I would like to apologize in advance. There won't be a chapter this week. This is only a hobby sort of thing and, with more important matters like college taking up my time, I can only spare so much time for it.

This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.
