《Memories of the Gluttonous Sage》Day 4 (13)

Sig-gwon lets out a deep sigh once he spots his subordinate successfully depositing the aphrodisiac into the beers heading for Cain's table. Or so it seems… After completing his task, the subordinate orders some beers from the bar and quickly brings them over to his boss.
Since their table is closer to the bar than the distance from the failed operation and Cain's table by a few meters, thus the subordinate delivers the beer before the waitress arrives at Cain's table. The subordinate walks up to the table belonging to his party, carrying three beers.
He greets his boss by lowering his head and proceeds to give Sig-gwon his beer. The subordinate then distributes the other two beers to the members that requested them shortly before Sig-gwon woke. Cain deposited the drop of aphrodisiac during this moment.
"Thanks Billy." Sig-gwon gruffly mumbles before gulping down half of the jug in one go.
It's Richard… but Billy works too, I guess… The subordinate thinks to himself while suppressing a sniffle. Instead he just nods his head and laments his position within his party. To them, he will always be the greenest member, and most likely always the errand boy.
That's not to say he is harshly treated in any way. No, they treat him like a little brother that needs to be protected. Although he doesn't get many chances to fight, he runs most of the errands, and handles the basic necessities of the group. Richard has never once complained about his treatment during his time with them.
He knows that with his elements and abilities there won't be many chances to improve, let alone fight. Thus, he is content with being useful in whatever way he can be. After briefly reminiscing on his journey, Richard sits up and addresses his group, who is currently feasting on some food ordered beforehand.
"How much are we getting paid for this job? The monthly payment on our party's debts is coming up soon." Richard's question almost froze every member in their tracks.
"I'd be surprised if we actually got paid… that damn young master threatened us to do this…" One member chips in.
"Who knows, if we get this job done right we might get paid a decent sum…" another member joins after emptying his jug.
"Hey, don't jinx it! Besides… when's that aphrodisiac supposed to kick in?"
"Who knows… maybe in a minute, max? Anyways, is no one going to question the food fight that's happening way over there?" One of the members gestured towards the ongoing food fight happening roughly 7 tables from them, and drawing closer second by second.
"Huh? That? It's just a typical Wednesday for them. Woah, boss. You okay?" Richard replies, directing his gaze towards his boss at the end.
Sig-gwon abruptly stands up, looking over everyone gathered at his table like a piece of meat. "Huh? Boss...? Since when did such beautiful women join our party?" He questions Richard; who in Sig-gwon's eyes, is an unparalleled beauty thanks to Cain.

—Group Chat: Cain, Dresil, Bob, and Rex— (42ms)
Cain: It's starting.
Rex: Hell yeah. Finally some entertainment to distract myself from these textbooks.
Cain: C'mon, it wasn't that bad…
Rex: ...you try learning thermodynamics in a few hours.
Cain: ...how do you think I studied for my finals?
Dresil: And the Master got the highest grade in his class!
Bob: Congrats? Why are you bragging about it though instead of Cain?
Rex: ...that's just not fair :emoji_white_flag: Besides why isn't anyone else doing anything. I feel like I'm the only one working here...
Cain: 'Tis life. Don't focus on the entire subject, you just need to learn chapters 1 through 4, if that. Chapters 1 and 2 should be enough to understand what to do.
Cain: Dresil has been handling various tasks for me while Bob has been doing stuff occasionally… Actually, Bob, can you create a dimension that will be used as a hallway for Rex later?
Cain: The only thing that can travel through the exit and entrance portals is Rex. No radiation, no gravity, no heat, etc. Separate portals will be used later to tunnel mana so make sure you get some good experience doing this. My memories should contain everything you need, let me know if you have any questions.
Bob: It shall be done, although it will take a while to complete. :emoji_glare at Rex:
Cain: No worries, just get it done before or when Rex finishes his task.
Rex: Just what are you going to make me do…? My instincts tell me more work will be assigned :emoji_ded:
Cain: Maybe, maybe not… Don't slack off on your tasks though.
Rex: I will finish my studies… after the show
Rex: ...and some memes.
--------------------------
Sig-gwon looks around the table, his eyes widened slightly in shock. "Since when did my party get replaced by such beautiful ladies?" He turns his head back towards Richard, "Come here little one, what do you say we have some fun?"
"Oi, oi, oi… What's going on with our boss…?"
"Man… I don't know, either way we need to do something about it before things get out of hand."
Some members immediately shuffle towards their boss, reluctant to do something in case this was some sort of prank. Most of them finish their meals without a care in the world for what's going on around them.
Sig-gwon pushes Richard down, forcing him to the ground. Two other group members quickly rush over to them, attempting to pry Sig-gwon off from Richard.
"B-boss? Wh-what are you doing?" Richard struggles desperately, but every movement has no effect due to the difference in physical strength between the two.
"Now, now, young lady. Let's have a good time alright?" Sig-gwon says, his face turning slightly red. A pair of hands grab each of Sig-gwon's shoulders and force him back.
Sig-gwon glances at the group members who are holding him back, "Don't worry beauties, you'll get your turn soon enough." After relishing the thought, he looks back towards Richard who is struggling to escape from the cramped space between the table and chairs.

