After a while passed Adam asked the question which was in the minds of everyone there:
"But what is this thing, it is heading toward us at such a speed and none of us was able to feel it at all, just what is it?"
No one was able to answer his question at all, and they actually didn't even have the time to as the fog was almost next to them.
"Let me see if my ability can stop it from passing." when the gray fog become that close Lana said that while activating her ability making a big barrier over all the camp of Area 02.
But unfortunately nothing happened, the fog acted as if nothing was there and it passed through it without facing any problems at all, it gave Lana quite a surprise.
Seeing that Lana's ability didn't work the next one to try his ability was Carlos as his ability almost worked on everything from people abilities in Area 02 to the machines of Area 01, but unfortunately that time his ability let him down as he wasn't able to affect the fog at all.
What happened to him was just like what happened to Lana, the fog didn't have any reaction at all, it just kept on going.
And at that moment it passed over the seven Gods, covering them and the camp of the troops from Area 02.
Area 01: the headquarter of the big four alliance:
"What happened, do we have any idea what this Gary fog is?" Moore asked Ronald who was the last one to enter the room.
The other two looked at him awaiting an answer; the Gray Fog was something which they hadn't noticed till it appeared, giving them quite a scare as they didn't know if it was from the people from Area 02 or anything about it.
The people in Area 01 were living their lives normally when suddenly out of nowhere the Gray Fog appeared covering everything turning the sky to a gray color and making them in a stat of panic as they didn't know what was happening.
It wasn't till they noticed that there was nothing wrong happening to them that they calmed down and started demanding answers from the alliance wanting to know what was happening.
Unfortunately no one in the alliance understood what was happening, they too were confused, but still they tried to calm the citizens so they released news saying that there was nothing wrong with the Gray Fog, and that their laboratories weren't able to find any side effects of it, and they asked them to await further instructions.
And there they were, the four heads of the alliance in a meeting to study what the Gray Fog was, and see if any new clues about it appeared.
"Is it related to Area 02?" Tom didn't wait for Ronald to answer Moore's question instead he asked another one which he thought of as more important.
"First no it isn't related to Area 02, at least that's what some clues showed us." Ronald said.

The others all set in their seats waiting from him to finish his words after knowing that the worst possibility wasn't the case.
"And second as I said this Gray Fog wasn't because of Area 02, as they too are suffering from it, actually not just them, every Area in New Earth is suffering from the Gray Fog, the whole New Earth is just a gray ball right now." Ronald dropped another important piece of information.
As he finished his words a hologram of the new earth appeared hovering above the table.
"This is something taken by the satellites from the outer space it shows the appearance of New Earth right now." Ronald explained as he pointed at the hologram.
Just as Ronald said the hologram showed the appearance of New Earth at that moment and it was covered in a pale gray color, with no other color at all.
"But where did this gray fog come from, and how could it cover the whole new earth without us noticing it?" Travis said with a frown on his face.
His question was something that the other two were thinking about too, as they couldn't believe that the Gray Fog would have been able to appear out of thin air without alarming them, but unfortunately that was true as even at that moment the sensors and readers in Area 01 weren't able to feel it.
"It really appeared all over the whole earth at the same time, and it covered it without showing any sign, no one was able to feel it, but fortunately we studied some of the footage of different Areas in New Earth, around the time of the appearance of the Gray Fog and we found something." Ronald first sighed as he shook his head before starting to explain about what they found and noticed in a spirited voice:
"What we noticed was that the Gray Fog didn't didn't only have one source, instead it had 24 different sources."
"Do you mean that each Area have its own Gray Fog?" Moore asked after hearing Ronald's words.
"Exactly, for each Area that we know about there is a specific mass of Gray Fog covering the whole said Area." Ronald nodded.
"But there are 25 Areas..." Tom murmured to himself as he heard that but then he seemed as if he remembered something as he shouted:
"Wait, don't you think that this Gray Fog seems familiar?"
All the others looked at him in astonishment, they didn't know what he meant, not even Ronald who was leading the meeting.
"It is Area 25. Area 25 always have fog around it and whatever enters it would be lost be it drones ships warships submarines, anything, don't you remember it was given a danger index as high as Area 02 because we didn't understand anything about it, and just look at the Gray Fog, it really resembles the fog from Area 25 as the fog in Area 25 is also not a clear normal white fog, but closer to the color of this Gray Fog." Tom said and the more he talked the more energetic he become, till in the end he stood up.

