《Omega System》Chapter 2 - Class Placement Exam: Physical Combat

The crowd was suddenly quiet. Damon felt his heart beating faster, anticipating what would happen next.
“Why fight against me? Also, didn’t you just finish your combat exam?”
“I’m sure that the instructors can make an exception this once, can’t they?”
The instructors looked at each other, and then discussed something for a few moments. They agreed this once because the requestor was the King’s daughter.
“See, there’s no issues.”
Siena smirked as she placed her hands on her hips.
She seems overconfident and she acts like she owns the school. That type of personality is clearly disliked, but why do so many people love her? Is it because she’s a princess?
Damon’s face furrowed into a frown.
She might be strong, but it seems like she has a superiority complex. I hate people that think they’re better than others. I’ll lose face if I back down here, but how can I win against her?
“I’ll even put a restriction on myself, to lower myself to a commoner’s level. I won’t use any magic.”
The crowd gasped. They were baffled that the princess would do a lowly person such a favour.
Damon’s face started to turn red with fury, people were assuming that he was a powerless commoner? Someone that couldn’t even defend them self?
I’m going to beat this brat up, and teach her a lesson about respect.
“You better accept you commoner. You better not disgrace the lady!” the crowd shouted.
Damon’s anger continued to rise due to the crowd’s insults. He felt like his head could explode at any moment.
I’ll show them that a COMMONER can beat a noble. I’ll prove you all wrong!!!
With these thoughts in his head, Damon started walking towards the ring. His opponent was facing him about 5m away. They stared at each other, trying to analyze the other party’s traits or combat ability. Damon already saw Siena fighting once, so he had a vague idea of how she fought.
How they were treating me is similar to how Rachel treated me. She doesn’t have anything to do with this right? She did state that she would punish me though…
The rules were:
No weapons or killing allowed (magic use not permitted for Siena) Once either party is unconscious or surrenders, the opponent wins No set time limit

The judge’s countdown brought Damon back to his senses. He got in a fighting stance, with his fists up to shoulder level, and his legs spread evenly apart.
Siena did the same. The crowd got louder and louder as they cheered for her.
“Come on Siena! Show this commoner who’s boss!” the spectators cheered.
“3—2—1—START!”
This time, Siena struck first unlike her past battle. She sent a kick towards Damon’s head, but he dodged to the left just in time. The kick scraped his cheek, even though it didn’t connect, Damon could feel the force behind it. It was enough to shatter a huge boulder into several pieces.
He retreated backwards agilely, Siena didn’t even give him a moment of rest. She chased after him and attempted a few more swift attacks.
Damon stopped retreating and went on the offensive. Dodging one of the blonde girl’s punches, he feinted a punch with his right hand aiming at her head, and luckily, she took the bait.
As Siena was raising both of her hands towards her right side, Damon struck from the left onto her side.
“Ugh…”
Siena let out a small groan, and retreated backwards.
I finally got one hit in, seems like her defensive capabilities without magic aren’t really high.
The girl in front of Damon eyed him with curiosity.
“How can you do that much damage without using magic? I guess your physical capabilities are high just like that person said.”
Siena was looking Damon up and down just like Rachel had done on the front yard.
Just like that person said? Who could’ve gave her that information without me knowing?
Soon after these thoughts raced through his head, Siena started attaching again. This time, she closed her eyes as if she was meditating. The air surrounding her started to steam; she looked as if she was about to burst forward with the pent up energy she had gathered.
Suddenly, within the span of seconds, Siena stopped meditating and burst forward like a flash of lightning across the sky, Damon’s eyes could barely track her movements, and in the next instant, he was sent sprawling.
Siena was standing where he was before he got rammed into. There were black streaks on the ground that must’ve appeared from the heat Siena released from performing that move.

Damon’s whole body was throbbing with pain. His ribs felt broken and his arms and legs felt like butter.
“Surrender now and you won’t get hurt any further. I can at least grant you mercy even though you don’t deserve it.”
Siena looked down at him with a disgusted expression. Her body was clearly saying that she was superior. Her arms were crossed and she didn’t even look him in the eyes.
“You look so pitiful, just go home already—- this is boring. I thought you could have provided me with more entertainment than this, but I guess I was wrong…”
Siena then started getting closer to Damon, presumably to deal the finishing blow.
Who does this bitch think she is? I’ll beat the crap out of you, just wait and see!
Before Damon’s opponent could deal the finishing blow, he rolled to the side and instantly sprang back up. Damon and his opponent were both worn down and tired after Damon had received countless wounds, and Siena using that one attack that enhanced her speed from before.
Damon was bruised all over, with blood trickling down out from several places on his body. Siena was probably similarity tired, although she barely showed it. The only thing you could tell was her light panting, but it was barely noticeable if you didn’t concentrate on it. Probably to keep her dignity of being a member of the royal family.
As a last attempt, Damon’s as about to start punching Siena consecutively, but it seemed she had a similar idea. Unfortunately for Damon, she had reacted quicker than him,
She then started to assault Damon with a barrage of punches—-Damon barely managed to dodge them all.
As the strikes were getting faster and faster, he got more cuts and grazes than before. The cuts burned as each hit grazed his skin. Sweat was starting to form on his brow, and it felt harder and harder to keep up. His muscles were screaming in agony because of the stress he was putting them through. Fortunately for Damon, Siena looked like she was on the verge of collapsing, while trying to keep up the assault, causing her to expend almost all of her energy.
“I must end this in one blow! Otherwise, I won’t be able to win like this! I’m barely keeping up and it looks like my opponent will at least be able to keep up her attacks for a few more minutes .”
As he took steps backwards, the opponent chased after him, but this caused her to show the perfect opening that he was looking for.
Right as Siena was taking the step forward towards Damon, her left side was left unprotected. Damon took this splendid chance that he was given, and mustered all the strength he had into his right hand. At that very moment, he took a big step and leaned forward, using the speed of his step to further increase the strength of his punch.
Right before the opponent was going to deal the battle ending blow, Damon struck first. The result was devastating. Siena was sent flying backwards like a bullet being shot, and smashed into the wall. The wall was left with a big hole with a girl lying Inside it. Damon was breathing heavily and sweat was dripping down his face.
The instructors walked up to his opponent and examined her. They reported that she was unconscious that Damon had passed the Physical Exam.
“The winner is—- Damon Zellar!”
The students watching all booed and shouted in anger. Their idol had lost and received many injuries too. Plus, her reputation had been damaged from this one loss to the “commoner.”
Damon received piercing and judging gazes from the students. Damon ignored all the whispers and gazes, because he was incredibly tired. He walked slowly to the resting station and collapsed. This was because the strain he had placed on his body had gone over the limit, but his body’s condition was totally different to his mind’s.
I’ve done it. I passed the physical exam!
His heart was beating wildly as he bathed in happiness. He joyfully headed to another line and started waiting for the Magic Test after getting healed by one of the doctors stationed nearby.

Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.

A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
