《Reincarnated Hero Kills The Summoner》Chapter 9 – Princess Charlotte’s Past

Princess Charlotte came and sat by the bed along with Glaze, he said "There was something i wanted to ask you princess." said he looking into her eyes.
"What is it ?" she asked , looking a bit surprised.
"Ever since I came here , I have seen people looking at you wierdly, at first I thought it was respect but it felt more like disdain and disrespect. Today while we were testing my powers. There was this one woman who was looking at you with pure venom and undisguised disdain. I was surprised at such a reaction when you the Crown Princess and a Level 29 Expert just a step away from becoming a Master."
She looked reluctant at first but after while sighed and said" Its because my mother was a commoner. Before my mother, no one in the royal family married outside the noble houses , it was a long standing tradition that the ruler should take a wife or husband from one of the noble families. My father, broke that tradition and married my mother Veronica who was a commoner." she said with difficulty.
"I am sorry, you don't have to continue if you don't want to." said he, taking her hands into mine.
"No, its alright. Even though I have only met you today, I feel like I can trust you. My mother was killed by a noble family when I was 3. My father found out and in his rage destroyed the entire noble family and killed everyone involved. But after that he didn't do anything to change the longstanding opinion of the nobles that the royalty should marry the nobles only. So they started to target me, ofcourse they didn't dare to do anything physical after seeing my father's wrath but continued to make my life miserable." she continued with her hands squeezing his hands harder.

"My father, after mother's death became very cold. He was only focused on increasing his own powers and the kingdom's. He stopped looking after me and didn't do anything to those nobles for the sake of maintaing peace in the Kingdom." she said, with a bit of hatred in her eyes.
"That girl you were talking about was Karen Aquilia , she is one of the strongest members of the Aquilia Family, one of the most powerful noble families in Everheart. Since we were kids she would always mess with me, and disrespect me and bully me. I hated her so much I worked hard to become strong. Once I was stronger than her , she decreased her antics but remained disrespectful and disdainful anyway. She would call me and my late mother hatefu- "
He stopped her their,"You don't have to continue , I get it. ", said he putting his arms around her. She wasnt crying but there was something in her throat, the pent up feelings of frustration.
"Why didn't you do anything after you became stronger? For the sake of maintaining peace ?" I asked.
"Yes, I just didn't want a civil war to erupt, after all shouldn't peace be the priority? Father wouldn't want me to-"
"That piece of shit father who left her daugher alone and didn't care for her after her mother died ? When she needed him the most ? Why do you listen or care about someone like that" said Glaze with a bit of anger.
She looked surprised, then smiled "Ara, do you care that much about me when you have just met me ?"
"Every time those people looked at you the way they did , it made me angry. You may be fine with it , your highness. But I am not. I think they should pay for what they have done." said he standing up.

"You are right. I should do something about it rather than just sitting and accepting it." she agreed.
"Don't worry too much Princess, you have me now. " said he taking her hands into his and pulling her up.
"Do you not feel the same way as those people? You are the esteemed hero and I am just a Commoner." she asked with a sad look in her eyes as he looked into mine.
"No, you are the most beautiful thing I have laid eyes on since I came here. You are not just a Commoner. You are the Crown Princess Charlotte" said he with a determined look.
She smiled , not a mischevious smile or a devious smile or a teasing smile. That was an unrestrained smile that come from her true feelings, from feeling liberated, from finally finding someone who accepts her for who she is.
She was just supposed to be someone Glaze would manipulate , turn her against her father to take over the Kingdom. Just a tool. The reason she liked him was Hero's Charm or so he thought. But for some reason , that night when he looked at her in the starry night , at that smile , his heart skipped a beat.

I was Reborn as the Villainess but I will become a Great Sage
Nova Allandis, formerly known as Suna Lee, remembers her previous life and realizes her current life is as the villainess in a fantasy novel she once read. However, as Suna, she was the laziest person with no motivation, possibly attributed to the fact that she didn't go into a major that was her strongest suit. Now that she has a high affinity towards magic and wishes to go into it, will she be able to change her lazy self for the better, or will she go back to being lazy like the villainess in the novel? Can she become a Great Sage and live life happily this time? Note: This is not a "revenge of the villainess" novel, but rather a "rise to fame" novel. A/N: This is just an experimental novel and criticisms are much appreciated, but I'm extremely defensive of my own work and characters. If you are here to put down a novel, please remember, first of all, you are not paying anything to read this, and second of all, authors are humans too.

Hello, it’s me, Aether. As a beholder, curiosity is the driving force of my existence, which is why when I found a new world close to mine, I just had to tear a passage through spacetime to explore it.