He was actually quite a fan of anything mysterious, that's why when Ronald asked them about the Bermuda triangle he talked about the myth and superstitious about it, and because of that Area 25 caught his interest since the first time he heard about it from Ronald, because it was the most mysterious Area in the whole New Earth.
"Now that you mention it they do look alike..." Ronald said after a moment of silence and consideration because what Tom said was really interesting.
"We can follow that train of thoughts later for now Ronald can you tell us about the sources of the Gray Fog in those twenty four Areas, you said that each Area in New Earth got covered by its own Gray Fog, then where did the one that is covering our Area come from?" Moore asked.
"Oh... Yeah, you see we were able to see that the Gray Fog appeared from a place that we were already keeping an eye on in our Area." Ronald said.
"Do you mean..." as if thinking of something Moore showed a surprised expression on his face.
"Yes it is the Bermuda triangle, the fog appeared from that place, for not just our Area but for all the Areas which we were keeping an eye on, in each of those Areas the Gray Fog appeared from the same location as the approximate location of the Bermuda triangle in our Area." Ronald said.
"The Bermuda triangle... There were some weird things happening in it since the combination of the multiverse but who would have thought that it would even exist in other Areas as well, and it was even the reason of such a big mess." Travis said.
"Yes I too was surprised when I saw it for the first time, I mean the disappearances around that Area became more frequent and we even had to mark it as a danger zone, and stopped all ships and flights going through that path, but who would have known that this would happen and that we would be hit by it so soon." Roland said.
"But there's actually nothing wrong happening right, I mean except the Gray Fog covering everything and the signals being a little bit worst then before, everything is good, the Gray Fog has no effect oi humans or animals it isn't poisonous so actually except it being a little bit mysterious the Gray Fog isn't bad, right?" Tom asked a question that has been in his mind since the appearance of the Gray Fog.
"It is just as you said, we didn't find anything bad about the Gray Fog, even with our experiments we only knew that it isn't poisonous nor does it affect any living organism at all, so yeah except it being a little bit mysterious it has no bad affect at all, but ever since it appeared..." at first Ronald smiled and explained who the fog wasn't dangerous at all, but in the end of his words a troubled expression appeared on his face.
Seeing that troubled expression the others didn't say anything as they understood that he would continue his words, and as expected soon enough Ronald said while taping his fingers on the table:
"...Ever since the Gray Fog appeared we started having a lot of calls from different places from all over the Area that some people went missing."
"It is normal after all the Gray Fog is quite strong thick, and with the confusion and fear people would start searching for their families and loved ones to make sure that they are safe, and with the fog making the signal worst it is only normal that some would become afraid and report them as missing individuals, so don't worry about all of that." Tom said while waving his hand, the others also nodded their heads to his words as they though that in this kind of situations reports about missing people and the likes would be more frequent.
"Yeah I also thought so but for some reason I'm getting this feeling that it's not just that... Anyway let's leave that aside, there's also another thing that I have to tell you about."
Hearing the seriousness in the last part of his words all the people there waited for what he wanted to say in a solemn way as they understood from his tone that it was an important thing:
"You see we lost contact with a small military base in south America, it is base number 42 it only have around a thousand soldiers a few outdated tanks and warships, there's nothing significant about it at all, there are a lot of small military bases like it in our Area, but for some reason ten minutes or so after the Gray Fog appeared we lost contact with it." Ronald said while releasing a heavy sigh.
"What do you mean we lost contact with it, did the line break or is it because of the messed up signal after the fog?" Moore asked, he was the one with the closest link with the military and he couldn't believe that he was just hearing about it at that moment, so he asked a bunch of questions wanting to know more about it and understand what happened.
"It is none of what you said, instead something weirder happened, it almost seems as if even though the message has passed no one is in the other side to answer it, we don't know if they met something bad or if all of them are died." Ronald shook his head denying all what Moore suggested.

Tim the Engineer
Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.
