《Pink Mage》152, Dun Dun Dun Dun, Dun Dun Dun Dun, Do do do!

Micky looked out amongst the trolls gathered before him. There were all sorts of trolls, net trolls, bridge tolls… sorry bridge trolls, groupy trolls, work trolls. Trolls were a type of creature of darkness. They were dark spirits that inhabited places, things, and even people. They enjoyed chaos and strife, even at the detriment of themselves. It was a twist of fate then that they were actually highly social creatures.
Micky might have even enjoyed having the work trolls underneath him. While they would never cause problems for the boss, his supply staff and builder corps are very thankful that he appreciated the other tribals more. After all, a troll is a troll, even if it was once human with a shiny stone that made it into a sword… I think that’s how it worked, not completely sure about that.
Anyway, the biggest problem was that this place would need to be cleansed. He was glad that Maymay was out and about cleaning up enemy combatants marauding in the forest. The evil spirits from these trolls could infect her and turn her into a troll queen. Now wouldn’t that be just terrible.
Unfortunately the only white mage Micky knew of was in Amelai’s entourage of very powerful adventurers/bodyguards that were completely loyal to her and raised since small children to be her companions. Come to think of it they weren’t really adventurers at all were they? Maybe if they didn’t all have rare to epic level classes at a minimum they would indeed be adventurers working for her parents. Instead they followed her around, and likely reported everything she said or did to her parents. It was a good thing then that there were a large number of females to male ratio in her entourage. It was also good that her fiancee wasn’t jealous, for the male members…
Micky would instead have to ask the priests. Priests that were persnickety about such things. So first he would go to the druids who would bring things back to nature. As this would make the priests who prefer civilisation jealous. Then they could purify the net… probably with their heavenly doctrine, but Micky could just relogate that to a small out of the way area, away from the parts of the net that were actually useful.

The young trolls have been shredded now. Their pebbly and unwashed hides punctured with ballista bolts or burnt with the fire of the sun. While they could walk out under the sun, as that was a myth, sun mana was a different story. It was why he had been storing up sun mana with the most modern techniques available. By putting it into water with the help of some priests. Oddly enough, as a ritual that was relevant to most of their gods, they were ok with that.
Now that all of the youths were obliterated, with this only increasing the morale of the older trolls, the elder trolls were preparing to battle. It wasn’t going to be very easy either. Since trolls were mobile siege equipment and oddly enough too intelligent. They were seen as dumb simply because they were more intelegent than most of the races. This also was a problem for the trolls as they often didn’t use this intelligence as could be seen with their earlier plan. Only when they felt themselves in true danger would they use their superior mind.
So as they charged out amongst the field Micky ordered the mobile walls to be deployed and for the workers to retreat as they brought them forward. These would be to hard for the large bodied trolls to navigate without destroying them. Meanwhile the much smaller races would be able to dodge and weave amongst them. Trolls were also known for their bloodlust, while they loved a good joke, they hated being the punchline. This was why he was having the male murlocs take the charge and dodge and weave amongst the now wreckage of the mobile walls.
The trolls were properly enraged now. It didn’t help that the murlocs were slapping their rears at them. The trolls were looking like porcupines with all of the arrows and javelins sticking out of their bodies, but their regen was keeping them pinned inside their flesh.
This was a good thing for what was to happen next. Micky released the signal and now that ¾ of the trolls were inside the wreckage of the mobile walls the fireballs and flaming catapult shells were landing amongst them. Fire worked well in these situations. It was a well known bane of any regen state short of the elementals.

Micky laughed maniacally as he launched his own new concoction from a catapult. He would stick several viles into a contraption meant to spread them out as they flew into the air and as they landed they set multiple trolls alight. Reeling himself back he regained his stoic image as he commanded Prin and her pals to charge. Ironically that was her divisions name, Prin’s Pals. But it was enough and it worked for them, so who was he to judge.
Micky had them round up the trolls, none could escape. All the while he played pretend fire mage and used his newfound pyromania to burn things to the ground. But soon horns blew and a new enemy appeared. The enemy seemed to have a vulnerability detection skill, no doubt something they gained from having to dodge Amelia all the time. But Micky was also prepared. He knew it was coming, simply because it was so obvious. He would have been disappointed had they not attacked.
The forward section of the base was a flaming wall of fire as well as tro other sides. The trolls were being hammered against said wall with nowhere to retreat. And while the fires grew the enemy would never be able to attack those sides. This left only one point to actually attack. In other words it was the perfect defensive set up. So now they were no longer surrounded on all sides, but actually only surrounded on one side with no way to retreat. Not that they needed it in a defensive set up like this.
The enemy sensing weakness struck out. But the wall they struck was full of defenders. All of Micky’s infantry was on the wall for defense. While the archers had switched and everything that could help the fires grow was doing that. It was true that they would eventually break the wall should they continue the attack. But that was only in case of a siege. And there was no way they could keep up a siege without Amelia or some other help arriving. So while they were weak. It was relative.
This just proved to Micky that they were using a skill and not personal judgement. Skills weren’t always the best to judge solely on. They required a mind to interpret the information. Oh well, they would learn, or they would die here and never learn. Preferably the latter option for Micky.
Prin, already being outside the walls harassing the trolls, was also prepared for a counter offensive on them. Had she still been inside the walls it would have been much harder or impossible to break out. But then the outpost wouldn’t have been weak ither.
Launching everything Micky had to finish off the trolls it was time to destroy these raiders once and for all. He couldn’t alow them to attack later. He needed to finish this.
With the trolls gone and nothing to hold him back the invaders felt the winds shift, metaphorically. They sounded the horns to retreat but it was far to late. Micky Himself launched new concoctions to create a line of fire behind the enemy combatants to prevent any form of retreat. They were just raidners attacking a fortified base. Micky had all the supplies he could ever need or want while they were just raiders that only had what they could bring along. Which was admittedly not much. So they charged in an ill fated offnsive in order to take the walls take the gates. Just take something.
Unfortunately it was not to be. Micky was well prepared for this and the invaders were not. It was soon apparent that they would not make it out. The mages that were in the back ran while they still could with only the supplies they could physically carry. Even the supply caravan ran away not even bothering with that. It was smart of them, since they weren’t rounded up later by Prin.
