Chapter 20 – Waking up

I can now felt a sensation of having a physical body. I felt the wind, and the grass that was on my back, I can hear the birds, rustling of trees, and some footsteps running through the grass. I can hear them shout in a childish manner; hmmm I guess they’re children.

Girl: “HEEEEEYYYYY!!!! Are you alright?”

Boy: “Maybe his dead, someone can’t survive from falling that high.”

Girl: “Bernard, stop it. Let’s check if his still alive okay?”

Bernard: *sigh* “Okay, Sophia, but let’s hurry up and get this water back to the village, master might get mad again if we’re late.”

As they run to my side. The girl named Sophia checked my pulse for signs of heartbeat. Her hand was so warm, and I was surprised that this kid knows this kind of things, not a typical child who would shake someone to wake them up; this kid is a smart kid. Maybe her Master taught her that.

Bernard: “so how was he? His dead right, falling from the sky and breaking some thick tree branch, I’m sure his dead. Let’s go and not waste any time.”

Sophia: “You’re wrong, he’s alive and his heartbeat is strong, I’m also surprised that he manages to survive from falling, but I’m just glad that he’s alive.”

Bernard: “What!!, are you serious?? Let me check for broken bones and other fractures, so we can help him and bring him back to the village.”

What? This kid knows a lot of things, who the fuck was their Master? Now I’m the one who’s surprised. The boy gentle touches and looks all over my body, arms, and legs.

Bernard: “This kid sure was lucky to have no fracture and bruises, help me carry him at my back, and go back to the village.”

As I don’t want to be carried around, I slowly opened my eyes, and slowly got up to a sitting position. As my eyes adjust to the brightness of the surrounding I can hear them asking many questions.

Sophia: “Hey!! Are you okay? My name is Sophia, what’s your name?”

Bernard: “Hey kid, where did you come from, and why did you fall from the sky? What are you, a God from Heaven and fell from the sky?” *note: he is talking about the new God, the Celestials, not God Elous, as you know that they forgot about The Divine Providence*

Me: “uhhmmm, my name?”

I didn’t really know if I’m going to use my Earth name Laurence or some other name.. I just hold my head as I think of a name.

Sophia: “Hey, does your head hurts?”

Me: “uhhmm ,sorry.. it doesn’t hurt, thank you.. my name is.. Elous.”

You have named yourself Elous.

I can’t think of a better name, so I just used my God name.

Bernard: “huh, Elous, what an odd name, my name is Bernard and this is Sophia, she’s my little sister. Hey I got my eyes on you little boy, don’t you plan on proposing to my little sister, I’m watching you..” as he glared at me with tiger eyes.

I just replied with a wryly smile, and nod.

Sophia: “Hey Bernard, stop scarring Elous. His not going to propose to me, we’re still kids you know, and he might not even know those kinds of things.”

*What the hell are they talking about? To my perspective they looked like 7 to 8 years old.*

Bernard: “Hey, Sophia.. How many times do I have to tell you to call me Big Brother.? *sigh*

Sophia: “Hmmmm about seven hundred and eighty-two times, no that’s eighty-three now, hihi.. bleeehhh… Bernard”

Bernard: “ARGHHHHH….”

“Oh I forgot, you didn’t tell us where you came from Elous.”

Elous: “ahhh sorry, I can’t really remember anything except my name.”

Bernard squinted his eyes in suspicion.

Bernard: “hmmmmm…Reeeeaaaallllyyyyy?”

Sophia: “Heyy, Bernard stop that, he must have hit his head from the branches and lost his memories, stop being hard on him.”

Bernard: *sigh* “okay, if you really don’t know where you came from, you can stick with us, let Master be in charge on what to do with you.”

Sophia: “Let’s go, Elous don’t worry Master is not that scary I promise” as she gave me a sweet smile, I know that when she grows up she will be a real beauty.

Sophia has a chestnut colored hair while her brother has a black hair, hmmm must be from their mother and father. But they don’t look like siblings, they were wearing a nice piece of clothing, not too fancy but simple, they also has those wooden sleepers like the Japanese, what do you call them Geta I think.

We are now walking to get their pails of water, and when I looked at the water and saw my complexion, I really do look like a kid. Well I did put 6 years old at the age stats of my soul before I reincarnate. As we walked deeper inside the forest the view gets foggier and shadowy. Bernard told me to stick very very close to him, as I might lose sight of them. I just followed his order and stick to them “very” close.

On my eyes, I can see a transparent mini map on the upper right corner of my eye sight. Well this is a real life video game after all. There were also menu on the upper left corner, as I think of the word “menu” a sub bar opened containing: stats, skills, inventory, equipment, and map.

I think of “stats”, and a window pops out in my view.

My intelligence was so high in just level 0, maybe it’s because I know a lot, and somehow the adjustment of stats, and level was on, that’s why it’s just 200. Then I checked my Skills.