"The hell is wrong with our boss… We can barely-" Sig-gwon breaks free for a split second before another group member joins in to hold him down.
"Our boss is at least a circle above all of us, we can barely keep him pinned down. Oi! What are you lads doing eating there peacefully, come help pin him down! We need to-" The sole group member on Sig-gwon's left side barks furiously at the others still at the table.
Before he could continue, a flying potato hits him in the head and instantly knocks him out. It appears the food fight has reached Sig-gwon's table. The surrounding adventurers who are participating in the food fight stop cold in their tracks, staring at the unconscious body.
Sig-gwon is now struggling to free his right side. Several group members help Richard escape the confines of the scattered chairs and tables.
"Who the hell threw Miss Finch's potato! I thought we banned those!"
"Not just in our occasional food fights, pretty sure they're a banned weapon of war too."
"Damn… So that's where that potato went. Could've swore it was right next to me earlier. I was planning on using it to knock out a cute D-rank monster for a pet."
"Pfft, I wouldn't be surprised if you could knock out a C-rank monster with her potatoes… Those little shits are harder than--- Oh shit…"
Before the adventurer could finish his sentence he noticed Sig-gwon, freed from his group members, staring at the adventurers who participated in the food fight. He eyes each and every one of them, licking his lips in anticipation.
He finally breaks the silence with, "Since when did our guild have so many beauties? How about you come and play with me tonight?"
The adventurers stare back in horror. Most of the females have already stealthily left to the sidelines or the guild in general once the food fight started. Their movements seemed almost routine to Cain, who was observing everything using his Mana Zone. Thus there was no question that the "beauties" Sig-gwon was referring to were those who participated in the food fight.
Although Cain's Mana Zone didn't cover where the food fight started, it covered roughly 5 tables out from where Cain was sitting, which was fairly close to the entrance to the guild.
Since the spirit summoning room was closed for repairs, the area around the entrance to it was filled with more benches and tables, leaving a small amount of room to look through quests on the first floor. This was the typical setup during the night, the only difference is that some extra tables will stay until the spirit summoning room is completely repaired.
Sig-gwon stares at the adventurers who participated in the food fight, waiting for a response, positive or negative. Although many of them are covered in food scraps, some even sliding off the adventurer's armor or stuck in their hair, all Sig-gwon sees is a group of unrivaled, dazzling, and alluring goddess-like women. Clearly, Cain went all out in the illusion.
After a moment of silence, one of them spoke up. "You guys know what to do right?" The adventurer glances behind him towards the group. As one of the closest people to Sig-gwon, he felt the need to speak up. Not to lead the group, but to save his own skin.
"Yep."
"Without a doubt"
Several adventurers from the crowd answered swiftly. The others gathered any food they could find on the side.
"Load them up boys!" The adventurer at the front spoke in a demanding voice, further amplified by Cain's mana, who thought it was amusing to do so.
The adventurers promptly loaded food into wooden slings, their hands, and some even used their spirit weapons; who were expressing their dissatisfaction towards their respective contractors. They quickly quieted the weapons down with some promises or just ignored them.
"In positioooonn!!" The same adventurer, dubbed Foo Fighter 1 by Cain, yelled; once again amplified by Cain's mana. This time there was slightly extra bass.
At this command, the adventurers in the front instantly went prone while the others behind them kneeled down. Those in the very back jumped on various tables and benches to get a clear sight of Sig-gwon.
Sig-gwon had yet to make his move. After all, all of their actions so far have just exposed more "women" to his eyes, thus he was glad to let them carry on.
Foo Fighter 1 looked back, examining his troops, now dubbed as The Foo Fighters by Cain. Foo Fighter 1 was pleased to see everyone ready to take down this exceedingly horny adventurer. He glares back at Sig-gwon just in time to notice him walking forward due to impatience. In a moment of panic he yells…
"Fireeeeeeee!!!"
This time Cain amplified the battle cry with mana and increased the bass by a lot. The battle cry thunders throughout the guild, shaking some loose cups slightly. The adventurers roar while using various means to fling random food at Sig-gwon.
A few minutes pass by with nonstop flying food. After a little while, Cain gets bored of the display and causes Sig-gwon to faint. He falls on the floor, covered in various dishes, not one centimeter has been spared.
The Foo Fighters let out war cries in their moment of victory.
"Oooh-RAH!" Foo Fighter 1 cries out, raising a steak, still impaled by a fork, in the air.
"OOOH-RAAAHHH!!" The others join in, their combined voices rivaling that of the battle cry that was amplified by Cain earlier. Each of them raised whatever food they still had, causing some to land on the ceiling.
"What the hell happened here?" A disgruntled voice echoes throughout the guild from behind Cain's table, silencing everyone in an instant.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
