《The Chronicle of the Ex-God of War Who's Given a Second Chance》Chapter 14: Best Friend (part 3)

It's on the past Friday, Ryu finally able to set his foot on the next floor.
"To think it took me this long to reach the fourth floor..."
Although it's actually understandable that his exploration progress slowed because of the training routine, Ryu was still not satisfied with the result.
"Well, it's useless to think about those things." Decided to be content with it, Ryu continued his way to explore the Dungeon.
"... Hmm, why I can't find any enemies here?"
He already walked up for 15 minutes and still couldn't see any trace of the monster. Grabbing his hair with its hand, Ryu begins to put a troubled expression. "Was someone also hunting on this spot?"
"But it's a low-leveled one, who would hunt on this floor if they've set up a party?"
"Wait, there's a chance that it's an individual like me too..."
"If that was true, I'm curious to see that person."
Sure about his deduction, Ryu's face slowly turned into a smirk, excited to see a man who's also decided to go solo like him. Before long, he quickly changed his hunting spot, after all, there's a big chance that he needed to wait for the monster to respawn if he stayed at the place.
"Ohh, the weaklings start to band together now." Arrived at a different location of the floor, Ryu finally encountered his prey. Although this time, they had begun to group together. The one he meets was a green Worm followed by two ladybugs flying nearby his side.
"Seriously, what benefit did you guys get from following that spiky and troublesome creature?" Ryu gives a prolonged gaze toward the pair, which they've responded in silence. "Somehow, I really want the ability to have a talk with their kind..."

Giving up on the idea to strike a conversation with a bug for the second time. Ryu then grabs the holder that's attached to his waist, pulling the dagger within it. "I can't afford to waste my time anymore, blame your fate for meeting me."
Ryu swiftly charges at the group, and of course, his primary target is the Worm that's being guarded by the ladybugs. After all, it will be an annoying fight if he saves that bug for his dessert. "Lucky you, it will be a quick death."
Just as when the group noticed Ryu's presence, he instantly used Quick-Steps to increase his speed before proceeding to land a blow on the Worm using Fatal Strike, combined with his momentum from the steps, the bug directly meets its ends. "I'm capable of one hitting them now!"
Ryu was amazed by the result. Usually, he needs to use 2-3 Quick-Slash to slain the creature. Although he can already instakill them using the Violet Crash, it took too much of his mana, so it's not that worthful.
"That's what you call improvement!!!" Shouting excitedly, Ryu causes the ladybugs to wake up from their bewildered state. Having their boss killed in a second like that makes them flinch in fear instinctively.
"Now what's left is the pushover one."
The pair flops their wings to retreat from the man before them, who's right now flowing out an absurd amount of killing intent directed toward them. "What a familiar scene, I already get used to that act of yours."
Moving very fast from one spot to another, Ryu blocks their way and swiftly executes both of them using the Quick-Slash.
"Huft, that was easy..." Wiping off his sweat from its forehead, Ryu took off the horn and wings from the creature before storing it at his storage ring.

"That reminds me, I still have the ring that's used to store those magazines."
"Let's give it to Narukami the next time I met him, it's wasteful to throw it anyway."
After that, Ryu keeps meeting the bug combis for a straight one hour. This makes his faces becomes more and more flat overtime. "Is there any other type than that sort of group out here?"
"Oh, there's another corner here." While talking with a monotone voice, Ryu turns leisurely to the left according to the will of the Dungeon wall. To his surprise, when his line of sight changed into another straight path. There's also a pair of green worm 5-feet away from his position greeting him with the usual sticky stuff.
"WHAT THE FUCK!?" Caught off guard, he intuitively dodges and hides into the corner of the wall with his back against it. "Are they capable of ambushing already!?"
Not giving Ryu changes to prepare himself, the pair immediately gives a chase, following him into the corner of the wall while maintaining the splurting that comes from their mouth.
"Damn it! I can't charge at them without any plan."
Ryu keeps moving from side to side. If he were to stops even for a second, there's a big chance that the thread would stick into his body. That one hit will surely hinder his movements and become a total disaster later. That's why he can't afford to commit any mistake now. "At this rate, I'm just entrapped on the situation..."
"I had no other choices, it's all or nothing!" Swallowing his saliva, Ryu puts an extreme focus toward the pair. Because of this, the silk projectile appeared to streaked three times slower in his eyes.
"Don't even think that you'll survive this one!" Using the Quick-Steps, Ryu let one of the Worms joined its kind on the afterlife with his Fatal Strike. Didn't even want a second to go away, Ryu then kicks the wall, instantly closing his distance with the other Worm.
"Critical Strike!!!" Ryu channels quite a lot of his mana to the tip of his dagger before performing the usual Fatal Strike. Thanks to this, even without the momentum from the Quick-Steps, he's still able to take down the Worm in one blow.
"Thank God, it's working..." Panting for breath, Ryu falls out from the focused state. Although it's really an overpowered ability, performed an offense with it really took a tool from his body. In a mere five seconds, the fatigue he felt was like from an hour-long fight...
***
"Well, in the first place, that's happened because I'm too laid-back in there."
Ryu leaked out a mouthful breath before he grabs the scabbard, getting ready for a hunt. "Next time I should be more careful when moving around the corner, those guys may ambush me again."
Right now, because the pair didn't notice him yet, Ryu could kill them using the same method without the need for a focused state. When he's about to place his weapon back to its place, suddenly, a loud shout has pierced through his ear.

Sequel to the sort of liked Re:Hammer. Set in 40k universe, and generally on course. Personal changes are detailed in the Prologue because it's quite a bit. It's not really ended nor is it an attrocity like End Times, but I've got a few things to change. To note: Druchii arc (If this means nothing to you, go read Re:Hammer first) has been learned from and will be avoided. This is not to say there won't be any sex, but we will certainly try to keep it less crazy. Feedback is, as always, appreciated and worked with.
