Chen Yun look to the owner of the voice and found a young boy who carries a large bag behind his back having a scent of different plants.

His appearance was quite ordinary with pockmarks on his cheeks but his innocent eyes which were devoid of any malicious intent that they think he’s not a bad child.

“Yes, I will be going inside why?” Chen Yun said as he smiled.

“Would you not mind I tag along with you?” The boy said.

“No way, you’re only at the peak of Mortal Realm” Chen Yun quickly declined as he gestured.

“I-I just needed to pick some medicinal plants in order for me to earn money so that I can heal my mother.” The boy wanted to reply but his voice were growing fainter as he mumbled his way to the end of his sentence.

If not for Chen Yun taking a good focus towards what he said he may have missed some details regarding the boy in front of him.

“Boy, what is your name?” Chen Yun asked.

“I’m Zhong Yi.” Zhong Yi replied while lowering his head looking at his two ragged sandals.

Zhong Yi was wearing a white robe with no any intricacies only its pure white color of the robe which was somewhat appealing to the eye, but his pair of sandals which was now dirtied by the earth and clearly have hints of an arduous journey.

When Chen Yun saw this he couldn’t help but reminisced his past self which was like him, a weak person, though he was not the same as him having weak parents and would work in order to help them but in some other way it resembles him, the weak looking boy who can be deceived and be bullied by any bystanders.

“In what layer do you want to harvest medicinal plants?” Chen Yun asked.

“…Really!?... Would you really help me?” Zhon Yi’s eyes gleamed.

“I want to help but it was my first time entering the Earth Shaking Mountain Range so I don’t know what might happen when we enter.” Chen Yun said wanting to scare the boy and test him if he was scared or not.

“T-then I lead the way I know all the location in the first three layers but beyond that, I don’t dare to know or much less venture further” Zhong Yi timidly answered but he was now looking at Chen Yun with anticipation in his eyes.

Though Chen Yun knew the layers of Earth Shaking Mountain Range it was different if a person experienced it themselves rather than just looking or reading that experience of the person.

The Earth Shaking Mountain Range has nine layers in total, in every layer have an increase of danger but with great danger will have a great opportunity that some people will gamble in order to claim treasures inside the Earth Shaking Mountain Range.

The most famous history has someone killed an ancient skeleton of a demonic beast which was at the Peak of Horizon Realm!

And he was the founder of the Mo Clan, many rumors regarding the Mo Clan stated that this Clan was a barbarian clan which makes them appears not to fear death as their blood boil every time they fight. “Then let’s go.” Chen Yun said to Zhong Yi.

“Mn!” Zhong Yi happily nodded.

They headed straight inside the Earth Shaking Mountain Range’s entrance.

Five hours earlier and the sky was still dark, a cloaked person appears in the entrance.

He sighed, because of his cover he was obscured of who he was.

He didn’t dally any further as he headed inside even the howls of the night echoed into his ears.

The journey of Chen Yun and Zhong Yi was quite easy as if they were touring in the zoo, but a zoo that didn’t have any animals makes Chen Yun feels a bit uncomfortable.

Zhong Yi said that in the first layer only the Swift Black Wolf appears, he even told Chen Yun to be on guard because even if the skies were bright those Swift Black Wolf would still hunt their preys though a bit less ferocious.

They were ten kilometers away from the entrance but they didn’t encounter any demonic beast as if someone paved a way for them earlier on.

But there was no scent of bloody battles.

Chen Yun was now vigilant. But as if Zhong Yi didn’t care if there will be something bad happened in the near future as he just constantly picked up the medicinal plants that they passed by and he hums an unknown song in his mouth that entails that he was happy but his goal reaching the third layer was so far which was three-hundred kilometers away from them.

In every layer distanced by a hundred kilometers and they had just arrived at twenty kilometers mark of the first layer.

Chen Yun always scanned the surrounding; he heightened his hearing and another sensory part of his body.

“humm~ hum~ hummm~>...

“What is it, Zhong Yi?” Chen Yun quickly asked.

“I smell an odor of an ash as if someone burned to death somewhere here.” Zhong Yi was closing his eyes as he concentrates himself regarding the smell.

“I smelled it too; I think that it was the Swift Black Wolf.” Chen Yun said.

“Really? How did you know?” Zhong Yi looked at Chen Yun with a question on his face.

Chen Yun looked at Zhong Yi’s innocent eyes and replied, “Because we haven’t encountered any demonic beast that you told me, I even thought that when we get past a distance of five-hundred meters away from the entrance, many demonic beasts will quickly appear but even one of them there was no such creatures.”

Awooooo!

“Not good! Let’s quickly leave here! A Swift Black Wolf cried for reinforcement!” Zhong Yi’s face changed to aghast.

‘Damn!’ Chen Yun thought.

