《I Reincarnated As A Skeleton Caretaker》Chapter 2 - Gaining Knowledge

Previously, Atlas had been left with Atelie and his other three skeletons while Vera had went to inform her superiors of Atlas.

[Vera Pov]

"What a peculiar person Atlas is... I wonder how I'll inform Master..." Vera pondered while walking through the hallways of the Necromancer Savien Castle.

"Vera how is my daughter Atelie?" A figure started to come from the distance from the main chambers of the castle, it was the Head Necromancer. A man that wore a long cape with elaborate designs and a mask that resembled a plague doctor's mask covered his face.

"Master... Lady Atelie is doing well, she seems healthy yet again today." Vera bowed to her master.

"I see..." The Head Necromancer sighed.

"Is there something wrong master?" Vera noticed her master seemed to be tired of something.

"The war situation is not doing too well recently... our supply routes are trying to be repaired but alas it is quite difficult. Those damn Behtman bastards."

"I see but it is wise not to get too heated so you are able to think of solutions in this critical time master." Vera who was still bowing advised her master about his problem.

"I know Vera but thank you for reminding me." Though it was a servant and master based relationship there was some form of respect between the two.

"Master... I have something else regarding Lady Atelie."

"What? Didn't you say she was just fine?"

"No its not concerning Lady Atelie directly, its one of her four skeleton guards that are there with her." Vera followed her master to the throne room which her master sat before listening to Vera explain the matter.

"One of the skeletons seem to have a quite advanced thought process, though it is still trying to adapt to its environment... It has acknowledged that Lady Atelie is to be protected and kept safe at all times. I have left the skeleton at the plains that you accessed through the magic doors." Vera carefully explained what had happened but left out the fact Atlas was not from this world.

"Hmm... This is great news to hear, those skeletons were created through special means so that they would be able to grow strong faster and beyond normal standards. Has his name been decided?" Vera's master showed a very pleased expression while discussing with his servant while Vera was on one knee

"He has named himself, Atlas, he has chosen the name as he wants to guide both Atelie and his other 3 skeletons."

"How clever of him... Start training him immediately! Find what his ideal fighting style is, swords, magic or archery." Vera stood up and went to exit the room.

"Oh and Vera..." Vera's master stopped her before she reached for the door handle.

"Make sure Atlas fully integrates into the Divine Demon Faction, if his thought process is as high as you deem then make sure you educate him carefully." Vera nodded once more and left the throne room.

[Atlas Pov]

It had been some time since Ms Vera had left this place.

I had left Atelie to explore around the area to find out a barrier had been set up that prevented people from entering or escaping.

The 'sun' in this place had not moved at all, it remained in the same spot the whole time.

I had remembered what Ms Vera told me when she kind of taught me to use telepathy to communicate with her.

I wanted to try this with other things concerning the visualization of certain magics.

I moved my body to walk around but I felt that it was heavy, my body moved so sluggishly as if I was just a robot.

If magic connected and moved these bones, it maybe possible for me to strengthen the connection of my movements to allow more control.

I started with the advice that Ms Vera had told me.

Visualize strand-like muscles attaching themselves, visualize the individual muscle fibers connecting.

Those muscle strands are magic strands as if they are my muscles now, think of a very strong connection and movement that pulls these strands like how muscles move.

I could feel my movement feel more fluid and more human-like. It was a success, I was able to improve my ability to move with magic.

It doesn't seem like it is a temporary boost to my movement, it was a permanent effect.

I should do this for a while Ms Vera is gone.

I repeated the same process 10 times, I failed 3 times but I was able to reach a point where I could run and jump easily.

The previous weight of my bones had lessened each time I repeated the process.

Hopefully I could strengthen my magic strands to the point where I don't feel the weight of my bones at all.

I have named it Magic Strands Theory as it visualizes the muscle-like strands to move my body better.

I looked up to a giant tree, no it wasn't a giant tree, it was because my body was small.

If I had a rough estimate of what my height is, it'd probably about 1 metre.

I wonder if skeletons can grow too in this world, Ms Vera was about 2 metres.

