《A Journey Through the Worlds.》034: It's Healing

"So you have finally awakened, that's great." Dan said while smiling, he also got up and hugged him.
It actually took them a while to know that it was Leonard, as he wasn't wearing his casual clothes from his earth, but a different outfit which was more like the outfits the people in the dragon's world wore.
"Leonard did your ability awake?"
Katherine asked with a smile.
"Yes I just got it under control." Leonard said, it was apparent from his voice that he was quite happy.
He was setting there in his room concentrating and trying to feel the power in his body, suddenly as if a barrier exploded, he felt something rush out of his body, it was then that his ability awakened, and because of his concentrating and doing his best trying to feel it, as it happened he was able to feel it easily.
His eyes were closed then, so he didn't notice what happened around him, but when he opened his eyes he was surprised to see that not only was the iron tub he was inside melted, even the ground below and above him was cracked and showed signs of melting, without him feeling anything.
Looking around him absentmindedly he saw that everything inside the room was burned.
So he hurriedly called for a guard and asked him for something to wear, the guard was surprised after he saw Leonard moving in the base while wearing his underwear only, so he hurriedly left to find something for him.
After he wore cloths, Leonard asked the guard about the whereabouts of Dan and the others, hearing that they were having dinner Leonard decided to go and surprise them, and that's how he made it there.
"But they really look good on you, those cloths I mean." Katherine said after they heard how he got them.
"You think so too?" Leonard said while turning for side to side for them to see him clearly, then added:
"You all should ask for a change of clothes too, we have been here since a while now and we have been through a lot, you should change your cloths."
Dan nodded his head, they were still wearing what they were wearing when they made it to that Area and they had to change, so he said:
"Yeah we should do that, I will ask old Frank to get someone to send us some clean change of clothes."
Then he showed a serious expression on his face as he said:
"The Great Migration can happen anytime now, and you all know it, as it had been four days since dragons started fighting, which means that the great migration will happen in the next five days starting tomorrow, so... Are we still going to hunt the injured dragon or not, this will be the last time we take about it."
"We already talked about it before and all of us are in, no need to worry, we won't change our minds easily." Nero said.

The others all nodded their heads, they were going to do it no matter what.
"Ok so it's decided then, we will kill that dragon, but what are we going to do after that, what I mean is that dragon is big, way too big and heavy actually, even if we were able to kill it, we will waste a lot of time when we try moving it on ourselves, so I was thinking what if we let it move to a closer place? To lure it to a location that is closer to the ships." Dan said.
"We should do that, as you said the dragon is way too big and we don't really have a lot of time." Randy said.
"It isn't really that hard if we try doing it, this job can be given to me alongside, Katherine or Leonard, one of those two will be using long ranged attacks, while I will be their way to escape from the dragon when it comes closer, after doing that for a while we will lure it to a place where all of you will be waiting, this way we can even get an ambush or a trap ready." Robin said.
"I also thought that the job of luring the dragon can only be done by you, actually we won't even need another person, neither Leonard nor Katherine, you can use the soul weapon, I'll just make you its new owner, this way you won't waste a lot of your power teleporting while taking another person with you, and the dragon won't be on guard against neither Leonard nor Katherine, giving us another trump card to use against it." Dan said his plan.
He thought about that when he was in the hold of Barbarossa, and asked for that forty meters space to be empty, he thought about how big the dragon was and how long it was going to take them to move it after a tiring fight with it, and he found that the best thing would be if they lured it closer.
"We should also get some guards to bring some empty water containers to put the dragon blood in them, after all we can't let even a single drop go to waste." Nero said, for him dragons blood was a treasure that he couldn't resist.
"We will let old Frank deal with all of that later, now Leonard can you tell me how your ability is? Can you release it outside your body, I think that the slow awakening of your ability gave you an advantage over Katherine in term of control, if I guessed right, then you have a way better control over your ability, even now while you had just awakened it, I think that you can already let your flame leave your body." Dan asked.
"I don't know, I didn't try it yet." Leonard said while scratching his head.
"You can try it here." Dan aid while taking two steps back, and then added:

