"You said he was dead and now he is alive? What in bloody hell is this ?" The mayor asked in confusement.

"Mayor Cunningham… I can assure you he is alive, I got him with us .." General Ferdunov said as she opened the door of the meeting room.

William walked in with respect. He saluted and stood still, tilting his head slightly with a smile. "Pleased to meet you, Ma'am."

"Bloody hell General, what is this? Is this one of the thingamajig cloning machines…?" Mayor Cunningham asked as she was inspecting the suited lad from afar.

"One of your close contacts will also be coming ma'am… She is the legal mother of this soldier here." General Ferdunov said.

"What would yah think his mother would be, angry or surprise… I'm pretty sure you are going to give her a heart attack, General… Boy, you do know your mother is in her 60s are you trying to kill her…?" Mayor Cunningham asked the both of them.

"No Ma'am, I'm absolutely sure, she will be fine …" William answered.

General Ferdunov stayed quiet.

Outside of the town hall

"Out of my way, excuse me … mind me...Thank you." William's Mother said to nearby bystanders as she pushed her way through the door.

"And there she is…" General Mia said as she points to William's Mother, guiding the Mayor's eyes.

"I have come, what is so important that you have to call in when I'm having a business meeting Miss Ferdunov." William's mother was in her business attire, she was wearing a suit and all. Her hair was a little white at some sides, giving a wise and old look.

General Ferdunov looked at William's Mother. "Well, first try to relax, after that, we can talk…I don't want you having a cardiac arrest. Lieutenant, calm her down…"

"Yes, Ma'am…" Chau-Min walked towards William's Mother and calmed her down by guiding her to a seat and a glass of water.

"Thank you Miss Heungson…" William's Mother sipped the water before exhaling slowly.

"Alright, what is it …?" She looked at General Ferdunov.

Something attracted her eyes as she peered slowly to the right.

William smiled and gave a wave.

"Will? What… William.?" William's Mother asked her sanity.

"Yes mother, I'm here …" William replied with his coarse yet recognisable voice.

"I'm sorry Miss Endicrite.. but, this is no illusion, your son is somehow alive." General Ferdunov replied as she placed her hand on William's shoulder.

"How could this happen ?" William's Mother got up in shock and walk towards him.

William watched his mother walked towards him, she looked back up and down, front and back.

"General and Miss Endicrite if we are going to have a good explanation of this, could we do it without everyone clogging up the room?" Mayor Cunningham asked as she took a seat with her arms closed. She was rather rude.

"Alright, ma'am… you guys out, patrol the hall in case something goes wrong." She ordered Chau-Min and the rest of the chosen soldiers to leave.

The Mayor, William, General Ferdunov, William's Mother and her assistant were the only ones in the room currently.

"William, care to give me an explanation.." His mother suddenly asked him in a very stern and serious matter, as if an order from a Company Manager.

"Well, I can only remember getting shot five years ago. After that, I woke up in some sort of "Heaven" and gone through purification in Hell. I managed to resurrect myself somehow with a contract of both God and the Devil and woke up in Continuum's training centre, flat on mud… that's it" William didn't want to explain in-depth of what really happened.

"So you are saying God is real …?" The mayor asked with a raised eyebrow as she cuffed her hands on the table.

"In a way, Yes …" William answered as he nodded.

"Five years to come back alive again, that's not normal in real life." His mother told everyone.

"But it certainly is possible…Miss Endicrite, there are Guardians and medical procedures which can revive a dead person." General Ferdunov answered his mother.

Somehow, William's Mother knew about Guardians already.

"If you are talking about defibrillation...it had already existed for years, that only happens when a person's heart stopped. This...this, he somehow survived a fatal blow to the head with a gun and somehow healed. Take a look at him, he has no wounds! Well, unless it's that odd scratch on his eye. How did you get that ?" William's Mother wanted to know an answer.

".... A dead person did this to me? Heh~." William made a sarcastic remark.

"That doesn't really answer the matter but alright then…" William's mother shakes her head as she looks at everyone.

"Are we going to sit here all day man? We all have jobs to do." Mayor Cunningham said as she was checking her watch.

"I have to go to a meeting at twenty past four." The mayor answered.

General Ferdunov nodded as she got up.

"I guess the meeting is over and the meeting of William and his mother can be taken elsewhere then." The general said as she walked towards the mayor.

The mayor smirked and gave a handshake to the general before leaving the room. "Hurry up Miss Parkson." She called out her assistant to stop typing on her phone.

"Yes Ma'am…" she said as she shuts her phone off and leaves the room too.