I looked at my hand fascinated as I touch my bone hand, I was unable to feel any sense of touch, smell, or taste.

It might be because skeletons don't have nervous systems but a moving skeletons is already against the laws of nature on earth.

Now that I mention it, what is this planet called? What continent am I on? I pondered about the various things that I had to ask Ms Vera when she came back.

I reminded myself I should be still wary of Ms Vera and not to trust her easily, there is a high possibility that she may have tricked me.

I wonder when she'll be back.

I look back to my hand and touched it once more, I felt sad that I couldn't feel anything but at least I was alive.

I remembered that I had magic, if I had magic that meant I could pull off those cool magic spells like fireball.

Once again I visualized in my head, gather my mana into my palms and feel it flow through my body and out of my palms.

I concentrated harder when I heard a crackle sound in front of me, a small fire had been conjured in front of my hands.

I lost control and the fire disappeared.

I did it! I was able to use a magic spell of some sort.

The inner child within me got very excited, I've always wanted to do that like in those fantasy stories.

I wonder if I can do anything else? Maybe I could use other magic.

I repeated the same process with earth, water, lightning, light and other elements that fantasy stories showed.

I could only use fire, earth and water. Some other elements either had no results or were too small to be considered that I could use them properly.

I should experiment more with the aid of Ms Vera if she is willing to that is.

There was only one other magic that I could think of that I could try, it was necromancy.

I didn't want a rampaging skeleton that would kill Atelie so I should try to summon one that is fully under control, if that fails i'll have to destroy it or cancel the magic if I can.

One more time I visualized again, this time it was similar to what I used for my strengthening of my movement.

Using the same principals and tried thinking of the constructing of bones and magic strands that could move those bones, I concentrated hard then opened my eyes.

All I saw was a pile of bones that were a complete mess, it seems like my experiment was a failure?

I'll practice this more when I have the time, maybe I could become a Lich that could summon other skeletons to carry out my own tasks.

A magic door suddenly appeared before me with a poof sound, it was Ms Vera.

"Atlas I've finished what I needed to do so-" Ms Vera had stopped and saw the piles of bones that I had created.

"This is a mistake! I was trying to summon a skeleton using magic! Using your advice I tried to visualize and create one!" I quickly explained the whole mess before Ms Vera had misunderstandings of my intentions.

"Atlas you tried necromancy?" Ms Vera curiously looked at the bones and picked one of them up, she knocked it against a nearby tree.

"This is quite the great first try!" Ms Vera was praising me instead of scolding.

"Atlas it seems like you have a real knack for this." Ms Vera had taken out a bag and stored the bones inside.

Ms Vera returned to where Atelie was and checked on her, it seems like the report to her superiors had gone smoothly.

"My master said we should start training you as soon as possible." Ms Vera had sat on the ground and faced me.

"You will have to go through many tests such as finding your skills and whether you are deemed fit to serve as Lady Atelie's Guard."

"Could you tell me specifically?" I urged Vera to tell me of the specifics of these tests and how to respond to them.

Ms Vera wanted me to escape this place with the other four so it would be natural that I'd receive as much help as possible.

"Okay I'll tell you only once so listen carefully." I leaned in closer and tried to remember everything she said.

In order I'll list out the most important things to note.

1. I will have a test where I get to explore the different vast weapons of the Necromancer Savien's armory

2. I will have a test to check my magical aptitude

3. I will be tested on morals on different races especially those that oppose the Divine Demon Faction

For the last one I must be wary and not give any praise to any other races, only those that are accepted in the Divine Demon Faction can be talked about highly.

I shouldn't be brainwashed either by any magic spells. Is there a spell that prevents such things from me?

"Do you understand everything?" Ms Vera was confirming whether I was capable to do everything.

"Yes..." Though Ms Vera's face could not show expression, I heard a worried sigh under her breath as she turned around to go back to Atelie.

"The tests will start from 4 hours from now, be prepared." Ms Vera was in front of the magic door once again and was about to leave.

"But Ms Vera!-" I stopped her from closing the door.

