, it was a simple thing to jump from one universe to another. The pocket dimension inside the ring was immediately full. The core of the pocket dimension had no choice but to take more mana to make the dimension big enough to fit the input of pure mana. An endless cycle then began. The pocket dimension gradually grew bigger and immediately after the mana teleported in would fill the new space created.
“Who is the seer that you're after?” Jonas asked Devinn.
“A fellow named Aragil. He is employed by the dragon clan and works directly under the orders of Bloodbane.” Devinn reluctantly said. His target was probably known by the seers already, not mentioning the target itself, Aragil who was the most dangerous of all the seers.
“Sigh…You are a daring one, aren’t you? You really think that the Imperial Green Dragon will let you kill his most useful subject? He is the brother of the Netherwyrm god. He will hate us even more now that we stole his brother’s bloodline. Can’t you just choose another seer?”Jonas now knew what he was getting himself into. He already had plans of backing out of the plan.
The Imperial Green Dragon’s Green fire was on par with the evolved version of Lucius’s fire just like the variant abilities of the other twenty-six imperials. They could all kill Cosmic gods. They just did it differently.
Contrary to Lucius’s white fire that burned everything, even mana, Bloodbane’s green fire burned everything except mana. The body and the soul. Without those, it did not matter how much mana you possessed, death was the only thing that awaited you. Of the twenty-seven imperial family, the dragon family was the only one who used fire and it was a straightforward way of killing that the other Imperials envied and feared.
Devinn who was seemingly unafraid of the whole thing, shamefully said: “Well, I counted on your invincible soul to keep Bloodbane company while we retrieve Aragil. Bloodbane could become your first puppet. You have no real offensive powers and no body. Of all Imperials, the green dragon is the only one with the most terrifying power in terms of physical strength. Just seal Bloodbane’s soul or destroy it and you will even get the green fire as compensation. ”
The idea of such a powerful body was enticing to Jonas. But him, a human, did not want to wander around looking like a ten-mile large dragon. There was the possibility of retracting the giant green body into a human shape, but he will still look green with two pairs of green spiral horns on his forehead.

“You did not choose Aragil only because of his variant power of peering into the future of everything he sees but you also thought about using the poor Bloodbane as a scapegoat to rattle the Imperials. If I take over his body the Imperials will never allow this human settlement to keep two dragon bloodlines at the imperial level. I did not even mention Alwyn’s future rise to the Cosmic level.” Jonas said.
The disgusted Alwyn interjected: ” Hey, I am not a dragon. Look at me. I look human. Devinn eliminated everything that would’ve made me look like the Netherwyrm god when I was leveling up. He can do the same for you as well.”
Jonas thought for a moment and said: “ In that case, if you can eliminate the dragon part and let me keep the strength and green fire, I have no objection.”
Devinn thought: “ Where do you all think everything I eat goes? Nowhere? Sigh…I am the one that will end up looking like a monster in the end.”
Devinn was not a human to begin with. He did not care how he looked on the outside. Currently, he looked like Alwyn because they were both one and the same in appearance after the fusion. It was his basic appearance but he also had the Netherwyrm’s god true appearance that he ate away stored somewhere inside of him. If he ate away the green dragon’s dragon bloodline and leaving out the strength for Jonas, he would get nothing but a new skin to wear that would look like a ten-mile dragon. It would fuse with everything he ate thus far.
“Alwyn we are ready to go.” Devinn said before he fused with Alwyn and talked inside his head: ” These are the Coordinates to the Green Dragon’s personal galaxy in the Dragon's clan universe. Follow the coordinates I will help you. All we need is to find Aragil first.”
With the help of Devinn, Alwyn concentrated as much as he could. He drew upon the mana inside the ring when the mana inside his mana pool was finished. He expanded his mind toward their target following Devinn’s directions.
“Alright, this is Bloodbane’s galaxy. Now that you are here follow the green fire and see if he is still in his palace.” Devinn said,
Inside kron’s Palace.
Kron was watching as the twins were trying to copy the same magic that he was using to keep an eye on them with the six other Cosmic gods.
“ It took me years of training to succeed in spreading my mind so far, yet they used mere seconds. I can see why Markus was looking for something that could help Cosmic gods concentrate and even control their polarity. That Devinn and Jonas are quite useful.” Kron thought.
Back to Alwyn.
“The space around the palace is locked, I cannot get inside.”Alwyn dejectedly said.
