《Lord of the Red Castle》Chapter 23

"We're finally going to find out what this surprise was?" said Elizabeth, when she saw Doran walking through the door.
In the room, Elizabeth, Ashe, and Eve were sitting around Ashley.
The bride was supposed to dress for the ceremony, but they couldn't because Doran wanted to prepare the dress for the ceremony himself.
Elizabeth was most surprised by this situation. She didn't remember Doran being interested in design before—except for the odd mana-machines he occasionally designed.
Doran smiled as he entered the room.
"I think I've left the ladies wondering enough," he said and smiled.
“C'mon son, I'm going to die of curiosity,” Elizabeth said.
“Okay okay,” he said, then he lifted the black fabric surrounding the outfit.
As the fabric disappeared, the dress underneath met curious eyes. It was an all-white dress, the were elegant and beautiful with tulle instead of regular fabric.
Doran looked up from the dress to see their reaction and studied the ladies' reactions.
The beauty of the dress fascinated these 4 women. They had never seen such an elegant and beautiful dress before.
“I didn't know you were this good at clothing design,” Ashley said.
“Me too, I wish I could wear a dress like this when I get married,” said Elizabeth.
"Mom why don't you remarry, I'll design you a new one."
"Haha, come on, I'm old now, and today is not about me, it's about you, Ashley, let's see how it looks on you."
Ashley nodded and bent down to pick up the outfit.
"OK, I'm going"
“Ohh where? Why, aren't you curious about how Ashley looks in the dress?"
"Haha, it's bad luck to see the bride in a dress before the ceremony."
Doran left the room, leaving behind the 4 women who were giving him chuckled looks.

He also had to be prepared.
He walked quickly through the corridors of the castle. Every servant in the castle was going somewhere with hasty steps. Preparations for the wedding were progressing rapidly. In this chaos, most of the servants hadn't even seen Doran walking by and didn't even greet him.
Doran came to the room reserved for the groom's preparation, opened the door, and entered.
Inside, Alex, the only friend he had made in this world, was sitting on the sofa, eating the newly harvested grapes. he stood up as Doran entered the room.
"Where have you been my friend, I was worried about you"
“You didn't look worried at all, but you ate grapes on the sofa as if you were at home.”
After Doran's words, there was a chuckle. It was Marry,
Alex continued to speak without hesitation.
"Come on man, you know I'm responsible for you, I was pretty worried I was almost starting to think you were kidnapped or something."
Doran was so used to his friend's shameless lies that he shook his head and turned to Marry.
“Marry, are my clothes ready?”
“Ready, sir,” he said, pointing to the locker.
“Okay, Mary, you can wait outside.”
Mary bowed and left the room.
Doran quickly put on the clothes.
He changed his shoes, straightened his clothes, and turned to Alex.
"How do I look?"
"Like the groom!" said Alex, smiling.
"Thanks mate, you've been very helpful."
"Oh come on, you look good. Let's go to the main hall."
The two left the room. And they began to walk along the corridor of the castle. Just behind them, Mary followed.
When they entered the main hall, Doran saw her father talking to the Servants. And he went towards her.

"Are you finally able to come?" said Albert.
"Don't worry, Dad, no guests have come yet."
Albert turned his gaze to Alex, who was standing next to his son.
"Will your father be able to make it to the wedding, alex?
"Your Majesty, the news I have heard that he may have already passed the walls of Ivarta."
"Good good." said Albert.
"Doran, it's your job to welcome the guests. I want you to meet everyone who attended the wedding. Many of them will be elected as members of parliament."
Doran nodded at his father's words.
Time passed quickly and the guests slowly began to enter the main hall of the castle. Doran, on the other hand, greets them at the door and makes small talk and takes them to the main hall.
These people were either the owner of a trading company in vartica, or people who fought in the war, or they were people who had an important role in the inclusion of vartica.
Although Doran knew many of these people, it was his first time seeing family members and their children. Because of this, he had to kindly ask about the situation and learn a few things about them.
When all the guests arrived and it was time for the wedding ceremony, the door of the main hall was closed and the ceremony began.
In this world, weddings were usually held by a noble, and the only noble present in the Vartica kingdom was his Father, King Albert.
So Doran went before his father's throne and began to wait. The wait didn't last long because one of the main hall's side doors opened and Ashley walked in, dressed in a white wedding dress. Right next to Ashley were Elizabeth and Ashe. Eve followed behind them.
All sounds in the main hall were muted. Everyone was locked into Ashley and the dress she was wearing. She was as beautiful as an angel fallen from heaven.
Ashley walked slowly to Doran's side.
Doran was stunned by Ashley's beauty, but managed to pull himself together. When the bride and groom came together, they returned to the throne and knelt before it.
King Albert rose from the throne and spoke.
"Doran and Ashley, we are here today to bind you with the bond of marriage. This bond is one of the most important steps to a good life, that's why I'm asking, Do you want to marry each other?."
Doran and Ashley answered at the same time
"YES"
"Then I, as the first king of the Vartica, see this and declare you husband and wife."
King Albert's words echoed in the main hall, followed by a loud round of applause.
Doran took Asley's hand and they stood together. They were finally married.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
