《The Chronicle of the Ex-God of War Who's Given a Second Chance》Chapter 15: Idiotic Party (part 1)

"Did it come from that side!?" Ryu tilts his head into his right. Based on the high pitched voice, the other party was probably a woman. "Is she the one who's also going solo like me? I need to hurry then!"
Ryu immediately rushed into the origin of the noise, as the same soloist, he felt the obligation to help this woman who's shouting for aid. He moved in a lighting pace, swiftly passing and dodging the monster who's blocking his way.
"Damn, as I thought!" Arrived at the location, he saw the 6-feet monster being accompanied by a pair of the hateful creature. There's also a two young man trapped in the wall because of the green Worm silk. If he let the situation to proceed any longer, the party surely will get annihilated by the Treant's fist.
"Should I set the Worms as my primary target?" Ryu's in a turmoil of choices, he wants to free the party as soon as possible. But, if he does that as his priority, he will lose the opportunity to land an ambush toward the enemy.
"Yeah, let's do that! They're unconscious anyway, there's simply no benefit if I tried to free them first."
"But, first and foremost..." Ryu sighed out a breath of anxiety. He needed to make a bet if he wants the best outcome from this situation. Ryu began to pour his mana to the tip of the dagger before charging up into his objective. It's not a Worm nor the silk, but the Treant!
From his current position, he got a chance to use a Violet Crash. It's simply not worthy of his stamina and mana if he were to aim for the Worm first using this technique. That's why he marked the Treant as his initial target.
"Let's use the Quick-Steps as well!" The momentum Ryu had has further increased, within a second, he arrived before the Treant and thrust powerfully into its chest.

"Next!" Didn't even have any leisure to checks the result, Ryu used the Treant body as a footing and kicked it forcefully. The impacts of kicking the wooden creature enable his body to pounce into one of the Worms. Not wanting the momentum to lose its way, Ryu starts to spins his body to intensify the power behind his attacks.
When the blade stroke the Worm horizontally, it gave an eerie scream before its body slowly lays flat on the ground.
While gasping for breath, Ryu's intuition suddenly makes his body moves to the side instinctively. Just as he finished this motion, a white thread successfully passed through his eyes, sticking itself into the wall. This makes Ryu's mouth twitched a little. "That was a close call..."
Stanced himself once more, Ryu changed his grip into a reversed one. He bends his body, preparing to assault the last monster standing. The moment his prey spits out its weapon, Ryu instantly dives in the direction of the Worm while dodging its thread. Appearing before the creature, Ryu begins to smirks a little, "What a simple bug, Critical Strike!"
Confirming that the last Worm has died, Ryu finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Now what's left is to freed those gu-!?"
Doesn't get a chance to finish his sentence, Ryu suddenly felt an immense amount of force crashing into his back, making his body to smack the wall with a loud 'bang' sound.
"W-what the fuck, it's still alive?" Twisting his body, Ryu can see the Treant slowly retracting its long arm. Its core was already exposed, but the blow from earlier seems aren't sufficient to bring a crack toward the round thing.
"Fuck, please move!!!" The shock from the hits from before caused his body to cracked all over the place. Ryu bits his lips in desperate attempts to move his paralyzed body, but still, it does not avail. At the same time, the Treant's also began to raise its arm for the second time.

"As if I let my second chance to go away like this!"
Ryu's plainly only capable of uttering a cursing word one by another. He wanted to take out his potion from its pouch, but his body doesn't even allow him to move an inch.
"Is this my fate? Did I started to getting ahead of myself?"
Ryu gradually closes its eyes, he simply knows that there's nothing he can do in his current condition. If he was a level higher, maybe the result would be different. However, the impact that he already waits doesn't come even after some seconds have passed.
Confused, Ryu hesitatingly opened his eyes. To his surprise, the Treant that's supposed to be standing vigorously already rotten up in black color. "Did the creature just get slain?" Ryu forcefully moves its head to looks into his surrounding. From quite afar, he can see that a girl wielding a bow comes into his way.
"I'm sorry, are you okay?" The girl with a short ash-grey hair extended out her arm toward him. In response, Ryu was surprised when he heard her voice. "Aren't you the one who's asking for help?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry for my incapabilities to back you up faster." The girls answered while sheepishly rubbing her cheek. "By the way, how long you're planning to left my hand hanging like this?"
"Look at my state, even moving my head like this was a task..."
"I see..." Taking out a potion from her storage ring, she proceeds to open up the bottle. Somehow, there's also a touch of red color in her cheeks. "Umm, then, I'll pour it myself, please say 'Aahh.'"
"I'm sorry to trouble you then." Ryu doesn't have any other choices except to accept the goodwill. Although it's really awkward, he can only swallow those feeling down.
When the liquid starts to enter his throat, he can feel that the broken bone begins to slowly fix itself. While his fatigue was still drained a lot, at least he's capable of moving right now.
"Thanks for the help, I'm Takazaki Ryu. What's your name?"
"Mina, Mina Doughlet." The way she introduces herself reminds Ryu of a soldier in training.
"Well, back to the topic, how come you're not in here when you're the one who's shouting for help."
Seeing the troubled expressions from Ryu makes Mina began to fidget her fingers around.
"It's quite embarrassing to say it, but I simply run like a rabbit."
"I still don't get it, didn't you already successfully doing that, so what's the point of yelling for an aid?"
"I'm hoping that someone else can save my brother's life."
"Brother?" Listening to the unexpected reply, Ryu furrowed his brows. Before long, Mina suddenly points her finger at a certain point, when Ryu finished following through the direction of it, he subconsciously opened his eyes wide. "Those two were your brother!? You're not soloing this Dungeon?"
"Who's crazy enough to solo a Dungeo-"
Mina's sentence came into a halt when she noticed that the boy was coming alone. Simultaneously, Ryu anticipation to see a fellow soloist seems to shatter like glass as the disappointment has clearly portrayed on his face.
"Wait, wait, timeout!!!" Ryu draws a 'T' shape using his hands.
"A 3-man party can't handle the Treant and Worm combi!?"

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author.
