《Farmer: The first》Contract

" What do you mean, more people? I thought that you would bring only your sister." said the elf as she was still under campuflage at a tree nearby.

"Uhhhh, yeah I know that, but something came up and.....uh, you know they don't have to stay with me, they just have to be safe until this is over ." said Jason as he scratched his head making the elf from and think about the situation.

' Is he testing me? First asking for something in return and now asking me to house some people, is this to see till where I go? It's possible, but is he really doing that?' thought the elf as she looked at Jason's stupid race and sighed.' It seems that I'll have a loot of explaining to do to the elders.'

"What is the number of people that you're asking to house?" said the elf as she once again broke her camoiflage.

"There are four people including my sister, all female and none of them is a combat class. They are some villagers that I'm somewhat close with and they have nowhere else to go after the undead attacked their village."

"I see.....

Well, I can very well accommodate them to one of my safehouses, but for now I need to tell me about that undead attack that you mentioned. "

"The undead attacking the village? Didn't you know about that?" said Jason with surprise as he saw the elf shaking her head." Well, about three hours ago about 50 zombies and skeletons, mostly zombies, attacked the village I was staying. They killed most of the males and only because of me they managed to stay alive."

"You... saved them? How did you do that?"

"Simple." said Jason as he smiled proudly at the elf" At the time I was out of the village and I coincidentally came back at the same time as the attack was taking place. I noticed two skeletons standing guard at the gate instead of the usual guards and understood that something had happened. I went around so as not to be seen and noticed that undead had backed the villager's into a corner.

They were chipping away at them slowly and I was about to join the fight when I noticed an unusual zombie at the back, a ' Commander Zombie'. He didn't seem to be interested in joining the fight and stayed back and that perplexed me until I remembered the two skeletons standing at the gate."

"You thought that he was guarding against a sneak attack?" said the elf as she seemed to be thinking about something." That is possible, but I think that there is a more probable reason that he didn't join the fight. He didn't want to damage the bodies to much so he was tiring them first."

"What, why would he do that? Why tire them out first , before killing them, it doesn't make any sense at all."

"But it does." said the elf with a worried look on her face." If you have Necromancer's on your side it's a very obvious move. The better the condition of the dead bodies , the better and longer lasting is the zombie it is produced, especially the brain.

If what I'm thinking is right then that means that the other villages around here have also meet the same fate as your village. This while region is about to become a graveyard....."

Jason heard the words of the elf carefully and finally understood why the corpses of the villagers were taken. They were going to be turned to zombies, and if that happened to every village around here, then the number of zombies would definitely be no less than 1000.

' It seems that war is inevitable at this point. This 'Dark Church', it's even more terrifying than I thought at first. It not only dares to massacre villages, but it also dares to go against the empire so openly.....

What a bad time to be reincarnated.' thought Jason as he talked to the elf about the arrangements. He would be staying with her at her treehouse from before and the others were going to be staying at another smaller treehouse some distance away.

"Uh, is that other treehouse safe? Seeing that the forest is filled with monsters , shouldn't it be dangerous for them to stay there? Also, how should they get up there?" said Jason as he saw the place his sister and the others would he staying. The house was up on a very big tree and it was very hard to spot if you weren't actively looking for it, so it was a very good place to hide .

"Don't worry, most of the monsters around here have been killed by me and I'll be ordering my Windtail Hawk to protect this place. If they mostly stay around here and don't go deep into the forest, they will be fine.

Now, come!" said the elf , but she didn't move from her spot making Jason a little perplexed.

"Uh, where are we going?"questioned Jason as he saw the unmoving elf and worried a little.

"I was not talking to you, I was talking to him." said the elf as she pointed to a tree not far from them. Jason followed her finger and was barely able to see the figure of what looked to be a fox, a green tailed fox.

"It's that fox!" exclaimed Jason as he remembered the encounter. Although his wounds may have healed, he still remembered the pain.

"What's it doing here?" said Jason gritting his teeth.

"That 'forest spirit' is going to be your map and also your companion from now on. It'll guide you towards my treehouse and it'll also he helping you to grow stronger."

"Help me grow stronger?" said Jason as he saw the fox slowly get down of the ground and head towards them. As soon as Jason prepared to kick the shit out of it, a notification appeared before him.

Will you accept spirit contract with ' Lesser Forest Spirit'? Yes. No.

Jason was left speechless as that notification appeared before him, the same as the time he was almost dying.

"Accept it." said the elf noticing Jason's surprised face." It's going to be good for your growth as you can exchange your spirit energy when the contract is finished. With that you will be able to stay for longer periods of time inside a dungeon, making raising your level easier.

There is also going to be other benefits , but it will not matter to you."

"That so...." said Jason as he thought about what was happening , but he hesitated as he didn't know if something would happen to him if he accepted it.

"Uhhh, do I have to accept this?"

"Yes, you 'really' have no choice." said the elf as she tightly grabbed Jason's shoulder.

"Fine, fine I get it!" said Jason as he selected yes with his mind. He prepared himself for the worst, but nothing bad happened to him. On the opposite he even managed to gain something.