"Is there a problem?"

"This world's language... I wouldn't be able to understand it..."

"Ah- I see... I will get you a book that will aid you to better understand this world's general language and demonic language, I will also extend your test day to 3 weeks from now. Please try to learn the basics by then."

"Also-" I had to say one more thing to Ms Vera before she left.

"Yes? What is it now?" I could hear a slight irritated tone from Ms Vera now.

"About the bones just now what will you do with them..." I nervously asked, Ms Vera might report me to her superiors about this too.

"I'll put it in my research lab and study it... Are you familiar with Lichs?" Ms Vera had thrown me one of the bones from the bag.

"Yes... They are able to use necromancy and dark magic, they don't exist in my world like my previous world but that's what I know about them through books." Ms Vera had some time to think and spoke once more.

"Lichs are very rare occurrences in this world, they are known to have a large mana capacity and were feared in the dark ages."

"Dark ages?" Maybe it referred to a time where everything was more primitive.

"The dark ages are- I'll get you books about those next time, for now prepare yourself."

"Thank you, i'll do my best..." Ms Vera left the room to get the book while I waited once more.

Now that I think about it, there must be definitely some way to get back. If there was a possibility I was transferred here by magical means, there is a way to do the reverse.

For now, i'll prepare myself for the tests so that I can at least have some knowledge of this world and secure my safety.

"Gahhhwooo..." Atelie had crawled to me while I wasn't looking, such a cute baby. Is she really the daughter of a so-called Demon faction?

"I'll protect you okay?" I carried her back to her original sleeping place which was being surrounded by my future comrades, I tried putting her down but she refused to let go.

"Quite the strong grip you have..." Eventually I gave up on putting her down and tried to gently sway her to make her sleep.

"Hehe Gahhbu!" Atelie showed a joyful face while I swayed her, I should build a trusting relationship with her so that she listens to me.

"I wonder if I can speak to her via telepathy?" I thought of it for a moment if Ms Vera and I can communicate then I could probably do the same with Atelie.

"Hello Lady Atelie... I am your guard Atlas..." Atelie had stop flailing around and stared directly at me.

Did it work? Is it possible to start talking with her or educating her?

"Bweehhhh-"

Ah she threw up.

Maybe she's too young for now, i'll keep trying to talk to her or try to at least teach her my language.

I should also clean this mess.

What else should I do before Ms Vera comes back? Maybe i'll strengthen the flow of my movements sing the Magic String Theory that I came up with, I'll also try to specialize in fire magic and-

The bone that Ms Vera had given me sparked an idea in me.

I started visualizing again, this time I was holding the bone of my failed skeleton servant.

Exaggerate the visualization, make the bone sharp like a sword.

Sharper, concentrate your mana into sharpening the blade.

Even though I lack a normal human body, I'm getting very tired.

Is this because I used to much of my mana? Maybe, that's the most probable answer to this fatigue.

I look at the bone that I had concentrated my mana on, it had taken its intended form.

It was sharp enough to cut and pierce someone, the blade had no handle but it was a weapon nonetheless.

I tested the blade on a tree and to no surprise, it was able to chip the tree's bark. If I had more strength I would be able to cut it more. For safety reasons, I put the blade far away from Lady Atelie.

I had no more 'energy' left so I laid next to the sleeping Lady Atelie that I will have to protect in the near future.

"Lady Atelie, I will protect you..." I said those few words to the baby before finally dozing off.

[Vera Pov]

"Who would've thought that he would try to summon a skeleton servant of his own... He was able to create bones from mana but that takes concentration, time and mana. In such a short time, he was able to do it... I must take this to my lab but first I need to report this to Master."

"Master may I come in?" Ms Vera was at the door of the throne room and requested permission to go in.

"Yes Vera, you may." With that Ms Vera had came in and kneeled before the Head Necromancer.

"Master, about Atlas..." Ms Vera showed the bones that Atlas created.

"Interesting... A Lich has been born and to be able to create this after a few hours of coming into this world, the Necromancer Sav- Nay the whole Divine Demon Faction will now have a power boost!" It gave the Head Necromancer a rush to his head.