"As this will be your first time trying it, you won't be able to control the power, and I don't really want you to do that, all what you need to do now is to try making your flame leave your body and to let it hit let's see... That chair there, that's all."
Leonard nodded his head and looked at the chair which was around three or four meters away before looking at his right hand, then he took a big breath closed his eyes and started concentrating.
He tried at first feeling the power flowing through his body, before trying to control it, he found it a little bit hard, but after trying a few more time he was finally able to make it flow the way he wanted, he drove it to his hand, and pointed the later at the chair before letting the power leave it, and then he opened his eyes just in the right moment to see what happened.
What he saw when he opened his eyes was a column of fire leaving his hand and hitting that chair, it didn't even take a half a second for that chair to turned to ash, he hurriedly tried to stop the flame that was leaving his hand but it wasn't easy.
After all since the beginning he didn't really want to release that much flame, he only wanted to release a small flame, but as soon as that small piece left his body as if a dam was destroyed, the rest kept on getting out too, and he had to do his past and try to stop it, but there was no use, as the more he tried the more and faster the power inside his body started flowing.
Seeing his struggling expression and seeing the flame that kept leaving his hand and how it was growing and becoming bigger and thicker, and how even the wall had signs of melting, Dan said in a calm composed voice:
"Calm down, don't be nervous it is in your body, it's a part of you, just calm down and don't worry, just think of it as a flood you only need to put something in its way to stop it."
Dan's calm voice was able to calm him down so he did his best to control the raging power inside his body, he imagined something ahead of it as if something was blocking it and that it won't be able to pass no matter how hard it tried, soon after the flame leaving his hand get smaller and smaller, till it stopped in the end.
With sweat on his forehead Leonard looked at Dan and said:
"Thanks."
"Well, there's really no need to thanks me, as I was the reason this happened in the first place, I should have known that no matter how good your control can be over it, you had just awakened your ability so of course you won't be able to control it well." Dan said while smiling apologetically, and then he added:
"From now onward whenever this happens to you remember, you power is a part of you, but you can only feel it you don't have direct control over it, it's not like your arms or legs, so use your imagination when you try to use it, like imagine it passing through a pipe so you can control how much passes by it, just like that, just use your imagination."
"Ok I will remember that." Leonard said.
"You too should keep that in your mind." Dan turned his head to Katherine after Leonard finished talking.
She nodded her head.
"Leaving that aside, your ability is strong, so don't worry, from now onward you have a way to protect yourself from whatever we might find ourselves in." Dan said seriously to Leonard.
After that they talked for a while more before each of them returned to his room to sleep, Leonard found old Frank and asked him for another room, when old Frank asked for the reason he wanted to change it, he answered him by saying that it caught on fire, leaving him speechless, but he still found him a room to sleep in.
After he saw Leonard enter to the room which he got him, old Frank got interested and decided to go and take a look at the room which Leonard used to be in.
He made it there soon as it wasn't far away from his new one, old Frank opened the door and took one step to the room, but he stopped and couldn't take another one for a while, the room could be described with one word, burned, it was black and nothing in it was in a good shape, even the ground was cracked in places and melted in others.
Old Frank didn't know what to think after he saw how the room was, he entered it and took a look at everything inside it before leaving with many questions, after he left the room he looked at the direction of Leonard's new room before murmuring to himself:
"Just what happened there..?" with that question on his mind old Frank left to his room to sleep.
The next morning they all woke up and had breakfast together as usual.
After they finished their brakes and as they were chatting together old Frank entered and said:
"Barry said that the dragon is still in its place, but the wounds on it seem as if they are healing, the healing process seems slow but it's happening for sure." Every morning and evening old Frank would go to see how Barry was doing, and to see if there were any new changes with the dragon, and that day when he met Barry he told him that the dragons wound were healing.

8 192The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
