《Reincarnated Hero Kills The Summoner》Chapter 4 – Onee-san wants to be praised?

After somehow getting out of that dangerous situation, Princess Charlotte finally left me alone. I went over to the mirror to take a look at my appearance.
I had a good looking face, nothing that would make a man gay but not something that would make a cow run away from me. I had slightly long hair till my neck, completely pitch black except for a few streaks of shiny purple hair here and there that completely stood out.
The robe I was wearing was white with long collars with golden engravings on the edges, long full sleeves and went down till below my knees. The pants were plain black but were quite tight and flexible. The shoes I was wearing were black with golden highlights and the golden highlights had some engravings on them.
System, what do these engravings do?
*ting*
---
The engravings on the collar of your robe increase your magical defense and serve as a shield to any incoming magical attacks.
The engravings on your shoes increase your evasiveness and speed by 10%.
---
I went over to the glass table and took a look at the various potions. I lifted a potion that had blue glowing liquid in it.
System, what is this potion like thing?
*This is a potion of mana, drinking this would recover your mana by 100 points*
Mana? But I don't see my mana in my stats?
*You have yet to use any magic which is why it is not unlocked, many functions in this system will remain unlocked unless you discover them or complete a specific task to unlock them*
What's with these restrictions O God of Destruction, I guess I'll just have to live with this system.
Do I have an inventory or something?
*Yes, you can access the inventory with your thoughts and place all your items there with no limit. The Mages of this world also use Storage magic so you don't have to worry about trying to hide it.*
Now, that's convenient.
The Princess asked me to come to the armory after I had rested for a bit to choose a weapon, I am also itching to try using magic for the first time, as much as I want to try it right away, after what happened in the throne room I probably should be a bit more careful with my skills and magic, they are lot stronger than I assumed them to be, don't wanna accidentally destroy the palace or something and have an army at my neck.

I wore the ring that the Princess gave me that acted as my ID as Lord Lockhart. It was a black ring with burning red engravings on it.
I steeled myself having to deal with the scary onee-san and walked towards the armory, the guards bowed slightly and moved aside.
As I checked their stats I realized their levels are quite low, Level 6 and Level 7 respectively. I imagined myself to be weak at Level 10 but so far I have only seen 5 people stronger than me. Everyone else who works in the palace is less than Level 10.
I have some idea about the power scaling and Levels but I should ask the Princess about it to get a better idea.
The busty princess was sitting on a nearby wooden table with her long white legs crossed over each other and her heels dangling in the air, she slowly got up and smiled when she saw me coming.
Her huge breasts bounced with every step she took and I just hoped she wouldn't crush me like a bear, like last time.
"Fufu, Lord Glaze, you look quite handsome in your robes, they suit you very well," she said tilting her head slightly with that same smile she had when saw me naked.
As all the hair on my body stood up straight, I replied " Your highness has a good taste when it comes to these things, I am grateful for having these engraved clothes, these should help me out a lot in getting started"
"Ara ara, you don't have to be so formal and stiff all the time, Lord Glaze. We have a good number of weapons here, why don't you take a look and see what type of weapon suits you, you can take a few swings here, this room is made of a very strong material and has a magical barrier surrounding it so don't worry about damaging anything."
"As you are at Novice level, you can only wield the full power of weapons at the Novice level, and half power of an Expert class weapon," she said spreading her hands towards all the weapons in the racks.
It was indeed an impressive collection, and it turns out I can only use the full power of the weapons at the same stage as me, and half of that of weapon that is a stage above mine.
*ting*
*Yes, you can only use half power of a weapon 1 stage above you and 1/4th the power of a weapon 2 stages above you and so on*

So that's how it works.
As I was taking a look at the various weapons I asked the princess "Can you explain to me a bit about the levels? I have some idea of how the power scaling is by checking the stats of the people I have come across since I was summoned but I would like to know about it in a bit more detail."
"Ara, you should be quite confused with how the levels and stages work, you probably have some idea about the progression of novice, expert, and master. Level 0 are normal people who can't use magic or skills. Level 1 - 10 are Apprentices, they are the guards that you see in the palace and most mercenaries and guild adventurers. Level 11-20 are novice, they hold the more important positions in society and have a lot more power than Apprentices. "
"The difference between every level is huge, someone just a level above you is a lot stronger than you are, of course, it doesn't mean they can totally suppress you, you can still beat them it's just gonna be very difficult."
"Above Novice are Experts between Level 21-30, they are a lot stronger than Novice and have very high positions in society and have a lot of say in all matters. They are the true strength of any kingdom and are treated with the utmost respect, or at least should be," she said, looking a bit sad ending that sentence.
"How hard is it to level up ?" I asked curiously. Not everyone has the level drain skill that I have and I have no idea how it works and what restrictions does it have yet, though I can assume it should be very difficult to level up.
"It is very difficult to level up." she said, shrugging off her sadness, " I am at Level 29 and it took me 20 years to get here, I have been training since I was kid and you could consider me a prodigy," she said with a bit of pride and a smile on a her face that was asking me to praise her.
Wait, 20 years? isn't that too much, and she is considered a prodigy? Doesn't that mean leveling up is extremely hard?. That probably explains why there are not a lot of high leveled people here.
"That is quite impressive, you are so strong at such a young age. I wish I would become as strong as you soon" I said looking at her.
She brightened up and put an arm around me. Ah shit, that was a terrible idea.
"Ara ara, calling me Young, are you trying to flirt with this onee-san, my hero. It took me 20 years but you are the Hero, blessed by the gods, I think you will catch up quite quickly. I have heard stories of heroes being summoned in the past, all of them had very fast growth and were incredibly strong. I have no doubt you would be able to do the same." she said very close to my ear.
"So..have you decided on a weapon?" she asked me curiously.
I walked over to a pitch-black looking blade, this thing caught my eye the second I walked in here and I had already made up my mind.
I picked it up and tried to swing it around a bit.
*ting*
---
This is a Novice Class blade, Nightwing Blade.
This blade has engravings that give it a chance to temporarily make an enemy blind filling his eyes with darkness with every strike.
---
"Eh, this seems like the perfect weapon for someone like you Lord Glaze," said Princess Charlotte walking towards me. "This is called the Nightwing Blade, its a Novice Class blade so you should be able to wield its full power. As expected you like swords, would you save this princess when she is in trouble like a knight with his sword?" she said with her hands covering her face showing just her eyes.
What with that fantasy? You are a Level 29 Expert prodigy, who do you even need to be saved from?
"Uh, of course, your highness. Though I think I would be the one who will be saved instead" I said with a laugh.
"Fufu, let's go and test your new blade and your magic, you should be itching to use it since you were summoned," she said and put her arm around my arm and dragged me out of the armory.
"Uh, where are we going princess ?" I asked.
"Its time to go kill some monsters, my dear hero," she said with a scary smile.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
