《Fighter's Journey In Pokemon World》11. Pewter Gym Battle

In the Early morning, Dean was in front of the laboratory saying goodbyes to the Oak family, well specifically to Professor and Daisy who was about to cry. He just patted her head and said
"We will meet soon" Daisy just nodded without a word. He gave Gary just a nod who just simply stared at him 'I guess he has come a long way but he still needs to work on his attitude' and he finally gave a handshake to the professor
Dean: "Thank you for everything professor" professor also smiled
Prof.Oak: "It's my pleasure, Dean. I wish you success in your journey" Dean smiled hearing this and said
Dean: "Goodbye" after saying that he just walked without turning back.
Professor: "Oh Damn! I forgot to tell him about the Egg that will be delivered a few days from now" he mumbled as looked at his granddaughter who was upset about dean leaving and sighed.
'If I stay there I might become too attached to the family' Dean thought as he walked into the viridian forest and finally reached pewter city just before the sunset. he went straight to the pokemon centre and nurse joy was happy to see Dean again. he asked for the room and went straight to the room as he was tired. he already thought of which pokemon to use during the journey so he had a quick shower and went to sleep.
In the morning he woke up did a morning jog, had breakfast and went out of the pokemon centre for the gym battle. He was pretty excited for his first gym battle. He walked in the direction of the gym as he already knows the way towards the pewter city gym. He entered the gym
Dean: " Hello" he looked at the man who sat there reading a book. After hearing that someone greeting him Brock stood up and glanced at him.
Brook: " Yes?"
Dean: " I'm Dean and I'm here for the gym battle" he introduced himself ' Has he opened his eyes or closed, I can't even tell' he thought as looked at the spiky-haired gym leader.
Brock: " I'm Brock, The gym leader of this gym and I accept your challenge" he glanced at him 'Why does he look familiar' he shook his head and put that thought to the back of his head. " This will be 2 vs 2 battle and only the challenger is allowed to substitute " seeing that Dean was nodding "Let's go"
Brock: " Go Geodude" he called his pokemon.
Geodude gave a cry. Dean released his pokemon
machop loudly announced after entering. Machop has grown over the past three months, he also put on quite a muscles as he trained his body everyday without caring for the weather and that training bore fruit in the form of muscles.
Brock: 'That machop looks bigger than the normal ones, looking at the muscles on the machop this trainer should have trained it hard. I see he is the trainer from three months ago. Interesting' he started "Let's start the match. Geodude Use Rock throw"

Dean just said: " Take cover"
Geodude starts throwing the rocks it had gathered from its surroundings but Machop was taking cover behind the rock which was barely covering his body.
Dean: " Come out machop" he lightly said before sighing ' I thought Rock throw would come out with greater speed'
Brock: ' What is he thinking calling machop out of hiding?' but the next actions of machop made him surprised.
machop started catching stones and dropping it by his feet.
geodude started hurling rocks at machop at even greater speed but machop caught every single stone
Brock: ' I can't go on like this as machop has a great stamina, geodude will wear out after some time' he frowned " Use Rollout". Geodude threw the last rock at machop's face but machop caught it just as it was about to hit his face and crushed the stone with his right hand with a grin on his face.
Dean: "Dodge it".
Geodude came rolling crushing the small stones along its path, Machop just sidestepped as soon it reached in front of him, geodude continued to roll even crushing the rocks machop collected from the rock throw and hit the rock where machop was hiding earlier
Brock cried: "Full powered Tackle" Brock knew the rollout had failed so he thought to do some damage with tackle since machop was close enough
Dean: " Catch it" he ordered 'I could have karate chopped when it was turning towards machop but lets test machop's strength"
Brock: ' What's with this trainer, is he deliberately trying to injure his machop by asking it to catch the tackle' brock couldn't understand dean.
Machop extended its hands and caught the full-powered tackle. Machop was pushed back continuously but slowly stopped after skidding back 10 steps. Dean seeing this
Dean: " Throw it up". machop suddenly put its hands below geodude's arms and sent it flying upwards. ' Machop can even lift graveler so sending geodude flying would be no problem' he thought
Brock: " Use defense curl" Brock was astonished by the machop's strength as it caught the tackle just like that and before he gave the command geodude was already in the air so he was hoping to reduce the damage to geodude using the defense curl
Dean watched geodude fall from the air and knew what to do so he asked machop.
Dean: "Get close" machop dashed towards the general area where geodude will fall. Brock seeing this panicked lightly.
Brock: "Geodude as soon as you hit the ground Use roll out" But Dean already foresaw it, just as it was few inches above the ground
Dean: "Give geodude a good low sweep" he indifferently said. Machop who was already near to the geodude slightly bent its right leg and extended the left leg back and did a full sweep with its left leg hitting the curled up pokemon before it touched the ground. Geodude was swept from the field and smashed onto the wall on Brock's side like a football. Brock was shocked and he lightly turned his head to see his pokemon stuck to the wall creating a small hole and it was knocked out.

