《Arthur...but the draft》A Sovereign's Promise

Early the next morning, Arthur woke up to the soft rays of sunrise, trickling between his curtains and into his bedroom.
Sitting up on his bed, he yawned and stretched, causing some light popping sounds to escape from his body. 'Morning already?'
Standing up, he began to make his way to his bathroom. His steps heavy and groggy as he made his way over, but he, unfortunately, didn't have the luxury to lay in bed until he was ready to be productive.
Standing under the newly installed shower system, his fatigue and grogginess began to wash away as the warm water trickled down his face. After relaxing for a bit, he turned the water cold.
The sudden introduction of cold water shocked any remnants of grogginess out of his body, replacing it with a smooth flow of refreshing energy. As this natural energy flowed through his body, his mind became more lucid as his thought process began scheduling his goals for the day.
After a few minutes of listening to the smooth flow of water, Arthur stepped out of his shower, refreshed and energized.
Finalizing his mental schedule, he called on Jarvis, to set up one of his main objectives for the day.
"Jarvis, are you there?"
"Always, sir."
"Can you gather all of the village's people for me before the Village Hall?"
"Affirmative, Sir. I will have it completed within the hour."
"Excellent."
…
After about an hour, Arthur stepped out of the village's manor, wearing a grey and white tunic.
As he stood outside, a gentle breeze swept the valley, rustling the leaves of the trees while tickling the tips of the grass. When this breeze met Arthur, he took a deep breath and smiled. 'Let make this a productive day.'
Making his way over to the Village Hall, Arthur slowly took in his surroundings, admiring the verdant flora and sweet scent in the air.
Walking on the recently built roads for a few kilometers, he eventually came up to a roundabout that would eventually lead to the Civil and Military halls. He could already imagine how busy this area would become once everything reached the later stages.
Nonetheless, continuing on his path for another few kilometers, Arthur met a flight of stairs that descended into the area he planned on being the academic center for Avalon, primarily encompassing both higher levels of military and civil education.
Standing at the top of the flight of stairs, Arthur noticed that a few structures were already in the middle of construction. Normally Imhotep would have had them built them with his ability. But to develop the skills of the current construction workers, he refrained from using his ability unless necessary. And as of now, he would wait for the construction team to finish before rushing over and finalizing the construction. Not only did this consume less of his energy, but it was also more efficient, giving him more time to plan out other buildings. It was also more beneficial in the long run, considering that construction projects would grow exponentially.

Nevertheless, after taking a quick look at things, Arthur made his way down the stairs and, after another few kilometers, arrived at the domed structure of the Village Hall.
The Hall stood three stories tall and was built with wood stone. It didn't scream ornate but a mellow undertone of formality and stability.
Pushing aside the Hall's double doors. Arthur entered a large circular hall with tables and chairs placed at its center. And off to the sides were two separate staircases leading to the higher floors.
There as someone in the Village Hall waiting for Arthur, Myrddin.
"Good morning, Myrddin."
"Good morning to you too, Arthur," smiled Myrddin. "They are ready for you."
Arthur smiled and nodded in response as he made his way to the front entrance of the Village Hall.
Watching him, Myrddin couldn't help but grin in satisfaction. 'He will make an excellent sovereign.'
After all, how many would realize what their people needed in times of uncertainty? It wasn't a great general, food, or even wealth, but assurance. Someone who can stand before them and assure them they are in good hands.
Stepping through the double doors of the Village Hall, Arthur felt his palms become slightly sweaty, and his knees slightly weaken. However, not one to succumb to weaknesses, he took a deep breath and relaxed.
Taking note of the temporary platform that was already built, Arthur stepped up to the stand. As he did so, everyone's eyes fell onto him.
The slowly rising sun in the distance shone a gentle light unto the entire valley. Its rays seemed to focus on Arthur, heightening his is golden hair and sapphire eyes.
Looking at all the people before him, Arthur felt his heart rate pick up, but with another deep breath, he calmed himself.
This was Arthur's first time meeting the former members of Cisse's tribe, and it was also their first time for them to see Arthur.
Interestingly, it seemed that Cisse's tribe hadn't fully isolated themselves from the region. One would expect all of the tribe's members to have been all been from the same heritage, considering just how conservative the tribe seemed. However, that didn't seem to be the case. There were noticeable quite a few people with diverse heritages.
Nevertheless, after quickly taking a look, Arthur cleared his throat.
"Good morning, everyone. As this is my first time greeting many of you, Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Arthur, chief of the Village of Avalon."
"Let me begin by saying thank you to all for your hard work these past few days. It is a beautiful day today, but it is also one that brings forth solemn thoughts, thoughts of the life looming ahead of us with all its challenges and opportunities."
"But we must not be daunted by the anxieties and hardships that are ahead of us. They will come, and as they arrive, we will deal with them accordingly. We won't shudder before hardships, and we won't quake before terrors. There will be prices to pay, but no matter how many times we are hit, we will always rise like a phoenix from its ashes, stronger and more powerful than before."