"So, where should we go?" William asked General Ferdunov and his mother.

"Well it is a quarter past four, technically break time for my company so I guess we will have to go to the cafe that is nearby the main building… I'm sure you know what place I'm talking about William." His mother explained.

"Ahhh~ The one next to Gregory's Bakery?" William asked.

"Yes.." She followed her assistant who called out the driver.

The car was parked Infront of the main entrance.

"So, are you going into the car or what?" His mother asked after entering and turning down the window.

"No, I will meet you there. I have to follow the general still." William replied.

"Alright then, let's go." His mother replied before telling her driver. As the care drove, the window was winded up again.

"General? Are you going to the cafe in your uniform too?" William asked.

"Of course not…I will excuse myself to the bathroom, you stay with the others" General Ferdunov smiled before waltzing away.

"Well, pretty good start," William said as he looked at Chau-Min.

"Heh, you sure… for a second I thought your mom will pass out." She snickered.

"She is not that type. She works on a regular basis, her brain is filled with schedules and meetings and numbers, there's no time for her to be weak or relax" William answered back.

"Well, hope she doesn't wear herself off," Chau-Min said as she unholstered her rifle.

"What are you looking at? Private business." Chau-Min told strictly to a passerby who was watching them.

"Ahhh sorry, I was called by a Miss Ferdunov but I only came to stumble here." The unknown lady replied back

"She's busy inside the building, you will have to wait," Chau-Min answered back.

"Who are you anyway?" William asked, willing to know an answer.

"Oh me? I'm Evie Pelson. A friend of hers, she called me out for coffee." She replied.

"I see.." William said as he typed on his phone, sending a text to General Ferdunov.

"My apologies, I'm going to have to snap a picture of you," William said as he pointed his phone camera to her.

"That's alright .." She nods as her picture of her face was taken.

From: Shriway Ferdunov

To: William Endicrite

"Yes, that's her. Wait a minute, I'm still putting on clothes."

***

"Yeah approved, she's General's friend," William told Chau-Min.

"Alright then… Just wait a while miss or sit in your vehicle, it's quite chilly." Chau-Min told the lady named Evie.

"Sure, that's alright. I'm good, I'm used to the cold water." Evie said as she looked at her phone.

"Nothing really much changed even after 5 years…" William said as he shrugged.

"Yeah, people still staring at their phones to this day…" Chau-Min whispered softly with a soft laugh.

"Alright, shall we get going?" A voice sounded from nearby the main entrance.

William and the soldiers turned themselves to the voice's direction.

"What are you guys looking at? Bugger off, go back to the base and take a break out, General's orders." The woman said as she pampered her hair, making it smooth and silky looking.

The soldiers just blatantly agreed and headed off.

"General…?" William asked.

"Yes? What is it Mr Endicrite." She smiled. She was currently wearing a soft white tee and tight blue jeans, it was ripped by the knee part and she wore quite an amount of jewellery, including earrings and bracelets. Though her black eyepatch, still kept a violent look on her.

"You look beautiful, this is the first time seeing you out of your uniform." William complemented his own General, how odd.

"Well thank you boy…" she smiled as she nods towards her friend.

"Come on, Mr Endicrite if that is your name. We will go in my car." Evie said as she rustled her car keys onto the car door to open.

"Alright. Thank you." William answered as he sat on the passenger side.

"By the way, since you are taking a break, General, who is taking care of the base?" William asked.

"The other two will take the position. After all, they are my left and right-hand man." Ferdunov said.

"Ahh da, just call me Miss Ferdunov or just Shriway when we are out in public. It's strange to keep calling me General." She "blinked" with her left eye as she faced towards William as she fixed on her seatbelt.

"Alright, ready?" Evie gears the car and drives towards Basingstoke.

"Where is it again?" Evie asked.

"I will guide you. Take a left in five hundred meters. There will be a street of shops and there will be a striking blue building, next to it is the Café." William gave directions to the driver.

"Alright then, Thank you." She followed the guidance and managed to find the building and a free parking stop.

William's mother's business car was also parked nearby, it was as sleek as ever. A black jeep of some sort with heavy tint on the windows.

The three exited the car and walked towards the café.

"Welcome to Gregory's. How can you girls be helped?" A pretty waitress was waiting by the door next to a stand holding a paper holder.

"By the way, you can only enter by reservation," William whispered to the two. (Let me handle it…)

William stepped forward and replied. "We are here with a Miss Endicrite, she is waiting for us."

"I see, hold on, let me check." She strolled on the list of names.

