Chapter 31: Estoff’s Wrath

I feel like there’s not so much action these days, except for the seventh days which the tournament are conducted. So I am here to narrate you some action.

I have received intel a few days ago that the Hyperion Inc., a company specializes on military weapons are in charge of dragonoid experiments. They use dragonoids as guinea pigs. For what? For money of course. All their researches and inventions are for the sole purpose of the companies and its shareholders.

I felt that Arcadia is already inactive for so long so we have to conduct this operation to free all the dragonoids in that facility.

This will be our first operation since Amphere and Airelina joined the tournament. Also, this is the first mission where Amphere will be involved, as the Black Phantom. I don’t know what kind of breakfast Amphere had, but this is all new to me; Amphere volunteered to become a part in this operation. He said that he was curious on how we make abusive companies explode, but I think it’s not the whole truth.

Entering the facility is easy, especially my vice-commander; Airelina Frembell is here. A Futuretech Dragon almost has no limits. She can morph her hand into a laser drill that can melt steel fences and make holes on concrete walls with ease. She can hack security alarms and cameras once she saw one. And she can download the blueprint of the whole facility on her head. It’s like she have this wifi on her head wherever she goes. Aside from that, she can detect heat signatures. We evaded all the guards with ease.

We finally reached the door of the main lab in just fifteen minutes. The main door is fully automatized with twenty-four digit password. Also, the password doesn’t just require numbers and letters. There are ancient symbols, Japanese, Chinese, and middle eastern alphabet and also shapes such as stars and rectangles. Even hackers with high speed hacking software will have their brain explode for these.

But Airelina just barely touched it, and the door opened as the voice said “Access Granted.” Amphere had his jaw dropped when he saw this. My first reaction was the same too.

“I told you this is my jam, totally!” She cheered jollily.

Since it’s already past midnight, there’s no one working on the main laboratory. There are life-sized tubes on the side of the walls, and all of them contained naked bodies of dragonoids. I swear to god, I’ve seen enough dingdongs and titties to haunt me every time I fall asleep.

“They’re all…dead?” Amphere asked me. I shrugged my shoulder in response. It’s not sure if they’re dead or just in a temporal stasis. At least it’s not worse than those abusive powerplants which really contains disgusting features.

Airelina pressed one of the buttons beside the glass tube, and it opened. The dragonoid body fell, but Airelina was there to catch the body. She put her index finger on the dragonoid’s neck, and then she turned to us. “He’s alive.”

Airelina then swiped her hand on thin air, and all other tubes opened! This girl really… Her powers are a lot more marvelous than before. Bodies started falling to the ground. Some fell on their face, some fell on their stomachs. Ouch, that might hurt, but it’s not enough to make them awake.

“How are we supposed to transport them away from here?” Amphere asked. “There’s roughly fifty of them. Don’t tell me we’re supposed to carry them out one by one?”

“We don’t need to.” I said with certainty. Then I turned to my earpiece, trying to contact Richard who is currently watching in the skyscraper. He’s in charge of making teleportation circles for us to escape. “Richard, can you teleport everyone here? Radius would be… thirty meters.”

“I’m sorry Estoff, I can only create teleportation circles of three meters. Unless maybe I can transform into a Dragon. If we transport them by threes or by fours, I’ll be running out of strength. Until then, it will be impossible.”

Clap. Clap. Clap. My sweat became cold as those echoing clasp entered my ears. We have been tailed!

“Estoff Wraith. I know you after all.” It was General Kyle Leviticus. Beside him is his dragonoid Elumina.

It’s not just them. The student council president, Duchess Reina Fleuret is also here with her dragonoid. And much worse, Amphere’s best friend; Rudolf is here, with his lover Kyrie. They have their hands on their swords and other weapons, ready for attack.

Airelina was able to morph her face into a metallic skull-like mask. Amphere is wielding the Black Phantom Costume. So the only identity at stake is mine. It was a dumb move for me. I was overconfident that we will finish this mission as “stealthy” as possible.

Oh well, what’s done is done. I’ll get stripped off my Pentagram Knight title for sure. If one of them left this place alive, that is.

“I thought you’re just a supporter of the Dragonoid Rights Bill. I was wrong about you after all. You’re a freaking terrorist! A MURDERER!” Kyle screamed like crazy, and then he followed with an obnoxious retarded laugh.

“I told you, I will free all the dragonoids.” I forced a smile, and then gazed to Elumina. “I’ll free you, for sure.”

As my sentence ended, I surged forward, unsheathing my broadsword on my back! I made a side thrust, but Kyle evaded it by turning to the left. Time was so slow the moment my attack was evaded. This crazy general had his creepy smile and lunatic eyes stare on my soul.

Rudolf clashed swords with the Black Phantom, and their dragonoids faced each other. Too bad I will not be able to see the fight of these two outstanding knights. I have to focus on this fight with this demon!

“Elumina! Activate Vesryn Pulse!” Kyle shouted as he dashed backwards, away from me.

“No!” Elumina shook her head as she bowed down, and then she cried. “Estoff, please stop this at once! Stop fighting for me! I have already accepted my fate!” Tears began gushing out from her lovable eyes.

I know that seeing me fight Kyle for her sake hurts too much. But I can’t just stand Kyle’s abuse of his power over his dragonoid. Elumina should’ve been mine when I became a dragon knight. It was fine by me if she was under another knight, but not hime! Not that lunatic perverted general!

“Why won’t you listen to your only loved one, Estoff?” Kyle continued to provoke me. “Elumina’s heart is aching whenever she sees us ‘best friends’ fighting over her!”

This time, I lost my temper. My blood continued to burn as I was consumed by my own anger. I gripped my sword tight, and then jumped to my enemy!

“You’re not my best friend!” I screamed out.

I continued to swing my heavy sword without any technique. This guy…I’ll surely kill him! But he continues to evade all my attacks, or if not, parry my sword! I can sense his hatred towards mine, but he can still be joking around in this fight!

“Since you’re my best friend, I may be able to share some moments with my woman! Hahaha!”

“Shut up! You’ll pay for everything!”

I released an uppercut slash which got his right elbow peeled. But he seems like he never felt any pain, and continued to counterattack! He pierced his slim sword on my right shoulder. Blood splattered all through the floor, but that’s not enough for me to stop my fury! I continued to attack recklessly, and I was able to graze his right cheek. Blood oozed from that slice which dropped to his mouth.

We jumped away from each other. Not to turn back or retreat. But to draw some air. Both of us are already panting in this exchange of killing blows. If only Gilliard was here, I could’ve used Vesryn Pulse to annihilate this fucker.

By the way, I don’t see Reina and her dragonoid here. Are they calling for backup?

That’s not the issue right now.

The two young knights are trying hard to kill each other.

“Activating Vesryn Pulse!” Rudolf and Amphere cried in unison.