"Lichs are few in number but they carry the strength of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and to be able to freely think and with accelerated thought processing... This Lich will be a formidable ally and foe to our enemies." The Head Necromancer had a smirk on his face that was filled with evil intentions.

"Master... Atlas has requested for knowledge of this world and a time limit of 3 weeks before taking the respective tests."

"Hah! To demand to delay the tests although I said it to be done immediately." The Head Necromancer glared right at Ms Vera who was clearly shaken by her master's stare

"Maybe I was too excited... Its been a while since I've obtained a skeleton of this quality... Those other three skeletons besides Atlas, they all have free-will to choose to not join the Divine Demon Faction. That is the price of them being able to have more potential of being stronger. Go to the private archives to access the best of books to accelerate his growth, I'll give you this pass... just show it to the librarian." The Head Necromancer passed an insignia to Ms Vera and fell into deep thought when Ms Vera had spoken via telepathy.

"Master maybe it would be best to educate Atlas about all races and why we are fighting the Behtman Faction..."

"Vera... if he were to betray us and finds our ideologies flawed? What will you do? What will happen if that puts my daughter Atelie in danger?"

"I will educate Atlas in a way that he supports the Divine Demon Faction, there will be some slight lies involved but I will make sure he trusts us. As for Lady Atelie even if I were up against you master... I would protect Lady Atelie with my life."

"..." Silence had filled the room when Ms Vera had said that.

"Hah! Well said Vera, you know well that I'd prioritize my daughter's safety over mine. I trust you that you will carry out what you said. That's the only purpose you serve since my wife designed you that way..." Ms Vera was dismissed by her master as he faked a laugh.

Before Ms Vera had left, she said one last thing.

"Master Savien... Lady Aerilyn would be delighted to see that her daughter is being taken care properly by her father."

"I only do my best to protect her as Aerilyn would've." The Head Necromancer, Savien, wore a grim expression and continued to sit on his throne while Ms Vera had left.

"If only I was stronger..." Savien stared blankly into empty space.

Ms Vera was headed to the private archives of the Necromancer Savien's Library, she needed quite the number of books. She wrote down a list which were ordered by.

1. The Book of Namutal - Contains general information about of the works of this world.

2. Linguistic basics - Great for learning all the languages of this world but some languages difficulty can vary.

3. The Basics of Magic - Filled with magic theory and ways to use different magic elements.

4. The Material Knowledge book - Information of resources like gems, stones and etc;

5. The Botanical Guide - In-depth knowledge of plants that vary in properties for healing and alchemy uses.

These five books were the most important for Atlas to learn, especially if its for Ms Vera's plans to escape this place.

"Good day Lady Vera..." The librarian greeted Ms Vera upon hearing her enter the Library.

"I'd like to access the Private Archives." Normally no one except the Head Necromancer Savien is bale to access the Private Archives but Ms Vera had special permission, the insignia glowed brightly when showed to the librarian.

A door with a similar skeleton head emblem glowed and opened beside where the librarian stood.

"Be careful on your way down the stairs." The librarian resumed to read a book while Ms Vera had went down the stairs.

It was a very cramped stairway, almost as if it was built for Dwarves. At the end of the stairs, stood a gold door with a hole that had the shape of the insignia.

"This should go in here." Ms Vera inserted the Insignia and the door led to a giant library, a stunning sight to behold indeed.

"Welcome! Lady Vera its been a while! Master Savien has informed me that you would come, its been about 10 years since you came! How about we have a chat over some tea?" A man with glasses that wore a shorts and a tight long sleeve shirt came to aid Ms Vera in finding the books she needed.

It wasn't Ms Vera's first time coming here but she rarely could get permission to enter the private archives.

"Hello Fable, i'd like to chat with you but I have come in by Master Savien's request. A Lich might have been born, i'll be needing these books from here because of that." Ms Vera handed over the list she made to Fable who carefully read it.

