Dan left the axe and the sword there when he left for lunch, which made Thomas show concern about wither or not they were safe, but after Dan assuring him that nothing bad would happen to them he finally decided to trust him and followed him to have lunch.

Dan didn't assure him that nothing was going to happen because he trusted everyone in the team, instead it was because ever since they told everyone in Barbarossa about the dragon's corps and how the hold became off limit, the hold had been under the watch of Nero, his sense of smell was strong enough to detect everyone's movement in the ship even when he was asleep.

So there really was no need to be afraid that someone would go after those weapons, and that was also the reason why Dan hide the containers with dragons blood on the hold without putting any guards or anything look that on the door.

So after entering the hold Dan opened the cases holding the two weapons and showed them to Randy and Nero.

"They are quite good." Nero said after lifting and waving the swords around for a few seconds.

Randy on the other hand didn't know if they were good or not as cold weapons were almost nonexistent in he's area's army, but he was still able to feel that those two weren't normal.

"Ok, let's get started." Dan said.

Then he moved toward the stomach of the dragon and by reopening one of the wounds and pushing the sword through it, he made a cut that split its stomach in half, and as he did that its intestines fall down to the floor.

"You had to start with that." Nero complained as he saw that.

Dan didn't care to talk about that instead he said:

"Come and help me pull all of this out."

Nero looked at Randy who sighed and murmured:

"Now I'm sure that Leonard must have felt that this was going to happened so he just decided to not come."

Then they both sighted before moving forward to help him.

The intestines of a dragon were big and hard to move, fortunately because the dragon hadn't ate for a while there was nothing in them making their work much easier, the quality of the weapons used for the job were also a big help.

After taking out its huge lungs heart and other organs they were left with only the empty body.

"This thing's heart is quite huge!" Randy said as he looked at the heart which was almost as big as him.

"Yeah it's gigantic just as the body of its owner." Dan said as he also moved toward the heart and touched it.

He just wanted to feel the heart, but as he put his hand in it he felt that something wasn't right, as there was something bulging on the heart, it didn't seem normal and when he pushed his hand down trying to feel it, he felt as if there was something hard inside it.

Getting interested he got the sword which Thomas gave him and hit the heart trying to cut it into two.

He did that while staying away from the place where the hard object was as he didn't want to damage it, whatever it was.

"What are you doing" Nero asked as he also got closer to the heart waiting to see what was happening.

"There's something inside it." Dan said.

Right then he finished cutting it, he did a horizontal cut, so by pushing the upper part away he was only left with the part that had the hard object inside it.

Dan then carefully started cutting around where that hard object was, he started doing that by cutting layer after layer of heart muscles till finally he saw what that object was.

It was a Crystal, Dan didn't stop cutting after seeing that instead he started acting even more careful as he cut the rest of the muscles around it showing how big it really was.

The Crystal was big; it was actually a head sized Crystal.

"Should we lift it?" Randy asked.

There did seem to be anything wrong with the Crystal but they weren't sure, so of course none of them tried lifting or moving it.

"Don't know... Say Dan, can't you remember if something like this is supposed to be inside the heart of a dragon?" Nero first shook his head before asking Dan.

"I don't think that something like this is supposed to exist, I remember how there was some records about dragons that I read which mentioned that in the beginning of the war against the dragons humans were able to kill some dragons, and I'm pretty sure that those records didn't say anything about something like this." Dan said.

"So... Are we just going to let it there?" Randy asked.

"What I can tell you is that there is no smell on the Crystal... Except the smell of blood and thing like that I mean, it has no smell of poison or any similar substances, so it's probably good." Nero said.

"Let's deal with the rest of the dragon and leave it here for now." Dan said, there was no meaning in standing there while looking at a Crystal without doing anything.

"Ok, there still seem to be something deep inside the dragon let's clean it from everything first before doing anything else." Randy said.

Nodding their heads Nero and Dan moved toward the dragon to do as Randy said.

They first made a big enough opening for someone to go through it before looking at each other; they all understood the meaning of that look, who would enter?

"Ok, rock paper scissors it is." Dan said.

The other two nodded their heads, it seemed that no matter what world it was they all understood the meaning of rock paper scissors.

