《Decimating Gods and Demons》Chapter Three - Breakthrough! Forming Stage!

Popping sound always keeps ringing in Karloff’s ears and he can only sigh as the elemental energy was drastically dissipating when he was on a verge of breaking through. Every time he was at the crucial moment, the elemental energy in between his hands would suddenly explode like fireworks. For now, Karloff still continued his practice and he is revolving his two hands circularly, attempting again to have a breakthrough to the Forming Stage.
Poof!
Another failure...
Sigh . . .
“Why it feels so easy yet why is it so hard in doing it?” Karloff mumbled by himself, staring at his two hands feeling a little bit numb. Actually, reaching the Forming was a not an easy feat. The Cloud Hands Art is a technique having the Horizon Stage, Master level. Though it is not the strongest even can’t stand against a Legendary Realm martial technique but it was still one of the rare amongst rare martial techniques.
Executing the Horizon Realm martial technique by using his cultivation base of Mortal Realm is a shocking revelation, because most of the practitioner who cultivated the Cloud Hands Art started in the realm of Earthen Realm, Rank One but Karloff is an exception because he was not the real ‘Chen Yun’ making him defying the standard law in this worlds. In each world has a different standard law. Like the world where Karloff came from, that world excels on spiritual energy and not the elemental energy. This is the reason why the people on that world were a genius in innovating the lives through technology but the disadvantage was that they didn't have any access to elemental energy and they didn’t even know that they have strong spiritual energy. In contrast to the world where Karloff was living now was greatly different because although this world did not boost greatly towards the spiritual energy but this world was perfectly balanced, in terms of physical, spiritual, or elemental energy making it applicable for the people who live here to cultivate and control the elemental energy.
In Karloff’s case, because he denies the natural law of this world, his great spiritual energy retains on what he has from his old world when he transcends to this new world making him a tier higher than a normal cultivator, plus, he had read many novels, mangas, and manhua about cultivation helping him boost to some degrees.
Unfortunately, though he knew many martial arts cultivation techniques it didn’t work and he tried it a while ago. Without any way to cultivate those martial techniques he can only cultivate other martial techniques that are working like Cloud Hands Art. In the end, he can only helplessly set aside these nonsensical and unreachable opportunities. It will greatly help him increase his confidence when fighting, while he was new to this world, and have not created on any conflicts. He affirmed that the owner of this ‘body’ has no recent grudge against other petty people inside or outside the city when he scanned the memory fragments.
After for a long time of thinking random thoughts, he continued cultivating and stopped only when his elemental energy was depleted. Breakthrough never comes in just a day; it needed determination and hard work but sometimes rest, while contemplating the changes of the technique. He quietly left the training ground and walked towards his beautiful mother’s courtyard. When he looked up towards the sky, the sun has reached its peak and it was already noon.

Based on the memory fragments he got, his mother usually stays at her courtyard and the ‘he’ would always accompany her mother every noon. Giving her affection and time, ‘Chen Yun’ believed that there will days that he may not have a chance to accompany her anymore because he feels that something going to happen. ‘Chen Yun’ feels like there will be a day when he will leave the mansion, and unfortunately, he had not just left the mansion, he even left the world itself!
When Karloff was thinking about “Chen Yun’s” feeling, he can only helplessly shake his head as he sighs, ‘him’ being unlucky. In order to repay the kindness of the owner of this body, he will assume his real name leaving his old name to the past world.
“Ah! Yun’er you’re here” Chen Mingyue’s pleasant voice echoes when she saw her son coming to her courtyard.
“Mnn” Chen Yun replied as he nodded his head answering his mother’s question.
“Feeling sad my dear?” his mother smilingly said.
“Uh, yes… hehehe… I’m so cheeky to reach the Forming Stage of Cloud Hands Art, even I just reached the Evaporation Stage last night” replied Chen Yun while wryly smiling.
When she heard her son reached the evaporation Stage without meeting the condition of the Earthen Realm. Shock was written across her face but quickly returned to normal; even Chen Yun missed the change of her expression. Acting mysteriously, she said, “Son, you have wise decision to stop your training today, because breaking Stage by Stage consecutively is not the best choice.”
“Why?”
“It’s because though you feel that you grasp the essence of the Second Stage, and can execute it. The power containing in it was rather weak rather than building first your foundation on the first stage before advancing to another height. Let us set an example if a building has no foundation what will happen?”
“Naturally it will collapse.” Chen Yun quickly replied.
“Correct!” replied his mother.
Suddenly the advice of his mother was a clap of thunder on his ears and struck towards his mind! Reaching enlightenment and what he lacks is only the foundation!
Right, Foundation!
Without a proper foundation, naturally, a mishap will occur no matter what you will do, even feeling that you seem to breakthrough towards the other side yet could break past the last hurdle. He suddenly grinned as it was plastered on his handsome face, his clear black eyes were filled with mystery and wonder, the brows as elegant like her mother albeit contrastingly manly. Chen Yun’s grin reveals his clear like jade teeth with the charm that every girl’s ideal man. He didn’t leave right away to continue practicing the Cloud Hands Art because he spent more time with his mother and as a way of thanking her for giving him enlightenment in what part he was lacking. So, he accompanied her mother until afternoon came and proceeded to the training area, continuing the cultivation on Cloud Hands Art.
As per told by his mother, he needs to build first his foundation on the Stage he was in. In this way, he can have an absolute foundation and with through familiarization of the Stage but in what way he can create his absolute foundation was by doing it again and again until he can create the fog quickly like with a flip of his hand.

