Chapter 55: Seraph and Diablo
Estoff Wraith
Two hours before the sun will show up, and it’s morning again. The skies are still dark, but the brilliance of Elumina’s Seraph Dragon form gave of lights everywhere. The moon was currently overshadowed by my love’s bright holy aura.
I turned down on a three-story building where Kyle crashed. The rooftop of the building is half demolish because of the impact. When the dust smoke went off, the lunatic was there, gritting his teeth and trying hard to stand up. He has finally lost his right to borrow Elumina’s power thanks to the newly signed contract between me and my lover.
Now he shall suffer the consequences!
Kyle seemed to have a broken left elbow and right knee, and there is some metal tube impaled on his right kidney. He’s in complete pain, but managed to give off an evil laugh. “MUHAHAHAHAHA! Beautiful! Truly astounding, Estoff Wraith, Elumina Cryst. The Vesryn Pulse of two lovers is really the best creation of God. I bet you have a compatibility rate of a hundred percent.”
He reached something underneath his tattered General uniform, and revealed a black beating object about the size of a baseball. I’ve seen it before. It was something identical to the zombie Black Phantom! It is a dismembered black heart! “I never thought I would face you two in a battle. But this is the perfect event that I’ve dreamt of! I’ve been waiting for years, for you Estoff, to steal Elumina away from me! This is PERFECT!” Ignoring the size of the beating object, he immediately putted it on his mouth and swallowed it without chewing.
Kyle fell again on his knees, now with awful pain on his chest. He felt like he was choking, and then his skin were torn to shreds. Particle by particle, the outer part of his body slowly evaporated until his muscular system is completely visible. His circle eyes which are now completely round for the reason that there are no more eyelids to cover it makes it utterly creepy. The pupil on his eyes glowed with crimson light.

The General screamed louder as his body bulk up like those zombie powerups in a movie. Six bloody wings emerged from his back. His body now contains a lot of red muscles bulked him up until he was a seven meter abomination who is on par with a dragonoid’s dragon form. Two gigantic black horns grew from his ear and twirled as if he was Satan himself. Long spiky gory tail smashed through the second floor of the building which completely turned to ashes. Then he flapped his wings to gain altitude.
“W-What the-“ I muttered. This power…I have never seen anything like it. Was it magic? Science? How did he attain a dragon form?
“THIS IS MY TRUE POWER, ESTOFF WRAITH!” Kyle’s vocal cord must’ve evolved to a demonic one.
“I AM THE LIGHT BRINGER DRAGON, THE KING OF JUDGMENT!”
Two dark balls materialized on each of the demonic dragon’s hands and then threw it to us! Elumina maneuvered in the air with an impressive clutch control, totally evading all those witchcraft projectiles he fired at us. But unluckily, the demon has a trick on his sleeve. He opened his long jaws and fired a beam of crimson flame at us, which caught the Seraph Dragon’s back.
It burned a great deal which made my white dragon scream in pain. “Elumina!” I screamed. But she replied telepathically: “I’m alright, this is nothing for me.” As she continue to whirl in the sky and retain her aerial grip.
There was a blue blaster that slashed the Light Bringer Dragon’s right wing. The blaster was strong enough to give a first degree burn to the Diablo. It was Amphere’s mutilated Deus Ex Machina, with only half rib, one eye, and left arm left. Angered, the Diablo charged a red sun on his mouth and unleashed it to Amphere!
For the last time, Deus Ex Machina achieved its purpose; to protect its knight and dragonoid. The metallic skeleton titan melted into mercury. But Amphere and Airelina remains uninjured by Kyle’s last attack.
We pose a great problem. Elumina is not a battle-type dragon, and her specialty is healing and creating protective barriers. The only spell that can be borrowed from her is Lightsurge which requires a light sword (like Kyle’s slim sword or Reina’s short sword). I don’t even know the chant to activate that spell. I doubt my sword would work on that demon either.