In the end Nero lost, so with a miserable look on his face he entered the half empty stomach of the dragon, it didn't take long before Dan and Randy heard the surprised shout of Nero, when they heard that they looked at each other wandering what he found, a few seconds later they heard him say:

"You won't believe this, hurry come in."

"Are you seriously going to use such a cheap trick in order to make us enter?" Randy said mockingly.

"No I'm serious, this is unbelievable... Wait just give me the sword I'll bring it out myself." Nero tried to make them believe that he wasn't joking but understanding that they won't believe him he decided to bring what he found to them.

Randy and Dan's expressions turned serious they understood that Nero really found something weird inside the dragon and that he wasn't joking, so Dan pushed the sword toward him.

After a while passed Nero finally left from that opening while holding something in his hands, when they saw it Randy and Dan were shocked expressions... It was an egg, a huge egg to be specific.

The egg was big, at least fifty cm long, and it seemed as if it's shell was made of something else and not calcium carbonate which is what normal eggs are made of, it almost seemed as if it was made of skin or leather.

"Didn't you say that male dragons would fight before the great migration for the right to mate with females, and that except of those fight no fights are allowed between dragons, so can you tell me why is there an egg inside this dragon which is supposed to be a male?" Nero asked.

"I don't know I mean that was just what I remembered, who knows, it could be wrong." Dan answered.

He really didn't know, the records that he had in his memories said that male dragons would fight for the right to mate with the females, and even without those records that was what people think about when they see two animals fighting each year at the same time.

"Wait... Actually in all the memories of the books and records about dragons that I have in my mind, all the dragons that were caught or killed were females, there's no records of a male dragon being killed, at first I thought that it's just because male dragons were harder to kill or that I simply didn't read about books that mentioned male dragons, but it seems that I was wrong." Dan said in realization.

"So what does this mean? does it mean that there are no male dragons?" Nero asked.

"No, that can't be there must be an explanation its just that we don't know it." Dan shook his head while answering his question.

"How many eggs are in there?" Randy asked Nero who was still holding the egg in his hands.

"Don't know probably ten or so." Nero said.

"Dan do you think that we can have little dragons if those eggs hatched." Randy turned his head to Dan and asked after hearing the number that Nero mentioned.

"I don't know, but I know how to find out" Dan said.

Then he moved toward Nero took the egg from him and threw it to the floor using some of his strength, breaking it.

"What did you just do?" Nero asked in shock.

"Look there's no sign of an embryo, I think that even for a dragon an embryo would have appeared already." Dan said while pointing at the crashed egg on the floor.

Randy and Nero looked at what he was pointing at and they saw that just as he said there really was no embryo or anything indicating the existence of a fertilized egg.

"So what does this mean, are dragons like chicken they just keep on laying eggs?" Nero asked after he understood that.

"I don't know but probably a dragon's egg isn't fertilized in the common way, I mean just look at the shell it isn't normal it had a weird texture." Dan said.

"So what are we going to do with them?"

"Make an omelet from a dragon's egg." Randy answered Nero's question instead of Dan.

Both Dan and Nero looked at Randy not knowing what to say.

"What? Don't tell me that you aren't interested in knowing how it would taste?" Seeing their expression Randy said that.

"Ahmm... We will talk about that later, let's first finish our work here before deciding how to deal with them and the Crystal too." Dan cleared his throat before changing the subject, actually what Randy said did catch his interest.

They then returned to doing their work, they first removed the eggs and everything that was still inside the dragon's stomach, one hour later they were finally done.

They then stood around the half of the heart with the Crystal on it looking at the Crystal silently:

"It's just a Crystal what can go wrong?" Finally Dan said that as he moved his hand and lifted the Crystal.

When he held it in his hand he felt its cold surface between his hands and how surprisingly light it was, he almost didn't feel anything if not for the cold touch between his hand he wouldn't even notice it.

"How does it feel?" Nero asked from the side.

"It's cold and surprisingly light." Dan answered.

"Let me see." Randy said, and without even waiting for his response he extended his hand and took the Crystal from him.

He then showed a surprised expression as he held it in his hand, he finally understood what Dan really meant with light and cold, after holding it for a while he passed it to Nero who was also wandering how it really felt.

Nero the returned it to Dan, who after getting it looked at them and asked:

"So any idea what this could be?"

"No idea, it's not like anything I've ever seen before" Nero said while Randy also shook his head it was their first time seeing something as unusual as that Crystal.