"I see... Excuse my rudeness, It seems that this was a more serious visit than what i'd expect. About these books, it'll take me about 30 minutes to find all five books." Fable arranged his shirt and glasses, he stood tall about 2 metres tall.

"Its fine, i'll wait the 30 minutes here. I don't normally get to go here anyways." Ms Vera proceeded to sit on a nearby chair after getting a book to read.

"I'll try to be quick." Fable went off in a scurry and disappeared out of sight.

Ms Vera sat and read a book about a certain Lich, it was a simple story from the dark ages...

Once there lived a little boy 4000 years ago, he lived with his sister and both were outcasts from their village. They lived peaceful lives though being just themselves, they just needed each other.

However that peace came to an abrupt end when a war had been set off between two major kingdoms. A major battle took place near the home of the two siblings which unfortunately led to the death of the boy's sister.

Pain and rage took over his heart but his sister would not have wanted him to be in pain, he thought long and hard. He decided he wouldn't seek out for revenge, it'd make his sister sad.

"Hey~ I know a way to help you see your sister again dear boy." A devilish voice rang through the boy's ears.

"I witnessed your sister's death, oh how excruciating it was! She was screaming for your name but you weren't there for her!" The boy could only tear up and tighten his grip, his eyes were a bloodshot red.

"You just need to sign this contract and i'll do the rest for you." The boy obviously had doubts of the voice within him.

"Would you like me to show you?" The boy suddenly blacked out then awoke to see his sister being brutally murdered and sexually assaulted.

The boy started to cry on the spot and vomit.

"I can change that, you just need to do what I want and you get your sister back~" The boy nodded and followed the voice in his head.

That same boy was led into a trap, he had went to countless battlefields to raise an undead army that grew as the years went by. The voice led him on and on again, the boy turned into a man who was only fueled with despair and rage. Slowly his body rotted due to old age but his body kept moving until eventually only bones that moved by pure resentment of humanity remained.

The voice from when he was a boy had disappeared when he had lost his remaining humanity in him.

The boy knew, it was himself that was the voice. It was his inner resentment for everything around him.

But what about his sister?

He long forgot why he even started his journey.

The only thing he knew was death.

No tears would be able to shed for his sister, no one would be able to remember his sister... not even himself.

Thus he became a very powerful Lich with millions of servants of undead under his control after he had completely turned to all bones, he conquered multiple kingdoms.

The Lich was ultimately sealed and defeated by the Human Hero and sealed for eternity...

By the time Ms Vera finished the book, Fable had arrived with all five books she requested plus some additional bonus books to help Atlas.

"Ah thank you Fable for searching for these." Ms Vera though a skeleton was quite expressive through her tone of telepathic voice.

"I see you've been reading about the story of Mortem The Lich, its a very sad story even within the Divine Demon Faction."

"I think Master Savien would have a hard time dealing with such a Lich." Fable ushered Ms Vera after saying that and shut the golden door.

Ms Vera said her goodbyes and left the private archives.

"It would be good to make sure Lady Atelie does not end up like that." Ms Vera was now heading to the magic doors that led to where Atelie and Atlas were.

[Atlas Pov]

I was in a dark room, it was cold.

Where was I? I remember sleeping next to Lady Atelie and the other three skeletons.

A skeleton stood a distance from me, it looked small when I saw it from afar.

When I blinked, it disappeared.

"How are you here-" A voice came from behind me.

A skeleton that stood near 4 metres, it had a yellow glow to its eyes.

Chills went up my spine, as if death was right beside me.

"Prostrate yourself." With those words, my face dropped to the black floor.

Its cold, i'm shivering.

I want to run but I can't move.

"H- Hah- Help-" All I could do was cry and call out for help.

"As expected that you couldn't handle my presence, i'll end you here then."

The skeleton was about to reach for me when I woke up.

"Huh- I'm alive?" I checked my body for any signs of injuries.

No injuries but I could remember what happened, I felt like vomiting but I was just a skeleton.

"Atlas are you okay?" It was Ms Vera, she had already came back with all the books and materials for me to study.