Dean witnessing this also smiled "Good job buddy". Brock came out of his shock quickly and said seriously
Brock: "You have a strong machop there" he looked at the machop that might give onix a tough battle but he was confident in his onix "You've won this round. I'm sending my final pokemon" he returned his geodude and released his pokemon
Onix came out of the Pokeball
Dean returned his machop gaining a raised eyebrows from brock. He called out his second pokemon
Brock seeing this paled lightly as it was water pokemon and observed the pokemon to find that this pokemon was also bigger than normal poliwags. 'Where does he get his pokemon or what does he feed his pokemon?' his curiosity was picked.
Brock: "This will be a tough battle partner Get ready" onix roared after hearing Brock "Onix Use rock Thr- , No Use rock slide, " He guessed Dean's pokemon might be strong so he switched to rock slide. Dean hearing it just smiled
Onix smashed it's tail on the hard ground creating a small pit and dust, Onix picked up the large rock it created from it's smashing and flung them at poliwag one after an another. Dean simply looked at the strong Onix and said
Dean: "Smash it using water gun" Poliwag didn't even flinch seeing the boulders it only inhaled a little air and pushed the water out of his mouth, water came out like a bullet, gushing out hitting the larger rocks smashing it into a medium sized pieces which were scattered all across the battlefield. Water gun after demolishing the two boulders one after another hit onix pushing it back a little. Onix was still harmed from the weakened water gun. Dean looked at the powerful water gun and was proud to have helped poliwag increase its power behind it.
Brock: 'He said water gun right? That looked like a mini-hydro pump!' he was already getting tired of battling this outrageous trainer "Onix Use Tackle"
onix looked at the poliwag from the top and rushed down with speed to hit the water pokemon.
Dean: "Use bubble beam and dodge", as soon as Onix came close, a spray of bubbles came from poliwag's mouth hitting the large body of Onix reducing its speed and injuring it in the process. Poliwag just jumped to the side when Onix came crashing its upper body.
Brock: "Use dig" he smiled lightly as he thought he could give a surprise attack from the dig, Onix immediately went into the ground. Dean glanced at Brock and then at the ground waiting
Dean: "Be alert". Both Dean and poliwag inspected the ground intently for any tremors. Brock after observing that poliwag had no idea where Onix might be so he called
Brock: "Full power tackle from the ground". As soon as he said that the ground started to shake lightly at first and it got bigger and bigger. Dean just waited till one point and called
Dean: "Use water gun to propel yourself up". poliwag used water gun below to push itself in the air like a rocket. Just as poliwag was few feet away from the ground Onix came rushing out of the ground from underneath destroying the medium sized rocks stuck on the ground along the way creating a hole in the battlefield. It went straight towards Poliwag but poliwag was already in the air and it increased the power of water gun to go higher to escape the tackle. Poliwag stopped using water gun as it was finally out of reach of the fully extended onix
Dean: "Mud shot to its eyes"Poliwag threw a ball of mud to its eyes as Onix was relatively close to poliwag in the air. Mud shot hit its eyes accurately temporarily blinding the onix. Brock instead of panicking started to laugh
Brock: "You may have escaped the tackle from the ground, how will poliwag gonna came down safely. Onix Dig once again," he thought 'I'm going to attack as soon as poliwag touches the ground besides that water gun is dangerous for Onix to stay above ground' Dean just looked at the poliwag as it started to fall and he looked at the ceiling and smiled
Dean: "Like this. Poliwag looks right above your head and uses water gun on the ceiling" Poliwag looked up and used the water gun which hit the ceiling pushing poliwag vertically downwards from a greater height. When it was rushing the towards the ground
Dean: "Body Slam" he smiled after saying but Brock was shocked seeing this as he had never even heard anything like this but he recovered rapidly "Onix Use harden quick," Dean thought 'Good thinking on harden but Is onix fast enough to execute it at this stage' Onix which was halfway down the dig tried to abandon the Dig but the Bodyslam powered by water gun of Poliwag came crashing down on the middle of the Onix's snake like body.
Brock: "ONIX!"
Onix gave a cry and the force from the body slam pushed Onix's mid part of the body further into the ground creating a huge crater, dust from the collision started to spread across the battleground Brock covered his eyes to prevent the dust from entering but Dean squinted staring at the battlefield and a few moments later one could see Onix's tail and head sticking out from the ground looking unconscious. Poliwag stood beside the Onix's head
Dean: " I guess it must have taken the damage from earlier moves" he muttered 'Onix and their ridiculous defences' he shook his head.
poliwag was jumping happily. Dean was just about to say a something but he suddenly heard a faint noise.
*Creak* he glanced up and watched the central beam intently for few seconds before thinking 'SHIT'

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all.