Whoosh!
Evaporation Stage!
Two indistinct fog where swirling like tornadoes were moving on both of Chen Yun’s hands and it was more quite better than the last attempt of Evaporation Stage. Suddenly, the two whirling tornado-like fog dissipated like a puff of a smoke!
But Chen Yun’s did not mind destroying the two patches of fog because he wants to do it again and again until he can cast it in just a second and as a proof for the absolute foundation. Sometimes, power is not the strongest type strength but speed. If he can cast the techniques than any other cultivators then he will be the winner in the end.
10 times…
20 times…
40 times… 50 times… 60… 100… 200… 500 times!
Click!
A clicking sounded inside his mind as if there’s something has been unlocked but he felt that he has reached the Beginner Level of the Cloud Hands Art, he had not used these techniques against other person but only repeatedly executed the same stage until the clicking sound resonated in his mind indicating he has reached Beginner Level. In each martial technique there three levels of understanding the martial technique and they are the Beginner, Apprentice, and Master Level.
“Phew!”
The pleasant sigh of Chen Yun was released from his mouth. He was so excited and glad that he suddenly reached the beginner level of the Cloud Hands Art just by repeating the same Stage over and over again. Though, he thought that it may be not about how many attempts he had done it, but on how he understands the real essence of that Stage and building the foundation of the martial technique. When he achieved the beginner level, the sky was already dark and the lanterns were hung on the windows of the mansion lighting the dark surrounding.
Without anything to do, he stopped his training and walked inside the mansion touring the interior of the mansion. When he was done touring and familiarizing himself in the mansion he proceeded towards his mother’s courtyard again and talk about trivial stuff and dine together with her before he returned to his room.
Chen Yun who was lying on the bed, thinking about his experience today’s training. For the whole day, he didn’t remember his past world as if he was it was just like forgetting things, but the real reason behind was because there’s no one for him to hold something memorable other than his parents care for him but not much. As he was about to sleep, he suddenly got up and planning to try his luck if he can achieve the second Stage, the Forming Stage of the Cloud Hands Art.
Flick!
With just the flick of his fingers, two swirling tornado-liked fog where moving alongside between his hands. If his mother ever witnesses how he just flicked the Evaporation Stage, she will be shocked because there’s no such thing like just flicking the fingers to quickly cast the first Stage of the Cloud Hands Art or any other martial technique, mostly, it can be finished casting in 1-2 seconds. But Chen Yun just executed it like a blink of an eye and definitely defies the common logic of this world. He was unaware of how defying his way of casting the Evaporation Stage, and even if he knew, he might think that it’s because he trained, again and again, He focused himself much more than before as he followed the instruction on the Forming Stage. The two whirling tornado-liked fogs in between his hand, circling each other as it slowly formed into a sphere. A vague outline was inside the sphere-formed fog but it quickly disappeared. Chen Yun then slowly rotated his hands, revolving from the sphere-shaped fog with a strange rhythm.
As time passed by, he picked up the pace of the revolution of his hands as it gradually got faster and faster.
Shing!
His imagination is still the same like before, he keeps thinking that it will transform into a sword and the result is…
Success!
Breakthrough on Forming Stage!
The spherical fog has turned into a sword with a length 3 foot, pointing its tip to where Chen Yun’s was facing. His eyes were sparkling like stars in the skies that could not deny the fact that he was overwhelmed by his success in achieving Forming Stage very quickly.
Poof!
A frown suddenly appeared on his face. Though he succeeded it greatly drains his elemental energy! He had formed the sword and reached the Forming Stage, the maintenance of the sword-shaped fog really drains his elemental energy as quick like the flick of his finger on Evaporation Stage. It is indeed a Horizon Stage martial technique with the strict requirement. Only those who reached Earthen Level can cultivate this martial technique. Still, he was still glad because he had a breakthrough not just once but twice; achieving Beginner level on Cloud Hands Art and breakthrough towards the Forming Stage of the Cloud Hands Art. Because he lacked elemental energy; he who was sitting, suddenly fell to the bed, collapsed. The exhaustion of elemental energy is the only reason for his collapse, and it was a minor situation. There is no Qi Deviation ever happen when a person gets a breakthrough when all his elemental energy were depleted, only those who were trying to have a breakthrough and was exhausted their elemental energy at the process of their breakthrough. The smile on his face was still painted on his handsome face while his room was dim but his expression tonight can soothe the heartache of a lady and lightens up the darkness of her world. Unfortunately, there’s no one who can admire the picturesque-like scenery of this young man.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.

Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)
