Chapter 87: A War to End
Amphere Harrison
My day offs are over, and now I’ve been summoned by General Holster back to the S.S. Liberty. When Airi and I entered the deck, the crew members and my other fellow dragon knights gave off a simple smile, giving a sign that everything is okay.
“Welcome back to the ship, hero.” General Holster and Iris approached me. “How’s your vacation?”
“Well, we totally had a lot of sex this days-mph!!!” I immediately blocked Airi’s big mouth and made an embarrassed expression to those who have heard it. All of them, especially Iris, had this suspicious yet maleficent grin at us. I have to change the topic as much as possible!
“H-How are your researches going, Sir? I heard that you have located the Demonic Cathedral.” I hurriedly stated.
“It’s what Cleru had told us before. It was on the southern part of the planet, the only land that has never been occupied by any nation. It’s just fifty kilometers outside the empire’s border, and you’ll never believe this.”
He showed me a GPS and map outlay on his hologram tablet. Both show nothing that identifies the cathedral. It’s as if the Demonic Cathedral doesn’t exist. And then he showed another map sketch of some person that contradicts the satellite images. This time, it has the certain location of the place.
“Our satellites can’t track the cathedral, but we had some dragon knights scout the area. They discovered something that does not exist in some way, but exist in the naked eye. It’s so mindblowing. The Demonic Cathedral is always there, but it can’t be proven by any evidences other than the eyewitnesses.”
The general showed me another sketch that looks like a gigantic black church. Behind it is an eerie red moon that looks like it’s in the verge of colliding with the planet. The place is covered with leafless dead trees and snow. That’s the only thing I can tell because the drawing was made with crayons, as if they asked a freaking kindergarten to map out the place.

“By the way, meet the new guys.” General Holster smiled as he presented two people in front of me. “Since we lost a dragon knight that is almost on par with the generals, I handpicked Mark Anthony Octavius to aid our team. He should also be able to help us a lot using his skills as a General-class Dragon Knight.”
“Nice to meet you again, Amphere.” Mark lent out his hand which I immediately shook. I’m happy that he’s on our team now.
General Holster continued. “We also lost a Pentagram Knight so I had a request to the princess to draft another one. He is Remuel Astolfo known as the Mighty Mouse.”
The guy named Remuel is noticeably small, maybe he’s about 5’0 or something. He looks like an elementary student but his manly beard tells it otherwise. He’s a real live hobbit. When our eyes made contact, it sparkled and immediately shook my hand.
“Sir Amphere Harrison! I’m a fan of you!” Remuel exclaimed. Suddenly, a cute midget dragonoid rushed and grabbed my other arm, and shook it the same way as the other little guy. “This is Diana, my Gadget Dragon.” Remuel explained.
Having a higher-ranked Pentagram Knight looking at me as his idol is kind of embarrassing. What’s more is that my ‘hero’ status was achieved by preparing a stage and literally killing my terrorist mentor. I should be happy, but now guilt is killing me. And then randomly, I remembered my best friend who was just buried two days ago, which made me more depressed.
Everyone became silent as another person entered the scene. Everyone bowed in the presence of her royal majesty, Princess Serenity Elkyria. She’s with Duchess Corasell and that jerk Cleru Neos. Jasmine is also there behind her knight, trying to hide her face to everyone, or maybe me. She sure is traumatized when I attacked Cleru about five days ago.

“Amphere.” Suddenly, Cleru approached me. I’m preparing my fist to punch his jaw once he tries to make revenge, but it didn’t happen. Instead, he bowed apologetically. I’ve never seen this arrogant peasant bow to anyone before. “I apologize for not being able to tell you the truth. I know my words are shallow, that is why I shall lend my aid to you and the Task Force Libera. I would like to compensate for my sins, and help you stop my stepfather’s plans once and for all.”
Everyone looked at me, waiting for my next move. I was so mortified that I asked him to stand up straight. And then I made a quick reply. “As my mentor once said, a dragon knight should not blame anyone, even himself. We do not ask. We act. We move forward and get things done. That is why I’m more than glad that you will be helping us in this upcoming war.”
“I also came here as the personal bearer of good news.” The Princess cut out conversation out. “This war ends tomorrow. The signing of the Dragonoid Rights Bill will be tomorrow morning, to be broadcasted in the whole world.”
That move is currently the best solution to all problems. A simple signing would never end the rage of dragonoids towards humans, and abuse of humans to the dragonoids. To have it in full effect, it must be on each and everyone’s television, radio and the social media. But there remains one problem.
“Dragunov. If he continues to throw some mess on us, the war will go on. That is why we have to stop him. Totally!” The way that Airi said it made it a lot less serious.
“The only lead we got is that Demonic Cathedral.” General Holster said. “And that is why we’ll bust on that cathedral doors, and whoop his ass in that cathedral floors.”
I really think General Holster should stop making jokes and start being a rapper instead.
“Amphere…” Kyrie tapped my shoulder. When I turned around, I saw her carrying a life-sized briefcase. I slowly opened it and my godly eyes were filled with ultimate amazement. English words are insufficient to describe the feelings I got.
Inside a briefcase are two broadswords which were coated in orange glass. It has a sharp side which can contain photonic beams, and the other edge is covered with steel plates, maybe used for blunt attacks. The twin photonic broadswords sparkles the same as my eyes. I got myself drooling in this very weapon.
“Rudolf bought these photon swords in attempt to imitate your dual wielding skills, but it just wasn’t his style. It was only taken off this briefcase once, so I think you’ll have a very good use with these. I know…Rudolf also knows that these swords will look great on your hands.”
I slowly grabbed the swords, and then tried a slash on the wind. The sword left a crimson streak trail. I tried another hack, thrust, spinning gash and X-slash. The lights it leaves on the air makes it seriously dope as fuck. All the people who watched me had their eyes filled with admiration! These photon broadswords are so cool!
When I sheathed it on my back, everyone clapped their hands. Seriously, this fake hero is embarrassed to show off. To wave off this atmosphere, I pumped my arm, clenched my fist and hyped everyone.
“Let’s do this! We still have a war to end!”

Short Stories
So these are just a few, very short, stories that I just had to write. They tend to focus on different things, as and when they come to me. They'll most likely be fantasy, and not very long. At all. Honestly, I'm putting them up here so they don't just sit on my hard drive. Kind of sad to think of imagination unshared. Edit: If you could provide some feedback on what you read, I would appreciate it. I do just post these here, and will continue (as and when) to do so.Thank you.

Verdant Heart Seed - A Reverend Insanity fan-fiction
Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leaves a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.---This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life. One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.