HAHAHA.. This is my special skill, like my pet dragon Stevarth I’m also a void user. Maybe I’ll do some experiment about my magic.

I didn’t check my equipment and inventory, because as you know, I have nothing, just simple clothes and pants, or as they call it beginners clothes in rpg games and similar.

I can hardly see a thing and even where I’m suppose to step on; I just grab Sophia and Bernard’s clothes and tag along. As we walk and walk for about a few kilometers, I can now see lights, and when we got closer, it was more of a shrine with a lot of houses. There were a lot of plowed fields, and different crops were planted there. Most of the building where built with woods and the base was stones. As we got to the entrance four guards greeted us, they seemed to be something like samurai, but not quite sure.

Guard1: “Hey how’s it going Sophia, Bernard, seems like we have a guest here.” he looked at me from head to foot.

Guard2: “Hey, hey, hey, don’t be so hard looking at the kid.”

Guard3: “We just need to checked him out if he is an assassin or somewhat enemy. Who knows?” *What are kids that dangerous these days? -Elous*

Guard4: “hahaha, hey kid. Don’t be scared we’re just going to search for anything dangerious, and if you happened to cause any trouble at this village.. You have no place here!!..”

The last guard threatens me while slowly half sheathed his katana. I gulp and showed an expression of being scared. *and the best actor goes to, drum roll please.* as Bernard saw my scared reaction, and he immediately backed me up..

Bernard: “Hey guys, easy, easy! I’ll be the one looking at him, he also needs to meet Master.”

Guard4: “And for what reason?”

Sophia: “This kid, I mean Elous, falls from that sky, and where just giving him some hand, he doesn’t know where he came from so we’re going to ask Master for help.”

Guard1: “A kid from the sky??”

All the Guards laugh so hard..

Guard3: “HAHAHA, can you believe this..hahaha a kid from the sky.”

Sophia: “But I’m telling the truth.”

Bernard: “Sophia, just let it go.”

“So are you going to let us in or what? We still need to deliver this water to Master, I’m sure Master will not like it if I told him that the “GUARDS” hold us off, and I’m sure he will be angry for waiting too long for his bath water.”

All the guards whispered to one another and were a bit scared. Hmmm surely they don’t want “Master” to be mad.

Guard4: “Okay you can go inside, but make sure you keep an eye at that kid ok?”

Bernard: “hahaha, sure thing”

We now entered the village as all the guards were still looking at me. There were a few people on the streets, hmmm maybe they’re at the market of something.

Elous: “If I may I ask? Does this village have wells or any source of water, and why do you need to fetch water from a far place?”

Sophia: “Hahaha there are wells her at the village Elous, and this waters are special water from a pond. This water will keep your skin young if you bath in them, that’s why master always ordered all the novice to fetch this waters. You know when you’re getting old, you still want to look young I guess. Hahaha.”

Bernard: “And you seemed to have a lot of stamina for a kid, even though we walk six and a half miles. You didn’t even break any sweat.”

Sophia: “Yeah I noticed that too, you must have gone through a lot of training like us. May I know what level are you now Elous?”

Elous: “Well I’m still at the lowest level 0.”

The two just looked at each other..

Bernard: “You’re kidding right? HA HA HA, that was funny, but seriously what’s you level, I’m about level 16 and Sophia was 7.”

Elous: “I’m not kidding or anything, haha.”

Sophia: “Are you sure? How old are you Elous? My big brother is 7 and I’m 6.”

Elous: “I’m the same as you, I’m 6.”

“If I may ask, how come there are no monsters around the forest?”

Bernard: *sigh* “I’m sure you’re just bluffing, you’re maybe around level 10. About the monsters, most of the older children here hunt monsters for training and leveling, that’s why some parts of the forest were safe. But be sure not to get lost, most high leveled monster were at the north of the forest, and weaker monster are on the west and east side, well some weak monsters rarely ventured at where we came from, that’s why we manage to leveled up somehow while always fetching the Special Water.”

Sophia: “hihi, And Welcome Elous to the Shadow Village, it is located at the middle of the Shadow Forest, it’s safe because the forest protect the village from bandits and other bad people, there is only about 00.01% chance in finding this village, so consider yourself lucky to be here. And for additional information, this is a ninja village.”

As the word ninja came to my ear, some shadows can be seen on the roof jumping all over the place, and some people wore black garb or ninja clothing (Shinobi Shozoku). In my mind I was like “OHHHHHH, I’m gonna be a Hokage someday”, wait, what that’s not me,hahaha.. I definitely want to live here and train here; I want ninja to be my class. *nod* *nod*

Elous: “Yes Sophia, I’m really lucky to be here, I thank you and Bernard.”

Bernard: “hahaha, be sure to pay us for what we did.”

Sophia: “Hey Bernard..” *sigh*

Bernard: “hahaha, just kidding, now let’s go and meet Master.”

I and Sophia nod in agreement to Bernard, and we walked hurriedly to the Center of the Village where there was a HUGE TALL Building.
