《Memories of the Gluttonous Sage》Mini Drama: Cain's Dilemma

"Masteeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr~" Dresil yells, leaping out of a spatial portal and swings around Cain's neck. Damn... He didn't even move a micrometer.... Dresil pouts slightly while rubbing her face against Cain's. Cain slides his hand up Dresil's arm, slightly leaning his head back against hers.
"You know you don't need to call me that anymore, my love." Cain replies in a soft voice. Dresil swings Cain's neck once more, landing on his lap, obstructing his view of tens of different screens projected by mana.
"I know~~ It's just habit at this point." She runs her fingers through Cain's hair, pressing her forehead against his. "Are you still preparing your memories for The Viewer? Don't forget to take some breaks." Dresil attempts to peek at the many screens laid out, but Cain quickly covers her eyes.
"Yes, and sorry my love. We shouldn't be talking about it, let alone anyone but me should know about it. This dimension can barely keep the gods' eyes away. Even then I wouldn't trust it completely.
"After all, they'd extinguish my soul and try their best to erase my very existence if they found out what we're doing. Even though the gods are immortal, that's only valid as long as their existence and soul isn't erased, this lets me bypass both restrictions; true immortality."
Cain strokes Dresil's hair in a soothing pattern and pace while speaking, attempting to ease her curiosity. There are many gods who can read minds, and although Cain's firewall (which is installed on everyone close to him) can block most of them, he made it a habit of never believing something is 100% foolproof.
"Why are you doing it as a novel and comic and not just one?" Dresil asks him, resting her head on his chest. Cain lifts his chin on top of her head and ponders for a moment. "Some details are better expressed in a novel than a comic and vice versa. Either way it'll help The Viewer sift through the memories since it'll be his first time. He can just speed read it after all."

Cain pauses for a moment to thinks some things over. Although the novel is kind of eh right now... Hopefully it'll get better. Either way, it'll improve the quality of the comic, so there's that. Dresil notices Cain's mood and attempts to pull him out of it before his overthinking spirals out of control.
"Have you gotten to your lecture spree yet?" Dresil lifts her head and inquires with a playful smirk on her face. Cain's face cringes at her words, remembering that very weird feeling of wanting to lecture anything and everything. It got so bad he even lectured a pigeon once.
He lets out a deep sigh, his mental state causing the screens to flicker for a millisecond. "Not yet, my dear." Dresil lets out a hum of acknowledgement then pecks his cheek. "Ver is cooking dinner tonight, it'll be ready in a half hour. Don't forget this time!"
She gets up from Cain's lap, walking a few meters away. Just before she was going to activate the spatial portal to leave, she remembered something. "Oh, here are the memories of Veronica, Neverwinter, Ver's party, and some other people in your territory."
She flings a small mithril cube engraved with hundreds of magic circles at Cain. He catches it then goes back to work. "Remember, half an hour." Dresil states in a stern tone, remaining unmoving from her spot, seemingly waiting for something.
"Yes, my dear. Here's the timer." Cain creates a new screen and sets a timer for 27 minutes on it then tosses it to Dresil. She nods her head in satisfaction then tosses it back to Cain, who makes it hover on his right.
Dresil then opens a spatial portal and leaves Cain to do his work. Upon her exit, thousands of magic circles engraved throughout the walls of the isolated dimension lit up. Some flicker, some are destroyed. Cain looks up at the sight and sighs.
"Looks like I'll be late for dinner... again..."