“ No problem. He is definitely inside and there is a high chance that Aragil is as well. There are at least fourteen Cosmic gods posted as sentries around the palace. They are waiting for us to arrive then finish us off.” Devinn said.
“Then what do we do?” Alwyn asked.
“We will use Lucius to burn away the space lock once we are there. Then teleport inside towards Bloodbane’ aura. We will then teleport Jonas as close as possible in front of Bloodbane. As for us, we will take care of Aragil.” Devinn planned as he rematerialized outside.
“Alright, I am teleporting us there.” Alwyn concentrated and the four disappeared.
What they did not know was that all the plans that they had devised all this time were known by all the seers of the Imperials. Bloodbane knew the whole plan as well from Aragil.
Celeste, the darkness element Cosmic god seated next to Kron said: “Isn’t it time we followed them? They are just giving themselves up to the enemy. The seers already know what is going to happen as well.”
“They are still safe for now. As long as I am here, I can bring them back. That puny space lock made by the Onera Imperial clan cannot keep me out.” Kron said.
Alwyn, Devinn, Lucius, and Jonas simultaneously appeared above a green sea of fire. The gigantic green palace was also below them. They had appeared just before the dome like space lock that encircled the palace.
Bloodbane was chatting with Aragil when his gigantic head looked up and said: “They are here just like you said they would. It really is a pain to know the future. It is more of a pain to know that there is nothing that can be done to stop it from happening. Sigh… old friend, I think that I can finally relate to you now. My death is nearing and the only comfort I have is that my son will learn from this and become even stronger than I am. Thanks to you, Aragil, I know that my dragon clan will survive and thrive without me. Damn those Imperials that act like family but stab you in the back when you are down. Their seers cannot see in detail like you do. Even before your death, you were able to see their future demise before anyone else. I pity them.”
Aragil only drank his wine slowly as he saw the vision of Lucius tearing open the space lock with a bundle of white fire. He then said: ” When their seers see their blank future it will be too late. Everybody plans of using you as bait to capture your Brother’s bloodline and the two anomalies in one fell swoop. And they will succeed. That is why they voted on you being the bait. They just cannot see past that.” His death was sure to happen, yet he could show any emotion.
“I sent the teary Zolojin and the entire clan back home to report. The King should forget about the humans on this side and focus on the other front lines. We Imperials are but soldiers and I will fulfill my mission until the end. I even sent him your memories about the possible future you saw. When these so called Imperials return they will be in for a spanking and I will be laughing in my death. Hahaha” Bloodbane was somehow happy as his last minute approached.
“Tell your fifteen guards to follow your Zolojin back home. Your son will need them for the upcoming events. You cannot allow them to die here for nothing. As for us let us give these kids a good fight they will be sure to remember. ” Aragil finally stood up.
“Hahaha…I hear you, old friend. Like old times.” Bloodbane said. Shortly after, the fifteen bloodthirsty auras disappeared. If you could see one of them, you would see giant dragons brought to tears and madness as they slowly activated their collars and teleported away.
The four intruders finally appeared in the hall. They looked like grains of rice in front a mountain.
Bloodbane madly laughed as he created a feeling akin to apocalypse by destroying the galaxy with just a flap of his wings. The palace had long disappeared into thin air but his eternal green flames were all returning to their master.
The ten-mile body slowly covered itself in the fire before he spat a green flood of endless fire towards the four intruders.

One billion people from one hundred thousand universes have been dropped onto a singular planet five times larger than Earth. In the corner of their eye were three numbers: 1,000,000,000. 15. 10. Nobody could figure out what it meant until fifteen years after the initial transportation, as out of the blue, a message repeated itself in their minds for twenty-four hours. “Only ten can return. The rest will die. There is no time limit,” Following the global message, genocides ran rampant, with established friendships broken, families ripped apart, blood alliances betrayed, and leaders felled in seconds. How? [The Evgnomon] The Beholden; hidden throughout the realm were artefacts: weapons, information, tools from beings and societies of a higher plane. It was up to the humans to scour the land and take them by hook or by crook if they ever wished to go back. Whisked into this world as a mere babe, I suppose it was lucky I didn’t die in the chaos. But as I stare into the rotten, tattered pages of the accursed book laid upon the pedestal in front of me; and the unnerving gaze of our professor trained onto the back of my head silently pressuring me to become the avatar of grotesques unspeakable and undecipherable to the human mind. O, how I wish I did...