"I was just having a bad dream." I stood up and carefully made my way towards Ms Vera.

"In this world, dreams hold significant meaning. It can serve as a catalyst for fortune telling and even to the extent of precognition."

"I see..." What kind of meaning could that dream have?

"I could at least give a shot in finding the meaning of your dream?"

"Okay..." I gave a brief summary of my dream to Ms Vera who pondered of its meaning.

"I'm sorry Atlas... I don't really know the meaning and I don't want to misinform you." In the end, Ms Vera didn't know what meaning it had. She might actually know what it meant but chose not to tell me to avoid me from panicking.

"I could have some professionals look into it if you'd like?" Ms Vera passed me the books in a leather bag.

"I don't want to trouble you..." I didn't want to attract more unnecessary attention than I already have.

"People are willing to help fellow comrades withing the Necromancer Savien group." Eventually I accepted Ms Vera's help with decoding my dream.

"You will be studying here for the whole three weeks, I will also be occasionally monitoring and assisting you in your studies." Ms Vera had taken out a scroll with some weird words engraved in it.

"?????" I had no idea what Ms Vera said but a desk, a cushioned chair, some notebooks and a set of pens had popped out of the scroll.

"If you need anything else, I will be leaving this bell here. Once you ring it, someone will come to assist you in what you need." Ms Vera had placed a small golden bell on the desk while she checked all the things that had been summoned from the scroll was alright.

"Thank you Ms Vera for everything..." I went to the desk and touched it, as expected I couldn't feel the texture of the desk.

"I am only doing this because you are an important part of my plan, you also have no thoughts of harming Lady Atelie from what I can tell." It was expected that Ms Vera would only treat me like this, I am only part of her escape plan. I too only do this for my survival, if having to guide and protect this baby allows for my survival, I will do all I can.

"I will be going now, I will be checking on you every 2 to 3 hours or so. Please do your best in studying... I have also given you a timer so that you can pace yourself." Ms Vera had a stern look on her face and proceeded to go the magic door, a silver pocket watch had been placed on the desk along with the golden bell.

"Okay..." Ms Vera left the place while I started studying.

"Alright! Let's learn this world's language!" Oh yeah i'm really fired up. Back in my world, I was able to speak three languages. Learning a new language shouldn't be a problem.

"Gahh!" Something touched my leg while I was studying, it was the baby Atelie.

"Do you need to change your diaper or something? I picked Atelie up and placed her back on the soft grass surrounded by the three other skeletons.

"I wonder when the other three gain consciousness." It hasn't been a full day but the other three skeletons should wake up soon.

"Gwah!" Something pulled my leg again, it was Atelie.

I swear I just put her back, is she trying to tell me something.

"Lady Atelie... do you need anything?" I spoke to her telepathically using english, though she just stared at me.

"Geh!" Atelie swayed her arms open as if asking for a hug.

"Hmm... What should I do." For now I took an additional cushion that Ms Vera had left and placed it on my lap, I also raised the height of my chair.

"Alright Lady Atelie! Let's learn together!" I place the baby on my lap and we started reading the books Ms Vera gave me.

Now that I thought about it, Atelie isn't a baby. She's more like a small toddler, her age is somewhere near 3. She's able to crawl and make sounds with her mouth so its safe to assume she's a toddler.

"Hmm... This language is hard to learn..." I was in the middle of learning Daradian, I wonder if there was a language like this on earth.

"Si elt atlasz." Oh! I'm getting the hang of it, I just introduced myself in Daradian.

Daradian is the language most spoken in the Divine Demon Faction so I should make sure that I am fluent in that.

By the way, most of the conversations that happened between Ms Vera, Librarian, Fable and Master Savien were mostly telepathic but Master Savien had talked in Daradian.

"Yavel atelie, spiz dag ven? I spoke in Daradian to Atelie this time and asked how she was, again I was met with no response.

I also realized when using telepathy there is no language barrier, it seems that the thoughts of one person though in different language is being automatically translated. That's why Ms Vera and I were able to communicate and convey our concerns accordingly.