"We will go forward into these uncertain times together with unwavering faith, courage, and a calm heart. As we adopt these traits, I assure you that with each and every step we take into the future, the freer, the happier, and the more prosperous we will be."
"It will be difficult, but not impossible. And so here today I stand before to declare my solemn promise to you. But not just any promise, s Sovereign's Promise. For those not sure what it is, it's a promise declared by those on the path of sovereignty to their people. As long as a sovereign adheres to their promise to their people. His or her people bearing a Loyalty Mark will feel empowerment as long as they are within the sovereign's territory or within the vicinity of the sovereign. This promise can't be changed or nor can it be taken back, for it is a bond; it is a bond of trust and a bond that lasts for an eternity."
"And so today, I stand before you all with this earnest promise of mine."
"I promise you, for as long as you work for the betterment our state, the state, and I will work for the betterment of you."
"This is a promise for our limitless growth. There is much to look forward to, and I plan on looking forward to them with you all."
"Thank You!"
CLAP!CLAP!CLAP!CLAP!
Just as Arthur concluded his speech, a raucous round of applause began just as the Loyalty Mark on everyone's bodies began to glow and warm as invigorating energy began to flow into their bodies.
…
After hearing such a speech from their chief and the effects of the Sovereign's Promise. Everyone felt incredibly motivated and proceeded to their tasks with a spring in their steps. They felt good and hopeful, though they didn't know what the future held, it was a great feeling to have, knowing that someone had your best interests at heart.
Arthur, on the other hand, smiled, greeted those who personally came up to introduce themselves. Amongst these people included Cisse's wife, Orias. She was a beautiful young woman with mahogany-colored skin, stygian black hair, light brown eyes, high cheekbones, and a delicate nose. And like Cisse, she also had white tattoo-like drawings on her skin, but hers were just two small white circles on her deltoids. She was currently working with Myrddin in setting up the future civil structure for the village. After bidding fair well, she headed off in the direction of Mount Villam.
After a few more introductions, Arthur made his way back into the Village Hall. Just as the doors closed behind him, his palms began to feel sweaty as his knees weakened.
His heart rate began to spike as he bent over gasping for air. Myrddin, who was patiently waiting within the Hall, rushed over, with concern written all over his face.
It was also at this time that Cal entered the Hall from the back entrance. Seeing Arthur's current condition, he too rushed over.
Quickly scanning Arthur's condition. Cal gathered the results and paused.
"Pfft, hahaha."
Myrddin, confused by Cal's sudden laughter, turned to him. "What's going on?"
Still laughing, Cal answered. "Angst, or more accurately, he is suffering from the effects of stage fright."
Hearing this, a more confused Myrddin turned to look at Arthur, who weakly nodded.
"Who would have thought," chuckled Cal. "Well, it does make sense, the only form of humanoid contact you've had your whole life was the Old Man. And this was your first time speaking before so many people. But you seem to handle meetings so well, though?"
Calming down a bit, Arthur finally spoke. "It's because I am used to the pressure those in with power give off, it feels natural. But for some reason, normal people feel different. It like their eyes are staring straight into my soul, picking at any signs of weakness I will show. They don't give off any pressure, making it feel like they aren't there, but you can clearly see them. It's uncomfortable."
Hearing this, Myrddin couldn't help but chuckle along with Cal. "But you seem to hide it quite well, you seemed totally natural up there."
Arthur shook his head. "That's because of the Old Man. I couldn't show any signs of weakness during training, or he would double the intensity of my exercises."
"Haha, don't worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to practice in the future." Chortled Myrddin as he rubbed Arthur's back in comfort.
Hearing this, Arthur paled a bit.
"Speaking of the Old Man, I wonder how he is doing. It should be around the time he has his morning tea."
…
…
…
Within an open area in the Ouroboros castle. The Old Man sat before a tea set up, in a lush garden breathing in the natural aroma.
Pouring a clear liquid into a small cup, the Old Man gently brought the cup to his nose, breathing in the herbal scent.
To this day, Arthur had no idea why the Old Man like this so-called tea of his so much. According to Arthur, it just tasted like boiled water.
However, what Arthur never noticed was that whenever the Old Man brought his tea to his nose, he would wold always swirl the tea just a bit. And somehow, the once clear liquid would change into light crimson color.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?
