《The Chronicle of the Ex-God of War Who's Given a Second Chance》Chapter 17.3: The Absolute Sage

Caught red-handed, Ryu started to scratch his hair and sighed, "Damn, I really don't get the sense of why you, a Mage, distribute the majority of his free stats on Perception." Hearing the remark, Laurent begins to giggle, "I think it's for this kind of occasion. You might've not believe how many times I'm saved from being deceived because of my Perception."
"You should've left those matters to Ranger instead of allocating your stats on Perception," advised Ryu as he leans back in his chair.
"Nah, it's annoying if I must bring someone with me every time I need to go into a dialogue." Laurent shook his head toward the idea, "Well, I can't undo my action, it's not that bad anyway."
Despite the fact that it wasn't the supposed stats for a Mage, the Perception stats certainly had helped him a lot, not only in a negotiation but also in the battle and exploration as he was able to easily predict the enemies movement and destroy them using his magic. Thanks to this, he has been known by the city as an Absolute Sage.
"Forget about that, are you feeling content now?" Ryu replied calmly, "There's nothing I could do anymore, what other opinion do I have?"
"There's actually one more thing that I want to discuss with you."
"Was it still relevant to the topic? Feel free to state it."
"I thought it's the time for us to disclose the Class knowledge to the other 13 cities." Ryu unconsciously perked up his ears when the sentence entered his brain as his expression became very solemn, "Laurent, I'll do whatever is required to stop you from doing that."
"But isn't this the perfect opportunity to do so? Additionally, we now got Druid papers on our hand." Laurent pressed, staring earnestly toward his right-hand man.

"Man, don't you think you're being too hasty right now?" Ryu quickly added, "Do you forgot the superiority complex our Fire city's lord has?"
The current lord character really has posed trouble for them. One of the association goals was to spread the Class data. But, this purpose was especially tough to achieve as the lord -to keep the superiority of his city- has released a regulation that ordered his subject to conceal the fact that they know the exact way to become a Brute or other future discovered Class.
To prevent information leak, he even put a strict observation toward the body that was tasked for the study of the Class (Laurant association included). When this regulation was violated, he wouldn't hesitate to verdict a death sentence to his subject.
"The lord has started to place his trust on us a bit, it's simply not the right time to rebel against him. For this, we need to be a little more patient." persuaded Ryu before he continued, "If you're still resolute in doing that, then you also must be prepared to lose about 80% of our manpower."
"Sorry, you're right, I'm getting too hot-headed there," acknowledged Laurent as he took his cigarette from the ashtray. Thinking carefully, if he committed the act, he and his 3rd-tiered companion might've survived, but the 2nd-tiered one and the rest individual who's under his wing will definitely get massacred.
"I know how frustrating this could be. Just when the world is in the brief of destruction, this selfish bastard instead decided to keep a secret the critical knowledge that can save humanity only to satisfy his ego."
Standing up, Ryu spoke another word, "But, we're still weak compared to the whole city, so for now, we could only swallow our spits."

"Yeah..." Blowing out a smoke, Laurent steals a glance toward Ryu that already gives his back to him, "Where are you going?"
"Gonna gets 3 months worth of love from Aya."
"Are you sure your wife could keep up with your vigorous deed?" teased Laurent. In response, Ryu began to chuckle, "You know what? I constantly got conquered by her when the night hits, maybe tonight I could win against her." Giving his reply, Ryu then went out of the room, leaving his leader perplexed in his office.

"Hey, what's wrong, hon? Why the long face?" queried Ayano as she placed down his favorite black coffee on the table. Took a sip from it, Ryu then grumbled while messaging his temples, "Just like the usual, our leader has made another absurd decision."
Taking a seat beside Ryu, Ayano tucks her orange hair behind her ear, "Are you sure it wasn't your personal sentiment?"
"It's not... Probably..." After that, Ryu explained the summary of the discussion to her wife, from the beginning until the end. He specifically touched the topic of split exploration.
"Why not? It's an excellent judgment in my view," opined Ayano with her hand on its chin. "Is it? We're gonna get separated for a whole 3 months! What if something unpleasant happened to you!? I bet some scoundrel will also regularly hit on you at the street." Ryu rapidly fired sentence by sentence without giving a chance for his wife to comment on it.
"Geez, you've always been such a worrywart." Bringing her face close to Ryu's, she soon kissed his cheek softly, "It's only for a short amount of period, I'll manage myself just fine."
Seemingly get convinced by it, Ryu begins to tilt his body to face in Ayano's direction. "It's not enough, I want more than just a kiss on the cheek," demanded Ryu as he smoothly embraced her waist. In response, Ayano began to smile before encircling Ryu's neck with her slender arm. "Really, how could I refuse when you stared at me passionately like that."
With a blush on their face, they soon gently pressed their lips against each other repeatedly before advancing for a deeper one. The kiss was continued for a while until Ayano began to separate her lips from Ryu. When she's doing so, there's a bridge of saliva formed between their mouth, which later it broke away.
"It tasted like a coffee." chuckled Ayano.
"Of course, didn't I just drank it earlier."
Looked at each other lovingly, they eventually resumed showering each other with their affection using their lips. "Should we continue this on our bed?" whispered Ayano seductively. "Alright, don't regret it later."
Accepting the offer, Ryu proceeded to lift Ayano with a princess carry before moving into their room to execute the night activity, or maybe afternoon activity. And on that day, Ryu finally prevails upon Ayano.

I lied it's even less than a short story more like a collection of disparate situations. Also you can read this completely out of order. There is no connection between the chapters. Read any that interest you.

Psyche Reflection
In the universe, Year 20XX, there exists people who are able to enter the cognitive realms of others and alter their perceptions and emotions, for better or worse. These people are known as "Divers" for their ability to dive into the psyche of others in a process called the "Psyche Dive". The cognitive realm is unique to each individual, hence it's also named the "Reflected World". There, one's innermost emotions and beliefs are materialised when the balance between the id (source of psychodynamic energy, represented by our desires and individuality.) and the superego (represented by our conscience and need to conform to society) is disrupted, with the id overpowering the superego more often than not.As a result, the excess psychodynamic energy on either side results in the formation of Spectres, ghost-like beings that haunt the ego (an individual's personality) and push a person to ruin by clouding his perceptions of reality, influencing his decision making in the process. If left unchecked, Spectres would continue to grow in number and power, eventually consuming the ego completely to form Demons within the person's psyche. At this point, it is extremely difficult to restore a person's id to its original state, as Demons are often extremely powerful and well-protected by their army of Spectres. People who are possessed by Demons are often twisted individuals who commit the most heinous of crimes, as they have lost all of their conscience and morals, fuelled only by their desires. The Divers are the last hope for humanity against the Spectres and Demons. Armed with the power to use their cognition to fashion into effective weapons against these abominations, the Divers seek to cleanse the minds of victims from such insidious influences. 21 year old Lee Jin Kai became a Diver abruptly on his first day as a University student, after a chance meeting with a beautiful foreign exchange student by the name of Aiko Verde. Despite having different motivations, the pair must now stick together, as they traverse the psyches of various people while gathering comrades, resolving real-world issues in the process...