"Ah~ yes, Miss Hila Endicrite, is that correct?" The waitress asked.

**Note: Hila is the English name for William's Mother. Her Japanese name is Akamatsu Shinse**

William nods.

"Right this way, she had booked a table just for two, there is a free space on her table, so I guess it's for you. If you need to take your orders, call in with the buzzer, alright? All good." The waitress guided the three of them to a corner side table, she was next to one of the tables, technically Infront of them.

"Thank you." Miss Ferdunov said as she took a side beside Miss Evie.

"You managed to come. You still remember your routes, William." His mother smiled as she continued sipping her tea.

Her assistant is also there but she was on another table, fiddling with her phone and laptop.

"Yes, mother…" William replied.

"Come, take a sit with me. Let the general free, she had enough stress for today." His mother said, pointing to the seat in front of her.

William shakes his head and takes a seat.

"Why, thank you Miss Endicrite. We will do our own business now. You relax too for now" Miss Ferdunov said as she started to converse with her friend.

"You are going to have anything William?" His mother asked.

William was watching the surrounding of the cafe. It was rather quiet. People were chatting softly or relaxing, watching the view behind the huge window panes. Some were playing about with their laptops or doing paperwork. The smell of coffee was quite strong and soft sizzling of machines could be heard too.

"Uh-hmm." His mother cleared her throat.

"Oh yeah.." William pressed the buzzer, causing a number to pop into a led screen in the cafe's bar.

Another waitress came to William's call. "Yes Miss, how could I help you?"

"I would like one Café Latte and a Chocolate Brownie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice please," William ordered.

"Alright Miss, the order would come by shortly. See you in a bit." The waitress left the table and headed to the kitchen to give the orders.

"William, could you tell me how you really got the scar and came back to life again. I know it's odd and I miss you but I would like to know more." His mother asked.

"Fine… I got this scar while fighting a demon and I came back to life by impressing god." William sounded delusional, but it was true.

A table next to them felt a little surprised at what he said, as he explained a bit too loud.

"Interesting…well I can believe you now since I known about Guardians quite a while back and they too confirmed that God is real anyway … so, accepted I guess." His mother replied as she ate a slice of her Red Velvet Cake.

"Alright, One Café Latte and a Chocolate Brownie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice. Enjoy." The waitress confirmed the order as she continues her work.

William nods and takes a slice of the brownie. "Still richly tasty as ever…" William savoured the taste.

"Same old recipe from the 90s…" his mother replied back.

After some time of enjoying themselves, William and General Ferdunov got a message. Uh-hmm, Miss Ferdunov.

William and Miss Ferdunov look at each other in surprise after what they read.

"Mother… get down." William said as he caught something with his hands which was thrown from Miss Ferdunov.

"Why?" She still listened to what he said.

"This street is getting robbed by some terrorists. They are looking for us." William said.

"Wait for what? How are you going to fight them? You have no gun or pieces of equipment on."

"I got this crystal to summon my weapons, wait why is there a pink one?" William takes a look.

"That's Shin-ae, Shimaya's other daughter, the younger sister of your original guardian," Ferdunov whispered as she reloaded her handgun secretly in her bag.

"The Gun one...alright," William said as he attached Sae-Yong's bracelet on. The other crystal had a ring attached to it.

There was a sound of commotion from the other side of the window. Few gunshots were heard before the bell of the café buzzed.

The visitor of the café pointed her blade to one of the customer's throat as she neck locked her.

The waitress kept her hand up as she dived down to the floor.

It was an axis soldier. Not just any axis soldier, but a disguised one. She was probably disguised as a robber or something.

The axis soldier pushed the customer she neck locked to the floor as she checked everyone's faces.

"Well, this a waste of a nice evening tea time with my mother," William answered as he gave his attention to the disguised axis soldier by throwing his café latte on her face.

"Rwaghhh~" she screams in pain as she covered her face.

The other disguised ones decided to break in to, heading to the voice's direction.

William summoned out both the weapons. Shin-ae's weapon was rather stylish. It was metallic pink with flowery patterns on it. It was true that it was an odd gun. It had a dual pistol function containing two triggers and two barrels.

"Well [email protected]#£, company…" William said.

The General gestured the other customers to get down quickly.

William grabbed the axis soldier and pointed Shin-ae's gun to her head as the others came in.

"It's one of them…" The Captain of the axis soldier said as she removed her hood and takes out her gun to shoot.

"Oh no, you won't…" Miss Ferdunov said as she shot quickly the Captain's hands and the gun.