“We have a single attack that can defeat Kyle once and for all.” Elumina said through my mind.
“No, we can’t.” I shook my head. I know what she’s thinking. Dracaryx. Activating Dracaryx means stopping Elumina’s heart again. She has used Dracaryx for about twenty times already, and the next one… might cause her life. I don’t want to hurt her!
“We have no choice! Do it, Estoff!” Elumina cried imperatively.
“Promise me Elumina…that you have to endure this pain.”
“I’m sure of it! Do it my love!” For the first time in our life, did she stand by my side and order me to attack Kyle. Hearing those telepathic words made me smile. I inhaled a lot of air and then shouted with all my heart and soul!
“DRACARYX!!! Activate Crusader Arrow!!!”
Elumina reverted back to her humanoid form, but her eight wings remained existent. To prevent me from falling down, she carried me by my armpits. My left arm moved itself, targeting the demonic dragon fifty meters away from me. Suddenly, eight wings emerged from my left arm and shaped itself into a gigantic white bow. With my right hand, I swiped my fingers in the thin air and a golden arrow materialized from light particles around me.
Noticing this, Kyle roared and glided forward, trying his best to reach me first before I could fire my arrow. He fired two, three, four dark balls but all of it was deflected by Elumina’s barrier! Too bad, he already lost lightspeed. He’s just a slow fat chicken flying to his demise!
“Be gone, Kyle Leviticus!” I released the arrow from my grasps.
As a little millisecond pass by, the arrow enlarges itself by gathering the stored energy of the wind as it travels through. By the time it hit the Light Bringer Dragon’s forehead, it was already the size of a regular dragon! When the arrow made contact, it bursts, making a cross-like golden flame explosion that brightened the whole Twilight City.
There was a deafening explosion in the skies, and the shockwave gave off dust storms everywhere. The demon dragon’s body dissolved, and a smaller body- Kyle’s humanoid body made a free fall to the ground. It was a forty-meter fall, but it didn’t really finish the lunatic off.
When Elumina and I landed, I immediately went to my ex-best friend who is currently in a pitiful situation.
Kyle already lost his limbs. Only his body and head remained intact, yet gruesome. There is blood everywhere on his landing site. He has lost the skin of the right side of his face, and his left eye is no more.
Kyle looked at me with tears in his eyes, and raised his amputated right arm, trying to reach me. “Estoff…Before…I…die… Please forgive me…” He coughed blood. “Please forgive me for my sins…”
I gazed at him full of pity. “I forgive you, my best friend.” I said. And then I drew a colt pistol on my back, cocked it, and pointed at his forehead. “But Gilliard’s pistol doesn’t.”
Countless gunshots echoed throughout the area. I even got two magazine reloads, shot at the corpse mercilessly like there’s no tomorrow.
After letting off my hatred, I went back to Elumina. She was holding her chest as if she has finally got rid of barbed wire that has constricted her heart for a whole decade. Seeing me, she rushed forward and hugged me tight and uttered a loud tearful cry. I hugged her like a koala in response, until I know that something isn’t right.
Her sweats are cold and I can’t feel heartbeats on her chest. There was a chill down on my spine.
“I’m sorry Estoff. I know you fulfilled your promise for me, but I can’t keep my promise for you. I’m so pathetic, you know.” She said with a smile.
And then she fell to the ground.

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.

Overseer (Dwarf Fortress x Worm)
A young woman gains the power to make elements of a saved game real. She must then survive the assault of a coordinated attack by some of the deadliest parahumans on the planet - he same group of murderhobos that caused her the mental trauma that resulted in her gaining her powers to begin with. This is a crossover fiction between the most complicated game ever created, 'Dwarf Fortress' by Toady One, and an extensive grimdark superpower genre serial fiction called 'Worm' by Wildbow. It is violent and there are some references to sex in it, so it's probably not fit for young children to read, and persons not familiar with Dwarf Fortress or Worm might be confused by some elements, but I feel confident that it stands reasonably well on it's own. This crossover is complete. I posted it here in it's entirety all at once. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