“Let’s Go” Chen Yun while saying quickly grabbed Zhong Yi’s hands and channeled his elemental energy and activated the first stance the Clouded Steps and swiftly left the area and proceeded towards the inner part of the Earth Shaking Mountain Range.

After a couple of hours, Chen Yun and Zhong Yi reached the second layer of the Earth Shaking Mountain Range, as they chased their breath while heaving their chest heavily.

Chen Yun almost run out of elemental energy in his dantian.

After they calmed down they sat on the ground.

“Your movement technique was so fast that we reached the second layer in just two hours!” Zhong Yi was excited as if he discovered a new toy.

“Yes, we reached but I’ve lost plenty of elemental energy.” Chen Yun smiled bitterly as he replied.

When Zhong Yi heard his answer, he quickly reached his pouch inside his clothes and picked a round item form the pouch, when it came into view a medicinal fragrance wafts towards Chen Yun’s nose.

“Take this medicinal pill; it is an Elemental Energy Recovery Pill” Zhong Yi smilingly said as he reached out his hands handing over the pill.

“Can it replenish my lost elemental energy?” Chen Yun asked bewildered.

“Yes, but it depends on different users who eat it.” Zhong Yi replied.

‘I think I really look for the market when I return’ Chen Yun though as he took the medicinal pills.

A strong surge of elemental energy erupted from the pill as it dissolved in his throat then he quickly circulated the Minor Gathering Technique and a magnetic field surrounded him as the elemental energy of heaven and earth siphoned through his body, the elemental energy was warm and directly headed towards his meridians then to his dantian, when the elemental energy reached his meridians it turns from warm to cool and gathered at the upper part of his dantian.

Chen Yun’s elemental energy was typically lost but it was only at the entity of his two layered earth below his dantian but the upper part which was the elemental energy that in a fog form was not reduced and was still at the swelled up form, in order to replenish the energy of the two-layered earth at the bottom of his dantian, he can turn the swelled rainbow colored fog into liquid and rained down the earth below replenishing its elemental energy in exchange of the swelled up fog at the upper region of his dantian.

There is another way to replenish his elemental energy and was way shorter than the first one and it was breaking through the next rank!

And that was Chen Yun was doing right now!

At first, Chen Yun wanted to replenish his elemental energy through raining them down with the rainbow colored fog but when he saw that the swelled up fog was at its peak which was almost filled every corner if his dantian’s upper region then he gambled for it.

If he fails then he lost the stocked swelled fog and he couldn’t replenish his elemental energy for a short time. He was like detouring to another longer route than the short one if he fails.

If he were to succeed then it was a great harvest for him.

Zhong Yi was just looking amazed on the strands of elemental energy that transformed from the formless elemental energy outside the circular magnetic field surrounding Chen Yun as it passed through his body.

Chen Yun quickly gathers the elemental energy that he took from the Elemental Energy Recovery Pill and his Minor Gathering Technique, he quite puzzled again as to why his elemental energy was in rainbow color while the Elemental Energy Recovery Pill was colored in white indicating that it was a neutral elemental energy that can be influenced by one of the other elements.

When this white elemental energy gathers in his upper region of his dantian it was naturally influenced but it was divided into different colors which were now in rainbow color, and quickly filled the gap corner of his dantian’s upper region.

When he fully assimilated all the elemental energy of the Elemental Energy Recovery Pill, he quickly attempted to crack the swelled up rainbow colored fog while still continuing his Minor Gathering Technique.

Hoong! Hoong!

The swelled up fog resonated as it glows brightly and dims lightly.

Bzzt!

Suddenly, rainbow-colored lightning appears from the rainbow-colored fog. But the lightning strikes didn’t land below where his two-layered earth but it directly attacks the swelled up fog as if it was inflicting itself with its lightning strikes.

Bzztbang! Bzztbang! Bzztbang!

Sweat quickly accumulated on his forehead because of his intense focus while his brows were creased so down as if he was in agony but it was not.

When Zhong Yi saw this, he was in a panic!

A boy who was recently happily looking at the different colored strands of elemental energy was now in a great panic.

But it didn’t last long as he took a deep breath and calmed himself up, he quickly retrieved something inside his pouch, four pieces of a red colored flag.

He quickly plants it in the north, east, south, and west and Chen Yun as the focal point.

He then swiftly made a gesture that the flags brightens and in every flags a manifestation occurred, at the north appears a sword and its tip pointed to the ground while at the east was a knives and daggers crossing each other while its tips was pointing below the ground then to the south was a large hammer and its head also pointed towards the grounds, and the last was the west where a halberd appears and with the same position.

The four types of weapons suddenly erupted and turn into many small light particles like a star in a galaxy and gathers atop of Chen Yun’s head forming a white colored blazing spear pointing above the skies, if Chen Yun saw this, his jaws would drop to the ground because it was the same appearance of the enormous spear of the Blazing Spear City!