Maybe I should teach Atelie english during my spare time after my tests.

For now, let's focus on learning Daradian.

Before I knew it, hours had passed while I studied. Atelie seemed to be also awake and actively studying with me, she might really develop a passion for books in the future.

As time went by I could understand the sentences from the other books as they were written in Daradian, I read the War between the Divine Demons and Behtman Angels in a History book.

The war was started from a conflict 4000 years ago where two factions had been created, their ideals had never corroborated with each other.

Both Factions were unable to come to a compromise so they waged war against each other, that was the gist of it but there were other factors that played a part in igniting the start of the war.

I had also learnt of the five continents of this world.

1. The Human Continent - Mostly humans are the dominant inhabitants of this continent.

2. The Elven Continent - Purely elves live here, no other race is permitted to live here.

3. The Dwarven Continent - This continent actually has the most diversity in terms of races though Dwarves still take up 60% of the population

4. The Demon Continent - This continent has all kinds of demons and monsters, most of them are hostile to the other continents.

5. The Labyrinth Continent - Filled with mostly Labyrinths and Dungeons, many adventurers who look to gain fame or find valuable treasure.

Currently I am in the Demon Continent, Doflos Province which is the Necromancer Savien's territory.

I also learnt of the political map of the world, the Behtman Angel faction currently resides in the Human and the Dwarven continent while the Divine Demon faction only resides in the Demon Continent.

I am unsure about the details of Ms Vera's plan but its possible that we'll be escaping to the Dwarven Continent since its the nearest to the Demon Continent, there are also demons there so it is not like we'll stick out too much.

This means that I should learn at least two other languages, I should ask Ms Vera for lessons on Daradian.

I'll learn Daradian and the universal language that everyone understands Trahurae, I could speak some basic sentences like, "Kivro piok kims quk?" which means Hi How are you?

Its fun learning new languages but they take a long time to master and become fluent in unless you learn it when your young, it'd be good if Atelie learns all the languages so that we'll have no problem if we need to travel around the world.

Ah I should speak to Atelie in english, it'll be good so that unless someone from earth comes, only Atelie and I can communicate without any chance of anyone understanding. It'll be like a 'coded' language.

I first wrote down the english alphabet, basic sentences and vocabulary. With that written down, I just needed to start teaching Atelie now.

It'd be nice if I had an actual voice to speak instead of using telepathy, maybe I could recreate my vocal cords using the Magic String Theory?

It was worth a shot, I want a voice similar to my old one.

Visualize a vocal cord? That's difficult, I don't have any idea how that works. Isn't it like vibrating in different ways which produces sound? I remember taking biology in school, this is harder than I thought.

Ah wait... I remember now, its the voice flaps that fold or something. They come together and then vibrate as air passes through them. That's more or less the idea, I can try to visualize it properly now.

Alright I just need to focus my mana near my neck, i'll try to copy how it'll look too.

I could feel something forming in my neck, I tried seeing whether my vocal cords had formed.

There wasn't anything there, maybe its like how I move. I don't have anything moving me that can be visibly be seen but magic is moving me, I'll try speaking then.

"Ahhh- Ah! Haow!" Oh shit I did it! I can't speak proper words but i'm able to produce sounds. Atelie stared at me as I struggled to say my first words.

"La- L- Ah- teh- Li-" This is so much harder than making my body move easier.

"Gah! Heh!" Atelie was mimicking me, she heard me making noise so she's copying me now.

"He- Hel- H- Hello!" My first word was hello, its only been about 12 hours since I came to this world but I'm able to speak again.

I point towards Atelie, with my cold bone finger.

"At- Atel- Atelie." I was able to say her name, I wonder if she knows what's her name.

In response, Atelie grabbed my finger and giggled. How can a baby be so cute, its like she's a daughter that I should've had on earth. Why did I stay single? I could've had a cute baby like Atelie. Never mind, no use regretting things in the past.

"I- I a- am- At! Atlas!" I introduced myself while stuttering to Atelie.

"Gah!" It seems like Atelie has acknowledged me in some way.