In reflex, the pain of getting shot at the palms, caused her to hold the pain.

The other disguised soldiers decided to attack mindlessly.

William smirked and shot the captured teammate of theirs.

He used Sae-Yong's Psionic Blade and rampages towards them.

The five-axis soldiers tried to protect their captain by attacking William head-on.

"Yeah yeah…" William replied as he countered a stab by changing sides and giving the soldier a concussion in the head with one of the gun's barrels. He then gave a shot.

Miss Ferdunov took turns aiming and shooting at the other ones attacking William, they were too dumb to notice another defender.

William stabs one and shot the other before desummoning the weapons and catching hold of the captain whose hands bled profusely due to the adrenaline she injected to herself.

"Should have taken painkillers, missy," William said as he grabs hold of this Axis Soldier's Captain.

"This is not the one who tried to free the hostage five years ago," William said as he takes a peek of the captured.

"It's only one of the captains." Miss Ferdunov said as tries to put cuffs on the captain because she was trying to struggle out even with the wounds.

"Who was the one who sent the message to us?" William asked.

"Oh, it's Evie's guardian. More of a public accepted one, she was strolling around the streets invisible and sensed something wrong." Miss Ferdunov said.

"Sorry, Evie but you wouldn't mind us borrowing your car for a while?" Mis Ferdunov asked as she helped William dragged the captain out.

William pushed the Captain back first towards the car door. He smiled as he watched the struggling captain. Ferdunov was trying to rustle the keys in to unlock it.

"You are a pretty one aren't you…?" William teasingly said to the Captain.

"Why are you seducing the Axis Captain for? She only follows the General's orders. Even if you do something bad to her, she would only think of attacking back." Miss Ferdunov understood his intentions so she really wasn't strict towards him. "Axis soldiers can only feel slight pain, other than that, they kill for bloodlust. Their emotions and feelings are wiped off."

"Alright, I will stop," William smirked as he pushed the Axis Captain in.

"What are you going to do, strip her? Put her probably." Ferdunov said as she attached the cuffs to the ceiling of the car which had a special ring on it for unknown purposes."

The sound of sirens started to become louder from the distance. A police team nearby was dispatched to the scene.

Miss Ferdunov took her belongings and draped on her uniform shirt.

William had no choice but to watch her change.

General Ferdunov shakes her head in disbelief and takes her ID Card.

"Oi, stop this instant." One of the police said as General Ferdunov just pushes herself in.

"What do you mean stop?! I'm the General here. You stop! I was given a message by your Manager." General Ferdunov shouted like a drillmaster.

"General?" The police officer said, finally recognising the uniform she was wearing.

"Oh, stand down! Put your gun down, this is Continuum's business." The elder of the police team told her partner.

The customers and staff were guided out to give their explanation.

One of the police officers came with body bags to help remove the corpses.

"Thank you." General Ferdunov said as she stood outside by the car with William.

William's Mother entered her car. Not allowed to leave the scene yet, she had to stay in her car and do her meetings through her laptop's webcam.

William watched the Axis Captain who was staring at him in disgust and utter hatred. "What's your problem? You want to eat me or something…"

"Stop talking to her, William. Please." General Ferdunov ordered him. "She is like an animal, she will just get angrier the more you annoy her.

Evie was sitting on a bench near the car and the other two.

"So how long till we can go back?" Evie asked.

"Five to ten minutes more, then we can leave," Ferdunov replied. "Sorry to bring you into this Eve, my job is never-ending as always." She apologised.

"Ahh, no bother. I used to work in the police force, I know how it is." Evie said as she relaxed.

(I guess they met when they were still in training.) William talked to himself.

After some time of waiting and then an explanation needed for a police report, William and the others were able to leave.

"I guess, I will see you, next time mother. I have to stay in Continuum to do my job." William told his mother.

"It's alright Will. You are an adult now, you know what to do. Try to save the world and also try not to hurt yourself, alright?" She said.

"Yes, I will try my best." He said as he waved to her as the car drove off.

"Wanna go?" Miss Evie asked.

"Yep, I'm ready," William said as he entered the car, he was accompanied by the handcuffed Axis Captain.

As they drove back to the Military Base, William took a look at the Captain. Rather say, ogling her.

The captain was a little shy somehow. I guess like an animal instinct, it had started to be less vary of William. More like taking a trust, in an odd way.

Back in the base, William was guided back to his room.

Explaining what happened to his echelon, they then took an early nap for tomorrow's training.

The Axis Captain was taken hostage for the time being.
